About Luma

Luma makes creating your personalized Surround WiFi network simple. With the app, you’re in total control.

The Luma app helps you set up a mesh network that’s customized to your unique home, and it's smart enough to keep that network running at full speed, full-time. All on its own.

Check your speed. Give access to friends. Set parental controls. Pause the internet for dinner. And see pretty much everything else you’ve ever wondered about your WiFi network, right on your phone.

Not only can you see who’s connected to your network, the Luma app also makes it easy for you to watch out for your family and home.

Just pull up the Luma app to see what devices are currently connected to your network. Luma also automatically recognizes any new devices in your home, and lets you grant or deny them access with a quick swipe.

The Luma app displays the results of Luma's enterprise-grade network security, so you never even have to think about it.

Love this device. We gave our teens a chance to manage their screen time and because they couldn't we bought Luma. The only thing that i wish Luma had was a Reward time feature where you can give them an extra hour of screen time at the push of a button for that day. Maybe Luma will consider this option in an update. Keep up the great work so far Luma has solved alot of our issues.

Still having problems with it dropping connections on several devices, but is better than early on. Doesn't do roaming well so not a true mesh. Last update caused me to lose my network printer from my wifi computers. Can get it from wired machines.

Wow, super fast and easy to set up. Helps make our internet so much faster and easier to use. We love love Luma and the Luma app. Perfect in everyway, great job. No problems on anything, everything just as Luma states. And the price for Luma beats all others, I highly recommend Luma. Job well done and a great product, keep up the great work.

After a rough first week with the system, everything seems to be working fine. No dead spots and no more constant drops in internet connection. Now with the ability to add custom DNS servers I can go back to using OpenDNS. The only thing missing is the option to see how the nodes are interacting with the hub and if the connection is solid or poor. I had to do a lot of moving around to find the best spots in the house for them to be stable.

Can't keep a good connection and speeds are super slow since the latest update. I've tried rebooting several times, sometimes it helps for a short time, sometimes it doesn't help at all. I even tried unplugging power and plugging the units back in with equally disappointing results. I've since reconnected my TPLink and surprise, great connection and speeds again. Not sure what I'm going to do with these paperweights laying around my house now?

STAY AWAY, would rate zero if I could, support is good but has limited configuration options and the performance and reliability is aweful. Connection problems, speed options, hp printers won't connect, has problems with mac and pcs. Stay away. Update, had problems keeping nodes online and could not keep wifi cameras connected. Replace node with Nighthawk in access mode and get better performance, range and it actually works all the time. Can't pick your ip range, can't configure the dhcp, does not have ppoe....

PLEASE HELP. I can't get into my account and the change password link is broken.

This app is awful. The refresh functionality is useless along with the enormous amounts of false alerts. And with all those alerts there is no way to clear them all at once. I wouldn't recommend the Luma system to anyone and will likely replace mine with either the LinkSys or Eero system.

Allows you to easily manage, monitor and block threats, prioritize devices and conveniently grant guest access, among other things. It doesn't have all of the options and functions one would expect in a wireless router, but it is useful in its simplicity. Security is good, but you can't simply unblock a site that Luma erroneously blocks.

Overall, very good. No dead spots in my home now, and throughput is excellent. Would like the ability to set the DNS servers though. The setup forces you to use your ISP's...

Features that are missing: 1-Modify the broadcast channel and band , my neighborhood has way too many WiFi connections and all my devices are AC capable, I don't want to use a slower 2.4 g band and I want to choose my own channel . 2-Speed...Luma never connects to more than 466Mbps , with my old AC router I would get over 700 on some devices. 3-constant drops... this has improved with new version but I still get one or two daily. The app now correctly shows online and offline . 4-ability to turn off remote access. I would like the app just to work when connected to my network, perhaps be able to login via a Web page instead of the app like most routers.

I was concerned that I couldn't control it. The channels it picked sucked. After a few weeks I went back and used wifi analyzer to check it and the Luma's had moved themselves to less congested channels and then a few week later they moved themselves again. The thing protects us on outbound traffic to malware sites. I am someone who always tinkers with my Apple, Linksys, asus.... routers over the years. It has taken me a few months but I don't have to fool with it anymore. The Luma's are doing a great job doing all the heavy lifting I used to do. (open dns, router configurations... no more.) Had a bunch of middle schoolers in the house and all of them were up and running and no complaints. I now trust the Luma's do the job.)

