No problem playing app (although buffering takes forever), it's closing when you're done listening. You can't. No leave/exit/quit option. I finally gave up and uninstalled the app. If someone has found the way outta the app on a tablet, please let me know. Thanks.

This app continuously stalls or buffers and regularly quits. If I look at any other app on my phone, I get the "Unfortunately WPLN app has stopped.".

This app is great most of the time. It's a perfectly easy to use streaming service. My only complaint is that sometimes the stream stops but it cn easily be fixed by just opening the app back up for 15 seconds.

This app sucks. I uninstalled it in less than 24 hours. Won't stop buffering, and doesn't work with wi-fi. Needs a total overhaul.

P70%
by P####:

I have the same issues as everyone has mentioned before me. Eternal buffering, stuck in notification bar (even with Advanced Task Killer), and it re-buffers when you open the program. So once the music started (took about 5 minutes) and I opened the app (even though it never closed), the music stopped to buffer. Disappointing and uninstalled in less than 10 minutes.

A great solution for to listening to 91one natively. The playlist is incorporated into the app (although it just natively shows the web page) unlike listening with TuneIn, so that is handy. It takes a while to load, but after that it works well. Thank you for supporting the local NPR listeners with a native app. Keep up the good work.

by Z####:

1) When the data source switches from Wi-Fi to network (and vice versa), the app seems to be stuck in an eternal buffer state, which is never successful. The feed has to be stopped and started at least twice to regain a complete buffer. 2) There is no way to fully close the app, except by "Force Stop" in Android App Manager. The leaves the notification at the top of the screen, which can't be dismissed either. These issues can be very annoying. Would also like to see an "App Settings" menu.

S70%
by S####:

It only works about 25% of the time and doesn't stop running when you close the program.

It works, most of the time. Sometimes it gets sick in a buffer loop. The app never fully closes, it always has a notification that won't go away, would love to get that fixed.

Constant notification is really annoying...

Before Android 6.0 you could close the app but now there is no menu option to stop it. Really? Moto G3 Previous to this it was 5 stars but now hardly worth the hassle of turning it off.

Plays well, but the icon won't leave my status bar after the app is closed. It's annoying enough that I uninstalled the app.

Looks like there have been bad reviews for over two years and still no answers to the problems. I too had eternal buffering, an icon that wouldn't go away, and intermittent service. Uninstalled after trying to use about six times with minimal success.

G70%
by G####:

I like being able to stream WPLN wherever I am. However, the app stays in my notification tray until I force close it, and there's really no good reason for that behavior.

M70%
by M####:

Don't have this trouble with WBUR or WHYY

Y70%
by Y####:

I got it going once for about a minute and then it went into eternal buffer. :(

L70%
by L####:

Buffering is laggy even in 4G coverage. Also having the same issue of the icon reappearing in the notification tray after having closed the app, then getting a notification. It's sad Android is just getting an app so long after the one for Apple was introduced. Will reinstall after issues fixed.

N70%
by N####:

This application includes the ability to stream any of WPLN's broadcasts and also features local news for the greater Nashville metropolitan area.

I love my NPR and was excited that WPLN had a new app so I could listen via my phone. The app looks nice and easy to use, but it stops playing only after a few minutes. I have a SG3 and have 4LTE service and even 30 mbs wifi at home with excellent coverage. I have even deleted and re-installed thinking maybe a glitch... Unfortunate because I love my NPR shows.

Love the app functionality! Simple, straightforward interface with plenty of options. But the icon in the notification bar won't go away after I've closed the app. Or it goes away, but comes back when I get another notification. Please fix and I'll reinstall.
