About iSeeNotes - sheet music OCR!

UPDATED - the crash on the latest OS version has now been fixed!

Scan musical notes, automatically recognize the notes and hear the music play!
Using "musical OCR" - OMR, this app can sight read sheet music.

UPDATED: Now supports load/save and export to MIDI!
Note that loading from the image library is not supported, only loading previously saved captures.

NOTE: Music recognition is a difficult problem. This app does not support the complete set of notation, for instance whole notes and the alto clef are not recognized. Depending on how the print looks and the quality of the photo the app may have trouble recognizing the notes and symbols correctly - do not expect perfect results!
If you wish to try before you buy, please download the limited time (72 hours) trial version.

Turns the picture upside down after taking an image. Recognizes everything but notes as notes. Sorry, but this app is far from practically usable.

Okey, I just wasted 4 bucks on this. You can't scan a whole sheet of music at once, the tempo is unsteady, and it only plays a few the notes. If it took more time to scan the sheet to make the playing more accurate, that would be great! Otherwse, I would like my money back.

Works on my Samsung Galaxy S4, works best a few measures at a time. This is a blessing for someone like me! Only works in landscape mode as far as I can tell.

T70%
by T####:

The space for the picture is too small and dies not capture the whole one page of the score . Why can't take a picture vertically so the entire page can be loaded. otherwise I like the app so far. Is there anyway to allow not the landscape but with the vertical position of the phone take a picture?

T70%
by T####:

The camera is difficult to focus properly, and its pretty picky when it comes to lighting. Also, it cant read more than 2 or 3 measures because you have to be so close to the page. There is no save feature and it cannot read tied notes. It does have a tempo control though which is nice. If you willing to work with the little annoyances the app isnt bad.

It does better with some music than others.

N70%

On very simple music, it worked well. Piano music with 2 hands did not work for me. It only recognized 80% of notes from very clean sheet music and only on one line. It frequently tried to play key signature marks at the beginning of a line as notes!

This is a terrible app! It reads one bar and then seems to give up. The rhythm is all wrong and it also reads sharps and flats as notes. Wtf. This ruins the melody, clearly. Why did I pay for this? Eugh.

This application would be worth it if one could save and string together the phrases. Also, it would be nice to be able to crop the size of the image so that the player wouldn't play treble clef and then base clef.

Had this been a free app, it wouldn't have been worth the space it takes up. The fact that I paid money for this app and it can't even play a single melody line, let alone two hand piano parts as shown in the video, shows that if it sounds too good to be true it is too good to be true.

Quite an unusual and effective tool for a musician :)