Simply doesn't work. Devices keep disconnecting, setup doesn't go through, says offline when it's clearly online, Bluetooth setup doesn't even connect to the device, all in all the worst WiFi system I ever had. I switched to an Orbi router and will never look back. Way faster and it simply works. Bye bye Luma

Great app and product. Hoping for a report on kids internet activity. A way for kids to see their remaining time allowed online and VPN support.

Useless and frustrating limits on time limits and bedtime rules. Support is useless and just tells you a fix is coming, but never does and they close your support ticket as resolved.

But my Android version doesn't have the advanced settings to port forward anything which I really need. I noticed the IOS version has it so I guess we have to wait to get that feature. EDIT: it took 48 hours for the firmware to fully update and now the Advanced section is now showing up. It would be a nice option for a manual firmware update check and install. Other than that the product is working well and has great coverage and speed.

So far so good. It always is on and fast. I get a pause here and there on apps like Showtime. Not sure if it is something to keep aware about. As I said, they don't drop and signal covers entire home and even outside up the driveway. Setup easy via app.

I have updated my review of this product and app. I have changed to a 1 star because it is clear that the company cannot and will not ever deliver on their promises. If you have already purchased this product then there is little that I can do to help you. If not, then stay clear of this company and product. You can no longer contact support and the product and app have become essentially useless. I have been with them for over a year now and they are only full of empty promises.

Bought 4 lumas. Set the first 2 units up with several hiccups during set up. Eventually got it done. Adding the additional Lumas more hiccups... eventually I was only able to set 3 completely . The last luma kept getting a red light even with the unit 5 feet away from original luma. constantly going offline which was very frustrating. The app is very outdated to today's standards. No animations or indication of progress , just not a good experience. After 5 days I returned to store and got an Orbi 2 sat syst

I have been working an Airplay problem with support for months, support is great but the problem is still unresolved. So many app features dont work on android. As others have said Lumas and devices just drop off whenever. Right now the app is reporting only one luma online, and the tablet I'm typing this on as offline for the last two hours. I know the tablet is online. Are the Lumas? You can't tell. It's a great idea, I want it to work, but it just doesn't reliably.

I consider myself "tech-savy" but it took me 1.5 hrs to setup all 3 lumas. The app signs out all the time. And sometimes one luma will be offline then come back. Only 2 lumas show up in the house icon even when all 3 are online. That annoys me. I'll give it another couple days of playing with them, but I might return them.

You must have a smart phone AND an existing network to setup? I work with computers all day and still have a nightmare of a time with this. It drops my phone off the network at least once a day. Usually works fine with my computers and wife's phone. It also doesn't reach as far as my 4 old Linksys.

App regularly drops connection or reports incorrect data to the user. It doesn't refresh when requested, doesn't accurately track Time Limits, fails to report proper times associated with network security issues

I got the 3 pack set up for about 2 weeks now. It's fine when it works, but at least one a day I would need to manually unplug and plug one of the node in order for it to up online soon. As I'm writing this review, I just reboot one of the node, it didn't di anything but have the stupid blue light going around. No, I don't need any disco light in my house.

U70%

I had no problems setting up 2 luma nodes in my house. Took less than 15 mins. Never have dropouts. The app is fine except it seems you can't dismiss multiple security notices at a time. Have to do it 1 by 1.

Sometimes my Wi-Fi works, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes my Lumas are online, sometimes they aren't. Adding Lumas to the network is hit or miss, but installation never goes according to the instructions. Really disappointed considering the hype.

We live in a very wifi-dense area, in an old XIX century house with multiple stories and thick walls. The quality of our private wifi network has been dramatically boosted with Luma.

Blooma is a good device and a good app however it is not all the way mature it was difficult to get it up and running but since the initial teething problems having to do with WiFi and Bluetooth it has been flawless

Goes in and out. Forgets your password doesn't let you connect to change password. Keep getting bad gate way error. I can't set up second luma and first one is offline 80% of the time. Support is no where to be found

Security keeps shutting itself off. Will show wrongly named Lumas and the wrong wifi name until app is exited. Sometimes won't show speed, and wifi name shows as "null" as well as all Lumas. Great wifi system, haven't had any issues with the system at all just the app.

I can't figure out why but on certain phones we can't sign in because the email field only allows a certain number of characters and our email address is two characters too long. This is on the Android app, apple version on another phone works fine. Suggestions?

Have had Luma for a couple months now (whenever it first came out, had it on pre-order). Absolutely love the concept. We kick our kids off the Internet with the simple app. It took some figuring out and it might still need to be adjusted but so far so good.
