About Colibri - Color Management

Colibri offers color management functionalities for Android according to the ICC specification. Based on ICC color profiles you can colortransform single color values and whole images.

Users can add own color profiles. Thus Colibri does allow "softproof": when you provide a display profile for your particular device it is possible to simulate other color spaces (e.g. printing color spaces like offset ISO coated or color spaces of other mobile devices).

Primarily Colibri should be considered as an experimental implementation of color management functions in an Android application, since the Android operating system lacks these functionalities.

==========

The color management functions of Colibri are realized with the open source color management systems Argyll CMS (http://www.argyllcms.com) and Little CMS (http://www.littlecms.com).

Except for the smartphone device profiles all color profiles contained in this application are taken from the ECI website (http://www.eci.org) and the ICC website (http://www.color.org).

If i press 'color management on' the app just returns to the home screen. Is this supposed to take effect in all other apps too? I dont see any difference..

T70%
by T####:

the image being transformed is too small to be useful... interface could use some tweaks too, but without a useable image size, that's kinda academic

S70%
by S####:

There has been many occasions in which the app crashes just as I press any button. However I love the fact that it allows me to see the end result of the color profiles. I wish the developers would update this app to fix crashes and save image file of the new profile.

Maybe this only works if you took a photo with a Nexus 7 (2012) or a Nexus 4... Otherwise it seems to exactly what it said it was, experimental. It does seem intuitive though once it's ready for a larger audience.

Anyone attempting color management will get a decent review at this point. We could really use it on Android. But when supplying a display profile I don't see anything, and when turning management on it typically just exits the app. It doesn't seem to extract a profile from images that I can tell either.
