It works fine but the main concern from what I read is when you lose your phone or buy a new one. Some websites that use the GA wont allow you to rescan the QR and you will loose access to those accounts forever!! So there should be a way to backup and transfer accounts smoothly and safely to a new device then it will be a 5 stars app

It is good but! What if i accidentally uninstall this app or it has been accidentally removed by others. How i am going to restore all the data ? It is not connected on any account like google mail, yahoo etc. To recover all of this codes. Please pay attention to my feedback!

Total garbage. Not only it gives me incorrect codes for logging into my accounts but I also got locked out and spent endless hours to restore access. Two factor authentication sounds like a great idea - if only you wouldn't rely on an unreliable third party app from an untrusted sneaky company like Google.

Great and smart app. I workd perfectly once u set it up well nojist installing it. Those who go about giving negative feedback shd kindly first learn how to use the apps before coming up to write reviews. Or they shd stop getting peanuts from the competition for negative reviews and be genuine. Mtchewww

I have thoroughly enjoyed this app since installation. The problem now however is I'm unable to "Reset 2-Factor Authentication as directed".Account was restricted due to "Profile locked due too many failed attempts".That happened in the first instance because the app refused to open beyond the first page. Please look into this.Thanks. Trash app. I restored my phone and can't even back up the accounts. Heads up for people downloading this. Write down your code for the accounts so this doesn't happen to you. Trash app all the way. I used this on binance and I'm locked out my account till they get back to me. I'm watching money go by and its so frustrating

Like the authenticator but I wish it would keep the keys so I don't have to go through the trouble of re doing everything just to scan the QR code for two factor. It's a pain in the ass! Eh that's why I got LastPass...

K70%
by K####:

Good app which works well. My only complaint would be that the app itself doesn't have a security aspect to it (i.e fingerprint/pin access) so if your phone is unlocked it doesn't keep the extra layer of security it is designed to do. Otherwise all is good!

This works great for what it does support (Facebook, DropBox, Linux ssh, Google WordPress), I wish more organizations would adopt it. A bit ironic that what services are supported this app affords more security than most online banking. I would agree with what others say, perhaps allowing other devices for backup (as opposed to securely maintaining codes for each service), would be handy. The biggest pro is this is very easy to use. I find two-factor SMS very obnoxious and could never really fully adopted for services I use daily; this I can. Update: Backup is now an option. It looks like it may be possible to do multiple devices, but I haven't tried that.

by K####:

Rebooted my phone and didn't realize QR codes are not backed up. This puts you at the mercy of companies customer service department to retrieve a new QR code. Awful idea Google!

K70%
by K####:

Unspecified procedures and improper backup and retrieval. Once you accidentally reset your device...you wait till the end of world to get rid of this 2FA.. NEXT TIME GO WITH AUTHY,..

K70%
by K####:

It's so secure that I can't even recover my two factor authentication settings after hard resetting or losing/change phone. Some accounts are really hard or impossible to reset, so I'm not convinced of the real benefits of this app. Actually I've been through some issues because of that and I'm trying to avoid using the app again...

K70%
by K####:

Pain in the a##, no longer works with Ea games or Origin. It will only work for Google now. Doesn't work with anything anymore, you can't even do whatever you need to do like sign in. Get rid of this garbage!

K70%
by K####:

So I managed to set up one account fine through scanning. Now it won't scan anymore barcodes so can't even set up accounts! I downloaded a different scanner to confirm it's not my camera. Very upset. What should I do because the only authenticator the websites accepts is google authenticator.

K70%
by K####:

This app has started giving me garbage codes for at least two of my logins which is in danger of losing me access to money. Not something you can rely on, dangerous in fact

K70%
by K####:

Can you guys make it much more time saving to use this app. Make it by just tapping on the code would immediately copy it rather than tap&hold and copy. Many times due to this minute waste of time i have to wait till the new codes are refreshed to do it and its darn annoying...

K70%
by K####:

Garbage. Anyone who trusts their crypto to a fking Android app that binds to hardware is a moron. A good way to lose access to all of your accounts. This garbage won't save you from a breach. It didn't save Equifax.

K70%
by K####:

It's a great way to secure accounts and services. But there's no way to recover your linked services if you change devices or reset your device for some reason. I'm locked out of my favorite app because of this. Help me, Google.

H70%
by H####:

Dangerous! There is no way to recover codes once you uninstalled or moved to another phone. I locked myself in my Discord Account! Authy is way better! I wish I knew beforehand.

