What are users saying about HS3Touch Home Automation

by P####:

Stock app is not impressive and not up to current user interface standards. If you chose HS, you should do it for full customization the pro products offers. It beats Vera, samsung and wink in my opinion. The down side is the cost of pro version, time to create modern app on your own and occasional app crashes

R70%
by R####:

Awkward to use, but reliable if your Wi-Fi connection is stable. If you move among multiple Wi-Fi access points, you may need to exit and restart. You don't have to reenter credentials. UI, customization options and ease of use could definitely use updating, but still best z-wave option around.

Z70%
by Z####:

The Homeseer Automation solution is still the best home automation software that I've used. It is by far the most powerful, flexible, and future-proof. I use it with Z-Wave devices,. as well as a variety of hard-wired ethernet controls and devices and it's the only solution that I've used that isn't reliant on a constant connection to the internet or some "cloud" provider. It has great support for POTS (plain old telephone system) back-up access to your house if you are somewhere without Internet access, and there are no monthly fees as an added bonus. If you use a bit of thought naming your devices and rooms, the ease of use between the HS3 Touch app as well as voice control through Alexa devices is amazing.

Keeps crashing like there's no tomorrow. I have to constantly stop the app and restart it, it's so bad that I rather get up and manually control everything.

O70%
by O####:

The Homeseer software is great stability wise, but suffers from a GUI stuck in the late 80s, this app too needs a major update, with a decent GUI.

Z70%
by Z####:

Many bugs, crashes and freezes.

Great app for you HomeSeer installation. Totally customizable with HSTouch Designer.

This entire system is incredibly powerful and 100% customizable. Takes a little work but completely beats the canned, 1 solution for everyone approach of other home automation systems. I have yet to find anything I wanted to implement that was not available.

It's extremely impressive when you take the time to develop a customized app. It just looks awesome. A couple of suggestions: 1) it can negatively affect battery life. So, I manually exit the app when I'm done interacting with it. 2) I have two properties that I interact with. So, I have to manually exit and then reload the app to select the second property. Those are the only negatives threat I see. Other than that, it works quite well on both my phones and numerous tablets.

I installed it to test drive very expensive HS3 home automation software which supposed to be much better than cheap home automation hubs. Hs3 works on my desktop but this app will not connect to it , I tried port forwarding and what not to make it work. Disappointing , especially for the price they charge for HS3 .

The app does't work, all it says on the black blank screen is V 1.0.144 at the top and a flash of message Connection failed with server. Check settings. I'm using local HomeTroller Zee S2, which I can control with a browser. I refreshed the password, restarted touch server, rebooted HomeTroller Zee S2 and ever reinstalled this app, and nothing. Please fix.

I can now connect over local network as well. Needed a restart of homeseer and windows allowance of the plugin to use the network (auto prompt when starting up homeseer where i clicked ok). sweet. Update: I just found out that clicking the homeseer logo in the bottom brings up voice control apparently powered by Google now. That is really nice sine from summer 2016 it actually works in real life

T70%
by T####:

Don't waste your time or upgrade from a previous version.

T70%
by T####:

The reliability of the app is spotty. Getting support the way that the customer is requesting it is a nearly impossible

T70%
by T####:

Good functionality but it freezes whenever you move app in background. Everytime it needs to be killed from process list.

P70%
by P####:

It uses to work at first, but randomly stopped working.

T70%

Does not work anymore and no pro active support. I sent an email to supportand got a reply after several days with no helpful input.

iOS version seems to work better. Using with HS3.

B70%

Works as advertised with my HS3 controller. I have the whole family turning lights on and off and locking and unlocking doors.

I would rate this 3.5 stars if it was an option because it still needs work ( Disclaimer: I am an automation engineer and I am used to a higher standard). However, this free app is getting better. I gave up on the automatic scaling option and recreated the screens for my S4 with the native resolution of 1920×1080. Looks awesome.

D70%

What a mess. Can't go back. Device Toggles no longer work.

C70%
by C####:

Needed to go back to 1.117 as on/off buttons don't work. Seems to me Homeseer have given up on x10.

D70%
by D####:

This version wrecks HS2 functionality, and uninstalling it doesn't seem to rectify the problem. You can install the old apk from the link in the notes which does work fine for HS2, but it still constantly tries to update to the HS3 version. Could we not simply choose between the two versions from the Android store?

D70%
by D####:

HomeSeer suffers stability issues that cannot justify the price.

D70%
by D####:

Toggles in new version do not work. No message in log at all, total failure. Hs2. And I will be hs2 until Hs builds an upgrade script like I explained in the forum.

Can I no longer use this for HS2? EDIT: Awesome...I can't wait to try. It's been a while since I dove in. I'll adjust shortly. Thanks for being so responsive.

Love the new layout improvements and bug fixes. It also seems faster to load in this version (especially access to locks).

THE Setting button is on the bottom right side of Homeseer sign.its invisible.. just touch this area and ur good to go!! UrSoLame

I've been using this app for years, and it's brilliant! But have just moved from iPhone to Samsung Galaxy S4 and there are some serious scaling issues, the text is all over the place. Come on guys, I use this app constantly, please sort it out.

D70%
by D####:

Too many issues to share with family members. ... would be constant complaints why this does not work. Not good enough.

D70%
by D####:

Upgraded and broke HS2 device operation. Reverted back to previous version. Upgrade to new broken version reinstalled automatically. This is unacceptable! There should be two streams if HS2 and HS3 are no longer compatible. I will update to a higher rating when this has been corrected.

D70%
by D####:

How can can one take this seriously when my device status has yet to be accurate on anything in here. All of my lights either say unknown or once in a while it will say off (even if the light is on). It controls the devices just fine but the status is useless. It also has crashed and force closed a NJ umber of times. This is awful expensive software. The app however cannot even pass as beta I'm afraid. Maybe if I design my own it will work better but out of the box I'm highly dissapointed in my new purchase

D70%
by D####:

*For those who said it broke HS2 functionality - read the notes before leaving the negative review. After using this app for several months, I can safely say that this is as good as it gets, but only after customizing with the designer... With the stock app, you will need up to 5 button presses just to turn the light on or off. After full customization, with RTL language support (Hebrew), it's down to only 2. It made my life really practical. It's intuitive enough for my 5 year old son to operate it.

This app works sometimes, but has only limited functionality. Just recently it stopped listing my events; the list is completely empty.

R70%

Nothing works. Had to uninstall completely, sideload v117, and resetup from scratch.

P70%

Will not connect to hs3 over local network. Only displays the local ip address but does not connect except over outside Internet or phone 4g

I really like the new look! However some of the screens are holdovers from before. Functionality is there.
