Really like the mug. It's the software I'm not happy with. It says in the description that you can pair up to 3 mugs, but when you attempt to add a second mug the app says only one can be Paired at a time. Also, depending on the Android you use, the app isn't always reliable. It works pretty good on my Galaxy S8+, but has only worked once on my Galaxy Tab S3. Ember, please work out the bugs so it'll be worth 5 stars.

If you have problems connecting try taking the mug off the coaster first. Worked better for me this way. Edit: Also seems like connectivity is affected if liquid is in the mug, seems like I can connect a lot better when it is empty. A firmware update was released recently so maybe this will improve this aspect, haven't had the opportunity to check much yet. If you're having problems though my recommendation for now is to set the desired temperature before filling the mug.

The mug is great but the app is really bad. First issue: I need the ability to pair more than one mug. You just ran sales driving users to purchase more than one mug but you do not give them the ability to connect more than one mug. This seems like the right hand does not know what the left is doing. Second issue: I need the app to reliably connect to the mug when I select it. Currently if I want to the app to connect I have to reset the app and the mug and pair them again so that I can have connectivity for the day. The only way to adjust the mug is through the app that does not work most of the time. This is really sad, the type of people who will spend $150+ dollars on a coffee mug are not going to accept these types of failures. Please do better.

App really bad, if cup doesn't pair can't get to customers support weird. Seems like I have to force stop app and re-install every 10 days so my coffee stays warm. Cup needs to be 2 more ounces also! Wait for other version please.

Like others have said, the ability to pair more than one mug should be a given, seeing how there even was a sale with mugs in a bundle. Even when I click "pair new device", nothing happens and now I'm stuck with an expensive, dumb mug. Update: I was finally able to pair by holding the picture of my old mug and clicking delete.

The cup paired the first time but as others have noted, does not connect to app and does not maintain charge. After my first cuppa the cup no longer hears without a long recharge. Good concept, poor execution. Not worth the money. Also considering a return to Starbucks.

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. App has become useless. I've had to re-pair my mug about a dozen times in the week I've owned it. This morning, mug connected fine then stopped working, now it will not reconnect at all. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app. Tried everything I can think of. I now have a mug that's exactly the same as the other 20 I have, except this one was about 10x more expensive. Wait for the developer to give us a proper app and usable product. I'll give it another few days before I ask for a return label and get rid of this completely normal coffee mug.

Glitchy and horrible! I'm not sure if it's the app or the mug, but either seldom wants to connect. Even after unpairing and pairing several times over a week it seldom and randomly recognizes the mug, constantly telling me Bluetooth is out of range or the power is off?? What gives?...I'm within two inches and the light on the mug is on!! I've tried to connect while it's off the coaster, on the coaster, upside down and right side up, still no connection. Shame this expensive product just doesn't work, the manufacturer went to market too soon without perfecting their product. With the holidays near this would have been a great gift if it had only worked. Update: 12/9/2017, I tried to contact customer support through this app which requires you to list the type of mug you purchased (mandatory field) yet it doesn't give you an option to fill in the field or pick the mug from a drop down which prohibits you from contacting customer support without the "type of mug" field filled in? Why even ask for the serial number if they can't figure out what type of mug I purchased from the serial number??

Drops connection constantly and doesn't re-pair easily. The mug is detected quickly but then is stuck in the connecting phase.

Recent update stopped consistent connection. Regularly drops connection to cup. Poor Bluetooth implementation for a premium priced product.

Love the product but this app needs work! It's unreliable, most the time it won't connect to the mug. Setup was painful, it found the mug and paired fine but then wouldn't let me create an account, it froze on the t&c modal. I quit the app and relaunched but it goes back to first setup again. now however the app wont see the mug. After some googling I reset the mug by holding the power button on the bottom for ~10 secs. quit the app reloaded and tada it can see the mug again however it freezes for a second time in the same place on account creation. so ... quit the app => reset the mug => re pair this time I used the google sign-in option got stuck again! luckily on quitting and re opening the app it seemed to have logged me in! I had the temperature slider and it was working.

 Couple of other gripes 1) The ‘At Temp Notification’ makes no noise. So I always miss it.
 2) Could we have the battery on the main screen? Its hidden in the settings page and theres plenty of room. Put it next to the settings cog or something.

I love my ember coffee mug. I received it as my birthday gift. The app is awesome. Each time I open the app, it connects to my ember mug automatically. Bluetooth connectivity works great for me. I love the color wheel. I am very happy with my ember mug.

App is pretty, but Bluetooth connection is spotty at best. Constantly loses connection, then can't re-pair. For $125 I'd expect more reliable software. While the mug is great, it's useless without the app support.

Could be polished little (for example missing 'close' option) and updating firmware doesn't work on Samsung Galaxy S7, but otherwise works just fine.

At first everything worked fine but now I can't seem to get the mug to connect to the app. No big deal. I can still use the mug and adjust the temp but for $150 I'd like to be able to utilize all of its features. I emailed support and hopefully will have this resolved soon.

So the app itself is good. The UI is nice and work well. However, the mug itself only has one charge. Really short battery. And it seems to turn on and off at will. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Why does the notifications state "You have reached your perfect temperature of - 1 degrees"? It should state the temp I have it set for. In this case 130 degrees . Says that on my watch too.

Why GPS? Why does Ember need my Google or Facebook password to load app? App should just work with mug - period. Very disappointed. $$$

The app looks great and is simple to use. Why require GPS to sync w/ the mug? I won't continue to use the app b/c of the location requirement. LOVE my mug though!

Once you start drinking coffee out of an ember mug, you'll never go back! The app is super user friendly, and the whole product rocks!

Just make sure to hold the logo long enough to say 'pair'. Once paired the app works great.