B70%
by B####:

The idea is great, but all accounts that you add here are lost, if you ever reset or change your phone. It's extremely painful to re-add all the accounts as it usually means you have to contact each platform to help you reset the 2factor authentication.

The App information says it supports Android 2.3.3 and up but it doesn't work on my Samsung S2 that has Android 2.3.3 (Ginger Bread). The app gets installed but does not open; gives the java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError -- android.support.design.widget.StateListAnimator$1. Also submitted the error report including the system data from my device. :(

Simple and works well. I would LOVE to see some more customization support. It would be nice to add colors per service. (i.e: Red for my google account, Orange for my AWS account...) and icons on the line to the right of the rotating key. (I.E. I could add an AWS icon, and a google Icon.) Lame that the apple one has more features than the google one as far as flashing when your key is about to rotate... But it works.

I performed a factory reset on my phone and mistakenly lost my authenticator accounts.... How can I restore them, I don't have my qr code backed up. Why is there no encrypted backup feature?

????20170925 Seriously! Why do you guys/gals touch stuff that doesn't need to be touched?! Now we cannot create custom names?! I don't need someone getting a hike or my phone and be able to identify which 2FA belongs too which account. And then when I delete the name, I'm left with parenthesis?! Come on with simple scripting. Also, your long press to copy also activates the selection mode to edit the list. This is why I suggested a One-tap copy feature for simplicity. What's going on?! Do you guys/gals use the services you put out?! I'm about to stop if you guys do not care whether or not your services are operational for ease of use. You're work speaks louder than you're words. ????20160926 But instead of long pressing to copy.. can you guys just modify the app to perform a copy on one tap? That would be much simpler.. sometimes we do need to access our account through the phone's browser.. does your Devs even use the apps they create?!

This application is the easiest way to lock yourself out from your account. If you didn't note down the recovery code basically you are f***ed. The most useless app I have ever seen.

Q70%
by Q####:

The codes never work. I end up having to go back to sending a text, which actually works fine, but if I'm doing that, I don't need this app. Also was a problem when I got my new phone. I don't love it for sure.

K70%
by K####:

Installed app again as phones can be cloned, so text or call verification is not fully safe. Only works on default device, so when I changed phones, it did not work and I removed it. Instead I should have changed the default phone number using a computer.

Everything is fine. But many people face problem when the phone lost or when they restore phone. Because after that we never recover added authenticator code. So please resolve this issue .. and apps is fine. I loved it

Totally waste of time and also annoying as it does not work every time. You have to give 7-8 try then it work once correctly. I recommend not to install this.

Completely lost all my accounts when I switched the phone. I haven't found any way to restore them. Even after app reinstallation, all accounts are lost forever.

K70%

This app is uninstalled by mistake. Now I am not able to sign in my account. It again asks about bar code. Kindly help to sign in my account..

K70%
by K####:

what if i accidentally uninstall the account and data is not backed up then neithr i can get back paired account nor i can login to third party account to pair for authentication otp. strange dead lock. please look into it.

Great Way To Increase Your Login Security For Many Sites. I just wish there was a way to backup your data to your Google account in case your phone is lost, stolen or damaged.

F70%
by F####:

I stopped using Google authenticator in favour of Authy which supports encrypted cloud backup of 2FA codes in addition to Windows, Mac OS and a Chrome browser extension. It is far more versatile and equally user friendly. I would consider coming back here if such features were added. Otherwise it does the job its intended to do.

Wiped all my accounts (at last update?) In any case all my accounts r gone and codes from my backup phone are not accepted. So back to old fashioned and codes, screw this app

K70%
by K####:

From the moment I connected this app to my account my problems started. I have not been able to get in my account I know this app has the potential to be an excellent app if only I can get pass the two step authentication how can i just start over?

K70%
by K####:

Good until you need to factory reset your phone (which you will because it's android). Settings don't get backed up, so you're left in a mess. Totally inadequate functionality.

K70%
by K####:

I can't login to my account because my phone lost. Be careful!

T70%
by T####:

App does not opening itself, when code arrived. Must open manually. It is a security problem because i don't see, if someone is trying to hack my systems. Otherwise nice app.

H70%
by H####:

It's great when it works, but every time I get a new phone or get a replacement phone, the data transfer doesn't transfer any accounts tied to my Google authenticator app. This forces me to use up a backup code, disable 2 factor for that account, then re-enable, scan the code with the new phone, then save the backup codes again. This is tedious when you have a lot of accounts that use Google authenticator for two-step verification. Please find a way to make this more friendly for people changing devices!!!
