Sub Defense for Android
All of Stephen's apps are top notch instruction. Highly recommended.
I've been following Stephan on his newsletters, facebook, etc, and was thrill to buy this app. Unfortunately, like others I get the message: "Internal Mediaplayer Fault" whenever I select any "techniques" or "key points", rendering the app useless. I search the web for troubleshooting, but haven't found anything yet. Is it an incompatibility issue with my phone ? (even if it's checked as compatible) my phone is a LG-P500h-V10s, on Android 2.2.1 Since this issue seems to also appear on the other apps (Submissions, Guard Sweeps, etc) I will have to wait for a fix, before buying them. until then, I'm oblige to rate 1 star, but will re-rate once fixed.
Goes over in detail ways and techniques to defend and escape. Is a good app to use when I want to study Jiujitsu on breaks or at times I am not in class.
His material is great and very informative. A+++
Very useful tool for beginning and intermediate bjj practitioners. Good price too!
Escapes to the most common submissions are taught, with important details and principles. At this price, it's a great bargain!
I love how easy it is to follow along with the instruction on all of the Grapplearts apps that I own.
S Kesting always amazing breaking down the submission, paying attention to every detail.
Very useful tool for beginning and intermediate bjj practitioners. Good price too!
and the price is very cheap!! Its cheaper than a single bjj lesson that only taught u maybe one techniques.
I bought Stephen Kestings 'Sweeps', 'Sub Defences' and 'Submissions' apps and find them excellent in gaining requisite knowledge from. Kesting shows each move from a different angle, then lets you view another section that goes further into the key points. Its really well structured to cover the most important basic elements and an excellent resource to refer to again & again.
Very detailed!

There are lots of apps showing how to submit, but is the first to show how to defend submissions. Stephan time and time again has shown precise techniques, easy to follow and with great detail in each of his apps.

Good app, very useful
The problems I had on the Galaxy S II is not present on my new Galaxy S IV so I'm knocking the score back up to 5 stars. I can't wait for you to release more apps!
Grapplearts released Submissions, Guard Sweeps, and Submission Defense in that order. IMHO, the release ordering was backwards from a priority perspective. This is the most important of the three I think. It beats a DVD release because of the clear well segmented menu system. The only thing that isn't working for me is the video on Caging Hips. It currently points to a web page that asks for email.
If you train jiu-jitsu and have an Android, this (and all of Kesting's apps) is a must buy. The amount of superb material you get for a few dollars is ridiculous. A seminar with a top-level instructor cost 25 times as much as this, and provides a small fraction of the material. To get this much awesome grappling instruction for the cost of a StarBucks frappumochawhatever is amazing.
Good navigation structure, clear video and of course excellent instruction from Stephan Kesting. Most of the common situations are covered, so the perfect app to reference some keypoints before training.

This app makes it easy for me to study anywhere even without an internet connection. Mr. Kesting is one of the most easy to understand instructors ever.
This app has really helped me understand submissions better both in how to defend them and when attacking with them to know what my partner is going to attempt to do to escape

As I find with all Grapplearts productions these apps are of high quality. Bring on the Throws and Takedowns app!!!
I own a handful of Stephan's apps. For me, most of them are on the iPhone. This one works fine on Android. The menu always stays in view, but the forced landscape orientation makes me think that it was designed this way. Stephan's content is always 5/5.
But worth it for the knowledge great to have while on break and need to study on the go
Another top Stephen Kesting production. Clean video taught in an easy to learn method. This app introduces new material, so there is no overlap with your other Kesting purchases.
The best apps ever!
Very instructive, learned a lot. Glad I got it.
He's a excellent instructor
Thank you Stephan for another great app. Keep them coming!
