The Nears app is a complete Gunks guidebook to the Near Trapps cliff rock climbs in New York State created by local climbing fixtures Christian Fracchia, Andy Salo, and Byron Igoe.
Climbs are accessed from a list searchable by name, grade, or route number. Selecting a climb reveals a base photo, the route's description, and a high resolution zoom-able aerial topo photo. The topographic photos include belays, rappelling information, variations, and new link-ups.
The app includes GPS to find the nearest climb, a Tick List, a To-Do List, and lots of filters. It also has a gallery of professional photographs and an informational kiosk for the community to share announcements.
The Nears app is an indispensable resource for both the seasoned veteran and the first time Gunks climber.

Been looking forward to the Nears app for a while. Using the Traps app this whole climbing season has been great! I definitely have tons of respect for Dick Williams and his guidebooks, but the Trapps app takes it to the next level. I don't even bother bringing up the printed guidebook anymore. Great job Dirtbag Developers!

Nothing better then a good hang dogging while perusing through the gunks apps wondering where you made a wrong turn. My lack of directional skills requires this app for any on sight.
