Not sure if it's the unit or the app but it randomly turns off and on
It's a decent app, but suffers from some major flaws. The Bluetooth connects quickly but disconnects slowly. On many cars (especially diesel powered ones) there is a pause between ignition and engine start, which causes the cars head unit to restart and the from unit with it. The problem is that the Bluetooth takes far to long to disconnect and so never reconnects. That means you then have to mess around stopping the car and turning it off and on again to try and get it all connected properly again.
This is a great start! Easily one of the best car home screen launchers. It's functional, creative, clean and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. Large fonts and icons are perfect for in-car. A day does not go by where I don't have this running on my 4.4 kitkat head unit. DashLinQ does everything right!
I would use this, if there were any plans to actually integrate it with Google Play All Access. Any plans of that? Other than that this is worthless to me and I'm stick to bluetooth.
Still a bit unstable when using voice commands but the rest is awesome.
What is the difference between DashLinQ and AALinQ? And what option should I use on my phone when I connect the cable to it? It has 3 options - Charging Only, Data Transfer and MIDI.
Very good app. No problems. Use this a lot !
Keeps crashing not even once it opens propely. Grom needs to develop a stable app.
The program would not keep the USB connection set at file transfer. It kept changing it back to Charge Only, even after changing it in Settings. Made me absolutely nuts; any program that adds to my stress load is not a good program.
I have been using this app for approx 24 hours since installing my new Grom USB3. I have made three important observations: 1. I now get a voice scream out "you have received a text message from XYZ. Tap screen to read..." (even if phone on SILENT - not good whilst at work or in meetings) and 2. The radio starts up in the background silently even if I'm not in the car, meaning I'm using up my valuable data allowance. 3. My WinAmp app now launches without me asking it to and then reports an error.
Not too big, not too small. Just right. Continue to upgrade/refine graphics. Not sure why navigation at bottom only tells you your current position.
The app stops playing randomly, or stops loading songs randomly. Puting songs into playlists are a nightmare and often times even if succeded they will not be played. Only reason using cause there is nothing else compatible with GROM. If I knew this I wouldn't even purchase GROM itself. Crappy app.
I hate the fact that it automatically lauches when you get in the car and there's no way to disable that. I don't want it on all the time because I listen to Sirius.
The app is always on even when I'm not in my car and still reads messages out loud. App needs to shutdown when not in use.
Works fine with my G35 ;)
If I may make a suggestion it would be to emulate what Phatnoise did and add text to speech for the music. Safer too
Some stuttering/dropouts with Grom BT3 using previous version, don't know if this is better yet but AAlinq didn't do it. Good sound quality otherwise. I wish there was a paid version, ads get in the way of UI controls.
This version works really well in my car with Nexus 7. My only complaint is that the interface looks so plain. It would be really nice to have few themes, ability to customize pictures/icons or at least add logo.
I use this on tablet and display resolution is very poor. The theme setting cannot make any changes and it is boring interface! Also, I'm not too sure how to manage the song list I have. Now everything is combined with my navigation mp3 like "turn left"...
Could not prevent the app from launching on Bluetooth connection (I unticked all Bluetooth devices) and playing ringtones (which is the only local audio content I have). Bloody irritating. Had to uninstall in favour of AAlinQ which does what I want it to - nothing.
I like the radio that comes with it. Its perfect and what you expect from a app named Radio local and outer region.
Gladly change to a five star with access to view speed. Other than that, this app delivers!
So far it's ok I just started using the app.
Had to point it back to my external memory card music folder and it crashed while I was doing that but once it restarted it seems to be functional again.
I finally received the update mentioned below, through the Play Store. This company needs to start using beta testers. They are constantly releasing buggy updates. The reviews would be that much better had they stop releasing buggy software, or trying to fix what is not broken.
I have been using it with my HTC 10 and have not had any problems. Comes in very handy when commuting.
Good, but still a bit glitchy when connecting to grom unit
Immediately connects to phone bluetooth upon car start and integrates into vehicle controls and phone system. It ocasionally drops but after restarting phone bluetooth it usually connects. Cant wait for my vline.
Whenever I tap it inside the app it crashes, there should also be support for Pandora also.
Way better than aalinq, the previous app for connecting to the car system. But still bugs out sometimes.
Using this in my Lexus RX-300, very handy.
I have grom 2 usb to aux adapter on my acura tl 2006. Trying almost 3 years started from previous versions of grom audio (before dashlinq). Newer able to find pattern how make it working. Sometimes unit able to recognize connection sometime not.Usb thumb drive works very well. My conclusion is problem is in app itself. I just can say the idea of Dashling app is very good, but realization is horrible.
Best car media app I could find for functionality, but a bit buggy. Spotify integration is great in theory, but Playlists rarely work. I just get seemingly random songs in each of them. Edit: Thanks for reply, I look forward to it, it's great other than that. I'm using it daily. I'll give it 5 stars once Spotify is fixed. :)
The module works flawless, easy installation and Bluetooth connection. Calls are clear. But the mobile app definitely need some serious upgrading.
What is the point of "Find my car"? If I select it it reports car is on the 405 freeway when it's parked outside my house!
Latest version has bug. On Local Music setting, Auto Hide panels keeps working even though unchecked, I hate the Auto Hide panels feature and now I can't disable it in Local Music (which is what I use the most). Just like with the crap-app AALINQ before Dashlinq, every update has a new annoying bug. Unfortunately in my car I do not have any other options than to continue to use Grom's crap! (Their products really are crap!!!!! and they still cannot seem to release a stable and working app. Incredible!
The app stop working no more streaming
Sometimes buggy and long to respond, but works well overall.
Have a HTC one s, app has always been a little clunky, but now doesn't play music at all. Tracks go from pause to play but are unable to actually start... So music never plays now in my car.. so disappointed :( rebooted phone many times.... Still no luck...
A bit unstable, sometimes it will freeze, quit, or the music will play but won't actually come out of speakers. Also, it appears to have no support for Spotify tracks saved offline, which is a major downside for me, as I prefer to save most of my tracks to my phone at home using WiFi, and then play them offline while driving to save my mobile data. For now I'm still going to be using the regular spotify app, until DashLinq supports Spotify songs saved offline. Hopefully this will be added, as it would make the app much more appealing for me.
