They fixed the skipping & popping (from what I can tell so far)! Great job! Many users will be using this in their car. The control buttons continue to be dangerously small to try to safely use while driving - buttons should be huge, in order to be safe to use when driving. Should have 15 second rewind option.

I do not leave reviews often, but I felt compelled to do so for this app. I listen to audio books through this app on my commute to and from work. It is great and connected to my local library. It has provided me the opportunity to try out new to mebauthors and genres. My only criticism is that the books sometimes do not reflect the order if part of a series but that is not to difficult to track down....

This was a 5 star app before the 6/27 update. Now when borrowing a book, it doesn't load quickly & keeps saying wait for pages to calculate but it doesn't load the ebook. Have to keep trying & eventually it will load. Also it doesn't always save the bookmarks which is completely annoying. Like one reviewer said, why mess with something if it works?!

So happy they added more borrows per month!! Now if only you could manage to put the comics on the app in chronilogical order. Example- Hoopla has Vol.1 and 3 of Batman Beyond but not Vol.2

Flawed system. Often have to log in several times. It will say something went wrong. Also, no matter when I try to borrow something, it says that the library lending limit has been reached. So its a pointless app if you can never use it. I would check with your library first to see what their limit is and if they have had complaints before using this app. If you dont it may just frustrate you.

I have never had to login to my account as long as I have been on my phone to access my account but since you did the update now it's asking me for my password and I don't remember it because I haven't been having to use it. Now I have an audio book that I wanted to finish listening to and I can't do it. I hate it when people go changing things that didn't need changing.

Very stupid. It only lets you check out 8 titles, then force returns them 72 hours later and you can't get any more for a month. Why not just force return them after a month? Why even return them anyway? It's digital for Pete's sake!

Audiobook functionality still extremely buggy even after last update. The latest issue is it randomly pauses and resumes playback. Makes it impossible to listen to an audiobook when running into this bug which does not go away.

I really like how many options there are too listen to, however, I don't like how the app doesn't integrate well with any Bluetooth device I have. Every book seems too skip, some much worse than others, and when I try and go back 30 seconds it doesn't work.

Some ebooks are missing pages so you miss parts of the story. Also some titles have the wrong description of the book. I have contacted Hoopla in hopes they would correct it, but they don't. Its free so don't expect it to be consistently good.

I wish I could use it more. The limit of 10 is my biggest gripe. That and the scroll bar at the bottom. I keep hitting it accidentally and getting dropped deeper into the books and losing my place. But the selection of media is great. Reintroduced comics back into my life!

I give it one because if you want to borrow a tv series you have to borrow each individual episode one at a time which is RIDICULOUS. You should be able to download a full season especially since most library borrowing caps are around 8. Even if you were only allowed to borrow a season a month it would be better.

I either use Hoopla or Overdrive daily. I like that Hoopla doesn't have a waiting list, but the limit of 5 a month is a downfall. I also prefer the way Overdrive syncs with my car. If I'm listening to hoopla and I get a text it will close hoopla and switch on spotify. Overdrive does not do this.

I use this app on a regular basis and even though I have had some of the difficulties that others have complained about I have been enjoying it. that is until lately everytime I start an audiobook the app closes on its own. that is the most frustrating thing that I have had to deal with while trying to enjoy a book. if this is fixed, I will update and give a better review/rating.

It keeps crashing when i open it, or it will play for a little while then stop. It hiccups and skips and speeds up for no reason and when i try to bring it back to it starts all over again. Obviously there is a problem, only a small portion are reporting it but they are the same problems. Otherwise i would have a 5 star review. I normally LOVE this app. Thought to add an addendum, 5 stars only a few hitches now and then!

This app **could** be terrific, if it actually worked properly. Constantly having to reinstall. You'd think with all of the complaints they've been getting they'd actually fix the thing. Great selection of material, but very poor app.

Adult movies show up as part of "family friendly" movie choices when kids mode is off. Even then some of the movies listed are questionable. There are good family friendly movies, though. Limited access on weekends. Need better options.

I really appreciate having this app in my life. It makes my commute less terrible and my "to read" list less daunting. I would've given Hoopla 5 stars if it had more content, especially in terms of audio books. Hoopla has almost everything I want but there still room to grow. Thank you!

