Best photo app

I have been using the Moto G 1st gen for over 2 years now and it doesn't shoot good panorama pictures at all. But this app automatically does it. All I need to do is shoot some HDR pictures from different angles and then after backing up of those photos it will automatically generate a wonderful panorama which is even better than the apps dedicated for those purposes like the Bimostitch app. So I love it.

Organizes and stores your photo safely, easy to use. Almost perfect! However, i really wish that sync option had more flexibility. When it backs up photos, it consumes wifi bandwidth so much that everything else comes to halt. You can turn off sync but it takes at least 4 clicks to pause syncing, and you still have to remember to turn it back on. Only if there was an option to set a time slot when sync happens, or a conveniently located button to pause sync, I'll give it a five stars.

I have been using Google photos for a few years. I absolutely love it! It's also a real life saver. I had a phone break lady year. If my photos had not been backed up to Google photos, I would have lost them all! Luckily all I had to do was get a new phone, log in and there they were! I also love being able to make albums and send them to who I want to have them.

Love the app! I always recommend this app for organization and saving capabilities. Love the sharing features and the editing has even got better! Only complaint is when I go to save a pic to an album on my phone there is no search feature. I have to scroll through albums which can take me forever cause I create a lot of albums. Please give us a search feature to add photos to albums ????

Adequate for people who want automatic back-up and somebody else to stylise their photos. I take photos exactly as I want them to appear and edit myself. My photos were shrunk. I changed settings to upload original format but there was no way to re-upload photos that had already been saved. Phone then deleted them. Thank goodness I had 2 other back-ups. Also clean up gives no option to move photos to SD card rather than just delete.

This is a great app when all is said and done, you can't argue with unlimited free storage for average quality photos. One niggle I have though is the lack of ability to save photos to your phone's storage. If I improve a photo using the app, I can't then share it with my phone. How hard can it be to reinstate this useful functionally?

Great app! :D Love how the assistant and collage and other features are integrated into one platform and love how it is intuitive in terms of organising pictures by time/year/people and places. It also has a great archiving feature. One possible suggestion would be to not let the drive pictures automatically populate it

Worked fine until Oreo update. Now photos, which is my native and baked in app for pictures (HTC u11) doesn't allow me to delete photos stored on SD card.. yes, it has permissions. Yes, it worked before. Yes, the SD card is working flawlessly. Photos no longer allows me to delete pictures that were taken with the camera app and stored on the SD card. Super annoying

I don't want Google sifting thru my photos at the expense of possibly deleting files by error to present me with a memory. I would be happier with a simple folder showing all my camera pictures in one place and my own folders not being split into colour date shape etc. Otherwise happy. Where is the racoon from the trash screen? Must you remove all the colour and fun from Google apps? Just make the next android UI black on black so you don't have to put any effort in. Sad times

I'm still a nougat noob, recent convert from crackberry and take way to many fotos and vids to look through and study the results as often as I'd like. So I really like that I get notification when the app automatically grabs and stylizes random shots for me. I actually spent a few minutes today learning some of the available features of the photo app be 4 writing this review and am looking forward(thinking) to learning how to access more of photos features... sweet!

Surprises us through great animations and collages. Sorting photos according to faces/people is a good feature but is very slow in displaying the sorted photos. Expected a integrated camera with motion feature and more editing capabilities so that Google photos is a one-stop solution for capturing, backup, editing and post-production. Eagerly waiting for Google Photos to improve a lot by adding more features and optimising it to work faster.

My important pics gone due to factory reset of phone. I feel hurt, when saw no photos in google photos that clicked half an hour before phone automatically factory reset of phone. I thought important pics I didn't loose, I had google photos. But all hopes wasted. If google photos can't keep backup of photos, just waste use of google Android phones. Better go for iPhone.

- The best photo app that you can look for. - The best part is it's cloud computing. As soon as I take a good snap I rush to my TV to watch it in big screen. This same activity used to take me a long time earlier. - And the photo back up helps into dive into the good memories of the past whenever I want. Thanks, Google. You are the best.

Absolutely in love with this app!! I came from using Amazon Prime photos, which failed me multiple times. I love taking pictures and all the memories they capture.. Therefore i need something that won't fail me . this has come through!!! Even when i didnt know it was saving my pictures lol

You get unlimited photo storage, all organized chronologically into events, and if you create a shared album it's like creating a scrapbook page. Oh, and you can access your photos on a laptop as well. This is the app that the developers of Facebook Moments and iOS Photos WISH their apps could be.

Used to be amazing, but since the update to Oreo on my Nexus 5x I can't view photos taken before Feb 17. It constantly has a fetching photos bar loading. Following suggestions from the help forums does nothing to address the issue. Also I get notifications for updates to shared collections on my phone but can't see what those updates are or even the other photos added to them. Forces me to have to use the web interface from my phone and frankly makes me want to take less pictures with my phone at all. Web interface constantly harasses me to use the app instead for a "better" experience.

The app works great and is easy to use. The only complaint I have with my ZTE Axon 7 (A2017U) is that after photos & videos have been backed up, the"free up space" option doesn't detect that it has backed up, so I manually have to delete photos off of my device.

