Koes Plus merupakan grup musik legendaris Indonesia yang dibentuk pada tahun 1969. Sebelum hadir dengan nama Koes Plus, mereka menamakan dirinya sebagai Koes bersaudara yang terdiri dari Tony Koeswoyo (Lead Guitar), Yon Koeswoyo (Vokal), Yok Koeswoyo (Vokal, Bass guitar) dan Nomo Koeswoyo (drum).
Koes Bersaudara sendiri mulai berkiprah sejak tahun 1960-an dengan mengandalkan musik yang berkiblat kepada band barat The Beatles. Namun sayangnya kecintaan mereka pada The Beatles justru membawa masalah dengan pemerintah.
Sekelompok tentara dari Komando Operasi Tertinggi (KOTI) menangkap Koes Bersaudara karena mereka sering menyanyikan lagu The Beatles. Pemerintah beranggapan bahwa lagu-lagu The Beatles bisa membawa dampak buruk bagi generasi muda saat itu. Musiknya yang beraliran barat dinilai tidak sesuai dengan budaya timur. Tak sampai 3 bulan, akhirnya mereka dibebaskan oleh pemerintah, 29 September 1965, karena mendapat tugas dari Soekarno untuk mendukung gerakan Ganyang Malaysia.

Koes Plus is an Indonesian legendary music group formed in 1969. Prior to Koes Plus comes with the name, they call themselves brothers Koes consisting of Tony Koeswoyo (Lead Guitar), Yon Koeswoyo (vocals), Yok Koeswoyo (vocals, bass guitar) and Nomo Koeswoyo (drums).
Koes Brothers itself began acting since 1960 by relying on music oriented to the west band The Beatles. But unfortunately their love of The Beatles actually took issue with the government.
A group of soldiers from the Supreme Operations Command (Koti) capture Koes Brothers because they often sang The Beatles. The Government considers that the songs of The Beatles could be a negative impact on the younger generation at that time. Musical homage to the west judged not according to the eastern culture. Less than 3 months, finally they were released by the government, on 29 September 1965 to get a job to support the movement of Soekarno Hang Malaysia.
