This app is designed specifically for the AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket. It should also work for the first Samsung Galaxy Note.
To activate the app, simply install and run it. There is no user interface that will open when you run the app, it only provides a background process. You will see a notification appear when you plug in a charger.

The AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket and first Samsung Galaxy Note (and possibly other Samsung devices) suffer from a hardware defect that can negatively affect your battery life.
Some USB chargers cause a "wakelock" on your phone that prevents it from going into deep sleep. This results in roughly 10% per hour battery loss, regardless of whether you use the phone at all. Before you try anything else, you should test each of your chargers and make sure they are not causing a wakelock.
The goal of this app is to identify whether your charger causes a wakelock. The app will also tell you how fast the charger is at charging your device. After launching it, the app will run in the background and notify you of your charger type and current any time you plug in a charger. You will get a special notification if your charger will cause a wakelock.

This app is intended for model number sgh-i727 Samsung Galaxy II Skyrocket. It is a background app that shows a notification when you plug in a charger. This notification tells the user if the charger being used causes a wakelock condition that reduces battery life on the Galaxy SII Skyrocket. It will also show initial charging current. My only request would be to make this a widget and/or have the notification update the charging current every 60 seconds. Super helpful app!

It's exactly what I needed we found out which charger originally fried my phone as well as which one was causing wakelock. hopefully we can fix everything else now that we found out what was causing all the problems

made for the skyrocket, samsung sgh-i727(r), but might work for other phones. its not an app per say, it just notifies you via status bar what kind of charge youre getting and if its causing a wakelock while charging. notifications only as there is no app to open and/or settings to modify.

Charger wakelock can be a nightmare on this phone, but this app can at least tell when there is a problem. PS avoid generic chargers and cables; get sammy originals cheap on ebay.

I have been looking for an app that does this for a LONG time. It works just like the description says. I can now finally determine the output of my chargers, and maybe more importantly, which cables allow maximum current. Not all cables are the same, and this app shows that. I found that any charger made for apple devices creates a wakelock on my I727.
