كتاب تاريخ الفلسفة المجلد 1

تاريخ الفلسفة هو كتاب يعود لعام 1945 للفيلسوف البريطاني بيرتراند راسل يقدم فيه نظرة عامة عن تاريخ الفلسفة الغربية إبتداءً من الفلاسفة ما قبل السقراطيين إلى بداية القرن العشرين. إنتُقد الكتاب لتعميمه الزائد وإهماله الملحوظ خاصة في تقديمه لأحداث الحقبة ما قبل الديكارتية إلا أنه أصبح في ما بعد نجاحا ذائع الصيت, وبقي حتى اليوم على نسخته الأصلية. عندما توّج راسل بجائزة نوبل للأدب عام 1950, ذكر الكتاب على لائحة الأعمال التي رشحته لنيل الجائزة. وفر الكتاب لراسل الإستقلال المالي في الفترة الأخيرة من حياته.

الجزء الأول مكرس لدراسة الفلسفة القديمة: أي الفلسفة اليونانية في مرحلة ما قبل ارسطو وما بعده حتى ظهور المسيحية وموت افلوطين. يضاف اليها بالطبع الفلسفة في عصر الامبراطورية الرو ومانية، وهي التي ينتمي اليها أفلوطين بالذات