This app is great. First of all, what's not to like about free unlimited storage? Second, the Assistant feature makes professional-looking videos and pictures alike straight from your pictures! It's basically an amazingly AI run photo app, and I highly recommend it. ????

S7 Edge Exynos; Android 7.0; Phone becomes very hot & losses so much battery charge within a minute then I have to close the Photos app to save my phone. Uploading progress is not showing anything at the top also. This App was working fine in August - September 2017.

This sorting through my photos and sending me some animation every 5 minutes is not fun and time consuming for a very busy person. I will look through my photos at my leisure and make my own collage. Frustrating that I can't shut off this feature.

It's both terrifying and convenient; Fabulous and stalker-esqu; "Big brother's watching" and "hey how cool"; Google photos is a mix of apocalypse AI and brilliant picture management. Part of me cringes at the borderline invasion of privacy going on, but the other part of me giggles with glee every time I get new suggested albums, panoramas, and movies. It's like the creepy neighbor next door: he gives you goose flesh every time you see him, but he also loves to bake and gives you all sorts of goodies.

There must be option for adding more than one partner's library simultaneously to share one's photo library with each other. currently there is option for only one contact at a time, which is annoying ???? If you can't give option for multiple partner then at least provide option to switch between partner library. ...HOPE 2 SEE THIS IN THE NEXT UPDATE...

I love Google photos. I would have lost a lot of old pictures forever but they were backed up on Google photos so I still have them available to me anytime I feel like a stroll down memory lane. My memory is not so great so this is a priceless and precious gift. Thank you Google.

The management of photos and editing features are pretty standard and mundane. But the automatic creations are really really nice. Love it! Plenty of stylized photos, albums and even movies has been created automatically by this assistant, which are good starting points to create actual memories. The unlimited free storage is definitely useful as well.

It's just getting better and better and the fact it is so intuitive now it's basically does all the hard work for you. You can click away at your heart's content knowing that all your photos were backed up and if you choose the option will catalogue them so beautifully that it makes it a breeze and such a pleasure to go through your photos. If I could give it 10 stars out of 5 I would because it is by far one of my favourite and most used Google apps.

It's easy to use yet hard for my friends to access my own photos if I'm able to send them stuff but they have to open the link which most of them don't want to take the time it's incredibly easy for me but difficult for others. But overall really good app and I would suggest it to all my friends.

Nope ???? after this funky update.... The app is now malfunctioning and keeps kicking me out of my google photos. I cant even post pictures to my social media sites because it won't allow me to be n my gallery no longer than 20-30 seconds! THIS REALLY SUCKS AND IS LOW KEY PISSING ME OFF!

The pictures are relatively good close up but blur soon when trying to get further. Also really don't like that I cannot download any photos now onto my laptop. That's just wrong.

Love Google photos! Photos don't take up space on my phone anymore because everything I take a picture of is automatically backed up to Google photos so I can delete it from my phone. Plus it creates beautiful videos and animated photos without even asking it too. Such an amazing program. I tell everyone to download it!

If you take few photos, the main page looks too empty (well, duh). But no, I mean, it leaves too much empty space because the organization seems to be made for collections of photos and not individual shots per day (or month, year, etc.).

This app is on a downward trend.It used to be great but after recent updates it's not functioning properly.Many pictures are deleted automatically just because Google creates something new out of it.Many important pictures and videos are deleted and I don't know what to do. A simple gallery is better ,we don't need such galleries which are advanced but end up losing all my data.

I feel like this app isn't doing enough to make my inappropriate photos to my significant other more attractive. Can you please use some of that fancy machine learning to...enlarge things? Great app, no complaints. Thanks Googlers.

I totally forget about this app while I'm out and about taking pictures, then later it pops up letting me see what cool "magic" they've done with my pics and I'm absolutely blown away by how awesome it looks!! Thank you so much and please KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!

Still learning new stuff on it everytime I go on the app. So far I cant say nothing bad about it!! Easy to use, organized and well equipped with lots of different features n different ways of using it. Thumbs all the way ☝!!! ????????????✔????

Google Photos engineers, please really consider providing sorting options by file names, it is so difficult and inconvenient to sort/ organize same date medias receive on different days from different people from group outings. This also applies to organizing all the old edited photos and videos which don't have the same creation date as the originals. Also, why is there no background and screen off downloading in iOS version, for which I know it's possible in other apps

I took all my photos with 16 MP phone camera, but all got compressed. Is not it only compress higher than 16 MP or I misunderstood the description. Fortunately I just occasionally taking photos, so the 'not so good compressed' photos were not really bothering.

The app sends slideshows of related pictures every so often. The one of my son over two years made me tear up. It's something you wouldn't necessarily do on your own, but you'll be happy something did.

Google Photos is great - except when it isn't. Your latest update to app this weekend is buggy. The photos are not loading at all. I had to uninstall the updates for the gallery to reload again. Issue on Android 7.0, 6.0, 5.0. So basically it's buggy so remove update please. Omg. Auto update again so now the app isn't working ....again!!!