I'm using this app is because this is what Oakland Library uses for audiobook lending. I had trouble with it in the past with the playback stopping and freezing for no apparent reason, and no one from Hoopla responded. Playback consistency has since improved. It works well about 90% of the time now.

Good content, bad playback. The audiobook player doesn't use system payback and requires in app controls only. Also cannot start or stop playback from headphones or external device. Also will start playing again if paused and receive a sound notification.

I have had issues with the app not shutting off completely. For example: I will close the app and the I get a text message and it just starts playing and it skips like a record at times. It's weird.

Wow I love this app. Your can borrow ebooks, comics, music album download them to your phone up to aax of 10 item a month. All free with a library card.

I think this app is one of the best of this it's kind yet. No monthly payments, commitments or hassles. Plus absolutely a great and wide variety of books to choose from. The only downside is that I wish it had more audible books available.

I can't login. It just says something is wrong and try again later. Randomly logs me out. Was a good app. Worthless now.

Updated July 2017, Latest update, improves higher speed playback. BUT having it just start playing (when paused) when any beep comes in (a text, an email, whatever) is awful. My Wife is complaining about it. Was chatting with some library patrons, primary complaint, you guessed it, it just plays and forgets where you were. My library does not seem to be updating it's overdrive collection. So it's Hoopla or ripping CDs. Getting to be that everytime I pause I have to write down where I am. Just like my old MP3 player from 20 years ago... Great app. Quite usable. But continuing issues. I am running the latest version. 1 pause a book, get a beep for any reason (receive a text) book starts playing losing my place 2 sometimes it just stops, have to drag slider to get it unstuck. Diffucult to get back where I was. 3 previously downloaded contact cannot be played without connecting to internet. So when I am rural Nebraska, have troubles with app and restart phone... cant listen to already downloaded book. Now I make certain to have an audible or overdrive as a backup.

I enjoy the books that I can access using this app. Both print and audio, are varied and engaging. I really enjoyed the Great Courses series that I have watched. My only disappointment is my library's limit on items I can borrow per month.

My favorite authors and many musicians I like are on Hoopla. Many times I use up all my checkouts and it's not easy to wait until the next month starts! I often encourage people at the library to use Hoopla -- it's so easy. Thank you!

Essy to use and read good books but sometimes it won't load properly. Books I borrowed are not always available for offline reading, and that's very annoying. Good selection

Seems to work fine. Those complaining about check-out limits and expiration, intellectual property is subject to licesening agreements. A license is a license whether it's a physical disk, or digital download.

The app is pretty awesome, but it hangs, starts and stops unexpectedly etc. Easily recovered but annoying. It works well enough for me to stick with it. But I would love to see it fixed.

I love the so many genres of not only books but Audiobooks & music, movies & television shows. This is the only app for me. You'll find more variety & selections in Hoopla than in ang other reading app. Hoopla is definitely a foot & step above the rest!!

A pretty nice app for accessing digital content via my public library account. Good selection of books, movies, and audio, if older, but the fact that many are less popular means I can't find them on other services. The app works well and I like that it can cast to Chromecast.

This app has some issues regarding use when not on wifi, but I've learned to work with it. It's a great place to listen to audiobooks!

Hoopla is a fabulous way to listen to a whole assortment of different audio books and all other forms of media. It 's even better now that they have fixed the issue with the audio player.

I loved the app but since the update it keeps crashing and won't save the bookmarks. Also still having the stuttering when connected to Bluetooth. Please fix this.

Decent, but still limited library. I'd like it more if they had smaller increments playback than .25 ( and possibly higher speeds than just 2x for when I get used to the narrator), the ability to skip back shorter increments than 30 seconds, and an automatic back skip when pausing.

Every once and a while the app will completely close out what I'm doing. It will forget where I am at in a book and then eventually completely freeze up. It's not the best app I've used and it isn't the worst app I've used

Excellent alternative to borrowing DVD'S and videos. At least this way you do not have to worry about them being late add they check themselves back in.

What a cool idea! Hoopla makes all of it's objects so easily accessible and free for all! A wider selection would be great, but more people need to use it for that to happen! I highly recommend checking it out. I've particularly been enjoying the comic section.

Great AudioBook selection. App doesn't respond to the headphones button to stop audio playback. Voices distort when listening at higher speeds. Forgets playback speed when you exit the app.
