About Kids Measurement Science
Young scientists learn to analyse the physical world by measuring across a variety of domains - time, size, weight and money. 5-8 year old kids measure length, weight, time and money in this science app using a tape, a scale, a clock and coins in 300+ exercises.
The games are -
* Length
Measure length and width of pencils, ribbons, balls and bookmarks - whole, halves and quarters.
* Time
Show time on an analog and digital clock in hours, half-hours, quarter-hours and 5 minutes.
* Money
Measure weights of watermelons, bottles, balls, boxes and many more.
* Weight
Pay for drinks, purses, fruits and many more using the coins.
These exercises help kids practice their scientific concepts in a practical way using made-up units of measurement. The mathematical concepts practiced include fractions, count-by-fives, addition by tens and hundreds, total using 25s, 10s, 5s and 1s. Some of the exercises can be solved in more than one way. Kids experiment with solutions as they play.
Our Story
When we looked for apps to help teach our kids, we couldn't find any that were good. One was just information text for the kids to learn by rote. Another was multiple-choice tests - just press buttons. A third had 2 sound-tracks and 4 animations running all at the same time. How was a kid supposed to focus?
So, we designed and built them games - that teach in the way parents and teachers explain concepts, and engage in the way playing does.

My daughter, 5, has been using your apps for over a year and a half now. They are very entertaining and learning is made into an easy fun task for children. Exercises are graduated and build up in difficulty slowly, so she feels confident she can resolve them without too much parents interference. It's just let playing really. On this particular science app though I think she would benefit from a previous stage where she'd have had a bit more explanation before the practice. Especially with the decimals.

The graphics and gameplay are pretty simple, and I don't think this game is worth more than the iirc 99 cents they ask for it. For telling time I like "interactive telling time" a lot better, and for money I think I prefer "Marley's math farm". I haven't found better versions of measuring length or weighing objects though.

Perfect for extra practice. Keeps track of progress. Only bummer is it doesn't stop until the end and its a bit exhaustive for the kids if you don't stop it after awhile. Should be shorter goals addinng up to completion.
