About Syrinscape: Tabletop RPG Sound

Syrinscape creates immersive sound design and a movie-like Soundtrack for tabletop games.

For Android Tablets and phones!

Syrinscape will transform your next role-playing or tabletop gaming session. Syrinscape is a revolutionary sound design app created in Australia by tabletop role-playing aficionados. The app conjures every aural landscape imaginable, from ethereal forests or dank, vermin-filled dungeons to the spooky depths of the underworld. Try it out for FREE and then Register at www.syrinscape.com to buy more content.

Unlike other soundboard-style apps, Syrinscape uses editable and adaptable libraries of sound files – SoundSets – to 'improvise' soundscapes, allowing users a great degree of control over what they are hearing, while requiring almost no interaction while the app runs.

The Syrinscape Fantasy Player app is optimized for Android Tablets, giving users the ability to playback Syrinscape SoundSets with a beautiful, easy-to-use interface. The Syrinscape Fantasy Player comes with two free SoundSets ready to download, then you can purchase additional SoundSets as you need. All the fantasy SoundSets you buy from the Google Play Store or the Syrinscape Store will be available across all devices you own, so you can pick up whichever device is to hand and immerse yourself in whatever sound world you desire.

by Q####:

I like the idea but it's implemented poorly. Privacy policy says they want phone info to get device ID but there are better ways to generate a device identifier. Aside from that the UI is clunky and doesn't really follow Android patterns. Uses space poorly in general.

Unusably slow on Galaxy S7, needs access to the dialler?? Clunky UI, unusable

Having trouble installing Matt Mercer Viktor. I just purchased it and its not installing. Help, please.

T70%

This doesn't give me a way to register my email to even log in

Q70%
by Q####:

Haven't actually tried it yet, but already unfavorable in that your app is asking permission to access the dialer, which you have no business in accessing. You're going to need to give a good reason for doing so.

V70%
by V####:

Very neat idea to add atmosphere to a roleplaying session. However, the lack of a reasonable tutorial or any labels makes it difficult to figure out at first.

Z70%
by Z####:

The programme keep crashing on the screen asking for password. Sometimes it also reboots the application with out touching anything.

I have purchased a sound pack won't download and contacted customer support and revived no response EDIT later received support but was in an unreasonable time frame

Q70%
by Q####:

App is very jumpy on Android. I also believe the app seems to be subscription based which is not worth the money.

Q70%
by Q####:

Very buggy. The sounds are ok but not greats. Its far behind the free website Tabletop Audio. Didn't inspired me a bit.

Q70%

I purchased the Matt Mercer: Victor voice and it will not load. Please fix this issue, or refund my money.

I don't normally go out of my way to rate an app, but I just used this for the first time during a weekly D&D session, and the players loved it. The music from Syrinscape added a whole new dimension of drama and tension to our session, as well as provided some really fun moments and good laughs. That added level of enjoyment is priceless to me. It does add some more time to my prep, but it's time well spent. Excellent product.

V70%

Most people would be too busy actually playing a game to mess around with most of this.

Q70%

Making custom sound mixes should be improved. Love the high quality sounds though.

I use my tablet to read my scenario notes for my games. Would love it if the app had a background audio support. So I can play things in the background.

The sounds themselves are good and the pre-made moods are well put together. The app itself is a let down for me I think I'd have to spend hours learning the interface and rehearsing before it would enhance rather than hinder a session. It can't play in the background, preventing use of the device for anything else. Swipes are registered as button presses leading to frequent accidental sounds. The visuals themselves are unnecessarily fussy. It's nice that it's fantasy themed but the option of a cleaner and more usable skin would be preferable. "Custom Moods" (bespoke combinations of the available sounds) are fiddly and confusing, requiring you to find all of the sounds you want and set them playing before saving. Adjusting the volume for individual sounds from here requires you to navigate back to the specific soundset that it's from. A playlist style function that brings the sounds you want together on one screen would be much easier to use. Also needed are tags or categories for sounds as they're all only organised by soundset. If you had the subscription, it'd be a nightmare to find that sound from last week. With a better app, I'd consider spending money here.

I subbed, downloaded the desktop app. Perfect, all the soundboards ready to go. I then downloaded the android app, signed in and none of the soundboard are available to me unless I purchase them. What gives?

C70%
by C####:

The custom moods don't save the background music and some purchases have to be done in the page that is really annoying.

When i try to enter my email and try to switch to password, it wipes out the email. This is on a Samsung S4 Active.

I don't know if it's just me but ever since I purchased the friendly Tavern soundset it's constantly crashing. I've got the latest version of the app so that isn't the problem. I even completely uninstalled and reinstalled the app and it ran fine until I tried to install the Tavern soundset again. Hopefully this will be fixed soon. I'm running this on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7.0.

S70%
by S####:

Better layout, still wish I could keep it running in the background when I have to flip to another process (like my dice roller).

Z70%
by Z####:

Unlike most reviewers, I researched the product, found that an update was in the works for more control and compatability, I wasn't worried about the pay features cause I'm smart enough to know 20 bucks every 2 months or pay for everything is worth it. Regardless of the source of the sounds you had to put out money to create the platform for the use of the sounds. Both apps are very much worth every single dime be it month or in full. Period. I love this product.

Z70%
by Z####:

Very expensive in app purchases. Seems that many sounds come from freesound also. No way to make your own 'playlist' either that I could find.
