الحمد لله رب العالمين، أرسل رسوله بالهدى ودين الحق ليظهره على الدين كله، وأشهد أن لا إله إلا الله وحده لا شريك له، وأشهد أن محمدا عبده ورسوله، صلى الله عليه وعلى آله وصحبه، والذين اتبعوهم بإحسان، وسلم تسليما.
أما بعد: فإن كتاب مختصر سيرة الرسول ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ للإمام المجدد والمصلح المجاهد شيخ الإسلام محمد بن عبد الوهاب ـ رحمه الله وأسكنه فسيح جناته آمين ـ لمن خير ما ألف في بابه، فإنه مختصر من كتاب: السيرة النبوية لأبي محمد عبد الملك بن هشام المعافري المؤرخ المشهور، فإنه كتاب وجيز يعد خلاصة لسيرة الرسول ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ التاريخية، وقد ضمنه بعض الاستنباطات المفيدة مع ما أضاف إلى ذلك من المقدمة النافعة التي بين بها واقع أهل الجاهلية اعتقادا وسلوكا، وما أشد حاجة المسلم وضرورته إلى معرفة هذا الواقع لما تثمره هذه المعرفة عند أولي البصائر من توقي شرور الجاهلية، والاهتداء إلى محاسن الإسلام، كما في الأثر عن عمر بن الخطاب ـ رضي الله عنه ـ: قال: ""إنما تنقض عرى الإسلام عروة عروة إذا نشأ في الإسلام من لا يعرف الجاهلية "". كما بين ـ رحمه الله ـ حقيقة التوحيد الذي بعث الله به محمدا ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ، وأنه ليس مجرد التلفظ
