About CalibreBox

CalibreBox opens multiple Calibre libraries from DropBox and OneDrive. It can sort, filter and search in these Calibre libraries to help you find any ebook and download it quickly.
It supports a host of different sort and filter options and can display all book metadata, including custom columns you set up in calibre.

Features:

Free:
• Up to 2 Calibre libraries
• Search in Titles, Tags, Authors and Comments
• Search suggestions and voice search
• Sort by Author, Title, Rating and several Date options - ascending and descending
• Filter by Dates, Rating and File Format
• Search shortcuts in detail view
• Zoom the book cover
• Visible marking of books that have been downloaded
• Show book list as regular list or cover grid
• Long-press actions for books in main list
• Share books via Dropbox links
• Several list layouts
• Support for Reading List plugin

Pro (In-App Purchase):
• Unlimited Calibre libraries
• Completely ad free
• Show custom columns in detail view
• Sort and Filter using custom columns
• Select a default format to use for downloads if available
• See the filsize of the default format or, if it is unavailable, the largest format in the detail view
• Filter for books that have already been downloaded
• Send to Kindle for compatible formats (requires Kindle app)
• Optional "swipe from book to book" feature in details
• Show book identifiers and link to source (like Amazon, Goodreads, etc)
• Option to list available formats and filesizes in details outside the download dialog

To add a Calibre library to Dropbox, open Calibre and select "Switch/create Library" from the menu, select an empty folder in your Dropbox folder, and choose the "Move current library to new location" option. Please wait until Dropbox has fully synchronised your Calibre library before attempting to open it in CalibreBox to avoid missing covers and failed book downloads.

The process works the same for OneDrive, just using the OneDrive folder on your computer.

Advanced users can also create a symlink or junction inside of the Dropbox folder pointing to the Calibre library folders.

Lack option to show high resolution cover. My Amazon Fire 7 display the cover poorly

Has been working great for me until now. On Pixel C after upgrade to Android 8 Oreo search results are no longer displayed. Only an empty list. Hope it will be fixed soon.

Looks good. Lack support for SD card and filter by series (important for me as I use series to catalog the books). Just bought the pro version

How did I not know this existed? This is amazing. I have always kept a copy of my library on Dropbox and now I can use this to view it on my devices. I love it!

Really nice app, but search doesn't appear to work. Suggestions appear in a drop down, but no books are shown.

Great, but sadly no WebDAV support. Please dont forget the millions of ppl who rely on self hosted cloud storage like NAS! Will update my review to 5 stars if this would change..

I like the Dropbox browser interface, integrates well with my libraries. But it can't find the installed reader apps (alreader or coolreader) for mobi or epub files, although the Dropbox browser does which means I can't open books from it. Any help in linking those in would be grateful.

Love it. Works like a charm and looks great.

Nice app, starts at individual book level, needs to start at author level first.

I really like this app, it works well and quickly.

Though still at early stage, it functions well. Need some cosmetic improvements. Thumbnail?

Thank you developers

I like this app a lot, although I wish it supported other cloud providers besides Dropbox (the Calibre Cloud app does a better job). There are also a couple of small UI/usability issues: 1) the 'drag down to reload' feature is far too sensitive (I'm constantly triggering it accidentally), and ought to be disabled entirely when looking at search or filtered results. 2) Clicking on a series name does a full text search across all fields rather than only displaying books that exactly match the series name.

Works well. Easy to setup with dropbox. Upgraded to pro as a thank you. Tried other apps first and this one beat them all. Would be nice to have an option to do one click download and opening of book via preferred reader app.

I mainly use Google Drive as my main cloud storage. I can't use Dropbox as it does not provide enough space for my library.

M70%

Would be willing to pay more for more customization. Given the ability that Calibre has to be fully customizable, I have yet to find an companion app that equals that ability.

A70%
by A####:

Having access to my calibre library on the go is just fabulous. "Going pro" was a given, seeing how well it works. If you use calibre and dropbox... think about it, you know it makes sense ;-)

M70%
by M####:

I would prefer a bit of customization...maybe make the text in the book details bigger. And it's blue, so it's wicked ugly! Maybe color themes.

X70%
by X####:

Please add support for Box and Google Drive.

Only an initial impression at this point, but I'm very impressed with it so far, much mode so than some similar competitor apps. Will definitely start using more thoroughly.

As an avid reader I bought my first ebook in 2008 and never looked back. Once your eLibrary reaches a certain size, you really need to organise it. Calibre is the best tool for the job. Put your library on dropbox and you have backup and availability sorted, kinda... With CalibreBox it suddenly works as it should, so you won't find me without it...
