What are users saying about HBR: Harvard Business Review

G70%
by G####:

This app is terrible and effectively just a pdf viewer. S7 and tab user. Cant download content as the button gets hidden on mobile. The content is just the print version, ads and all. It is basically a pdf nothing is active or clickable. So damaging to the hbr brand. I am borderline going to cancel because this experience is so bad. Just copy the economist app already.

N70%
by N####:

HBR need take a long look at themselves. How can one of the world's most respected management magazines disrespect it's subscribers by releasing an app that has the following flaws. a) cannot adjust fonts dynamically b) cannot move downloads to SD card c) very slow speed.

M70%
by M####:

The pages are displayed with the wrong aspect ratio (too tall) on my Nexus 7. This is a deal breaker for me. I wont read distorted pages. Also, navigation within magazines is terrible. Zinio and others figured this out and delivered many years ago. HBR needs to shape up quickly, as I can't see anyone enjoying their digital reading experience.

N70%
by N####:

one of the poorest magaine app in the market. clumsy and slow. lack of functions. ironic to see a business magazine devoted to advocating innovation, good execution and management doesn't follow their ideas themselves. why don't you just copy the Economist's app?

X70%
by X####:

I had always enjoyed reading some interesting articles here and there, it was one of favorite apps but after the last update it got unusable as the new layout doesn't fit my 5 inches screen properly with blog disappeared and icons messing up everywhere, please fix it!

X70%
by X####:

Opening the app and seeing icons stacked over, cluttered and meshed up reminds me of good ol days of being an undergrad IT student, starting to do an Introduction to Web Programming course. But seriously, please hire a professional app programmer. Check out The Economist app on how to make a functional magazine app.

X70%
by X####:

Doesn't sync with account. Styles broken on Samsung Galaxy Note Edge 4. Couldn't get any magazines to open. Suggest HBR retire this app before it does further brand damage.

X70%
by X####:

Cannot email articles. Can't skip to pages. Horrible user experience. Rethinking my subscription. Very frustrating to use. Too rigid.

S70%
by S####:

Before it was bad. Now it is terrible. S5. Cant download content. Cant access anything. Just copy the economist already.

W70%
by W####:

My favourites and downloaded content have all disappeared with this update and you cant access the online articles, step backwards. Im now using the online version instead of this :(

X70%
by X####:

The download button does not fit in the screen. The cover is not resized at screen resolution /size.

W70%
by W####:

I would kindly request the developers to add the zoom-in of text functionality as it is not comfortable to read HBR articles from this app. Thank you

N70%
by N####:

Very disappointing to have an app like this for hbr. This absolutely damages the brand quality as well.needs urgent redevelopment.

X70%
by X####:

Very disappointed by a very very basic user experience and poor content. Look at McKinsey's one ,you will understand the difference between hidden advertisement for a minimal investment and a useful and modern one

X70%
by X####:

I previously read the magazine using Zinio. The most frustrating thing with the HBR app is that even you momentarily navigate away from the app you lose your spot in the issue you are reading. There is no history of issues or articles that you have or haven't read or liked. There's lots of potential for improvement so I'm crossing my fingers for the next update.

X70%
by X####:

Should the app be remembering where I was last reading? Every time I exit the app when I reopen it's on page 1 again.

X70%
by X####:

Does not work. Unstable. Poor engagement with the reader. Frustrating.

T70%
by T####:

Very poor app. Previous app much better.

X70%
by X####:

Slow. Buggy. Poor UI. I have a paid subscription yet there is still an HBS ad that takes up significant space at the bottom. How many iterations does this app have to go through until we get one with quality?

X70%
by X####:

Prior to Oct 2015 it was reasonable. The update ruined it all! All prior downloads are gone, new content can't be purchased, and layouts are mixed!

X70%
by X####:

The update should be more user friendly, instead the update removed the existing content. The Audio and Video content should have been retained, it's very useful.

X70%
by X####:

The new update is so bad and all free contents cannot be seen, I want the old version. I will uninstall this app

C70%
by C####:

I subscibe but still cant sync subscription. The layout is aweful and often broken. Really poor reader. Crashes before you can do anything on S5. Still bad ui and broken style.

C70%
by C####:

Completely useless. Do not work. I paid for premium account to have acces also on my mobile. And I paid for nothing because is not working.

O70%
by O####:

Display breaks on the most critical pages. Can't even sync subscription. Needs some serious upgrades to work on my phone. Xperia z3

C70%
by C####:

Having spent a small fortune subscribing to HBR including the premium to use this software I am disgusted it does not even open. I shall be demanding a refund. Utterly shameful. This now gets the infamous accolade as the WORST app I have ever seen. By far.

C70%
by C####:

This app doesn't accomodate well to different screen sites. Not the first phone i experience it with

H70%
by H####:

Very disappointed... Poor design, mangled layout and missing option to sync subscription.

C70%
by C####:

Doesnt work at all! And why does it need so many permissions? Its not a free app, people pay for reading. It should not harness users data.

Y70%
by Y####:

Hi, there is no option for larger font size.It is a pity.

U70%
by U####:

Just useless. Build a new one.

E70%
by E####:

The app keeps crashing and doesn't work well. In addition, it keeps asking me to subscribe when I already have an existing subscription.

R70%
by R####:

I would kindly request the developers to add the zoom-in of text functionality as it is not comfortable to read HBR articles from this app. Thank you

I70%
by I####:

Keeping crashing, cannot download new issues. Does not open old content: " Content load failed". i have to re-install it every time when i need to read.

C70%
by C####:

It's quite shocking just how poor this app is. It's unusable.

G70%
by G####:

Unreadable

C70%
by C####:

Crashes all the time and is super slow and overall poorly designed. Unexpectedly poor quality from HBR, would have expected more...

C70%
by C####:

HBR has one of the best content but no one can access it with the UI you currently have. Its shameful for a reputable publication like HBR can't get a decent designer dan coder to make a better product!

W70%
by W####:

Simply crashes on start: get it fixed, guys!
