Every time i start my truck, it thinks there is a call in progress. I have to hang up the phantom call becore i can use the phone or the truck stereo, nav, etc.

Works pretty well for my purposes. Plays nice with Dropbox and Dragon Dictate. I guess it's accurate about 60% of the time, wildly inaccurate about 10% and completely misses recording anything, or blurs what I say with electronic noise about 2% of the time. (The rest of the time it's just on the border of inaccuracy.) It works best in a quiet room, but works even in the street with traffic driving by.

Could use some additional options for organizing old files (ie folders or expanding tabs etc). Still a great service

Y70%
by Y####:

Hands down the best dictation app on Android but it could be better with some some tweaks. 1. Allow the renaming of the file in the dication screen (like ios) 2. Allow Google Drive sharing in quickshare (like ios). Other than that it's perfect

The Android version is two years old, but it STILL has no bluetooth support (unlike the iOS version which has had it for at least 5 years, but costs the same). Although the built in mic on my Galaxy S4 picks up pretty well anytime my phone is within arm's reach, I prefer my Bluetooth mic. I like to dictate while driving on the highway, but I don't want to have to hold my phone always.

I am a long time user and have used this app on my ipad since it came out. I asked for an android version before it was a reality... Now that it has arrived I've been a little disappointed with the audio quality and the lack of the cut and insert functions. Granted, I am using a Samsung S4 and the audio quality may be related to the phone. For the record, I'll give this 5 stars once I can cut and insert audio in the android version. This is still the best dictation app on the market!

I have used this app on ipad all the time and from time to time on android and it was great but suddenly and for no apparent reason after transferring dictation to transcriber software the sound quality is terrible. Playback on ipad & android seem fine but the transferred file is very badly affected by static type noise. Thought it was my secretary's equipment but have dictated from other dictation products and there's no problem. Also I send dictation to external service & they notice the change too.

Waveform view missing - no way to see if your recording is too loud.

With recent improvements to this app, it is really a great value. We used to spend considerably more on analog equipment. We love the way we can sync the app to a shared Dropbox folder. I can send dictation to the office from anywhere!

H70%

Please read this before buying!!! I installed the app on a Samsung S4 mini phone. The app was unusable due to distorted sound. I used it to dictate patient letters, but had to redo them all using a free app (initially voice recorder, but now with easy voice recorder, both providing excellent sound quality). Only difference is that the free ones do not allow rewind during dictation (which is workable). I contacted the company, but received no solution. I would like a refund of the 10 USD, but do not know how to request this.

Terrible! VERY POOR SOUND, RECORDINGS ARE SOMETIMES INCOMPREHENSIBLE DUE TO SOUND AND PLAYBACK PROBLEMS WHERE WORDS ARE GLUED TOGETHER

K70%
by K####:

We have been using this app on iOS for over 5 years and it works perfectly with our requirements (legal offices) Now that the android version is stable I can ditch carrying my ipod around as well as my s5. Works with dropbox with no issue on both iOS and android. Other lawyers here use iOS via their ipad and I phones. Some of the bad reviews probably have not set the format to most appropriate one (it's a balance between small file size for transfer/upload to dropbox and very high quality )

Update has caused more issues.

Z70%
by Z####:

Update provided reskin but no change in features and none of the needed improvements. Would want ability to barcode scan, insert, upload more easily to different locations after dictating. iOS version still far more advanced!

This app had a lot of problems when it first came out, but it is improving with each update. I'm sticking with it for now, as I have found no other Android app that works as well or is as user friendly.

B70%
by B####:

Audio file is now reliably saved and quality is good. Higher sample rate is also used for recording. There is a slight delay with stop button so that it's more difficult to edit recordings than on iOS. I wish it didn't rescan sample rate on OS reboot - clarified, it was due to updates putout in close succession.

Works well for iOS. Erratic for Android. Fewer features and crashes often.

I have checked the app with Samsung Galaxy S4, the free version with email was working great so I bought the paid version to configure with SFTP server. It is not working most of the time mobile freezes and not working with any SSL. I have been trying to get help from the company but they they are not helpful. So, I will not recommend this product to anyone. George

Feels like a very poor port of a great iPhone app. I was highly disappointed with both its functionality and ease of use after switching from my iPhone 5 to my Galaxy Note 3. To be fair, I failed to notice the disclaimer regarding Galaxy phones until after I wrote the review above. I can verify that if you have a Galaxy device, do not purchase this app. I hope they find a solution to the problem and update the app.

A70%

I was similarly disappointed with the android version compared to the iOS. There is no stable usb transfer and there is no insertion function working. On Note 3 it only picks up 8000hz frequency. Horrible audio quality.

M70%

Other android dictation apps have functionality of iOS version of this app. But not this one. For example, the insert function is just missing.

Smooth operation, excellent sound quality and easy controls. Our law firm uses it with great satisfaction.

M70%

Some audio files will output no sound after saving. Dictamus is aware of this problem and says it is due to the way Galaxy handles memory. I will be using iOS version until this is sorted out but be warned not to rely on Android version for mission critical work.

M70%
by M####:

I've been very happy with it. I have no experience with the IOS version, but this has worked faultlessly for me. Only issue is occasionally get stuck with too higher sample rate, so the files are larger than I'd like, but it's not currently an issue.

I was a big fan of dictamus on ios. Found out it was available for android and jumped the iphone ship. Unfortunately, the app has been a disappointment. They simply took the user interface and stretched it to fit the larger screened android phones making it look distorted and pixelated. Voice activation has been cutting off the first syllable. For some reason it doesn't seem as well constructed as thrips version.

It's been a few years since I was carrying an iPhone, but IIRC, you could select the mic source (built in or Bluetooth when active) or playback device (built in or Bluetooth when active). That isn't an option on this version (1.0, build #130). Although the built in mic on my Galaxy S4 picks up pretty well anytime my phone is within arm's reach, it would be better, I believe, if I could use my Bluetooth mic. I like to dictate while driving on the highway, but I don't want to have to hold my phone always.
