About Podcast Player PREVIEW
This is a preview of the upcoming $1 version. I do not feel like there are enough new features in this version yet to start charging $1 for it. All I ask in return is you email me about any bugs you find.
This app will expire in a few months, at which point you can buy the $1 version, or go back to the free version.
You will find no skins or pretty buttons in this app. It was made to be low overhead and efficient. Ever tried using a slider bar to skip around in a 2 hour podcast? This app uses buttons so you can skip to where you want. The pause/resume is oversize and at the top so you can use it in your car's cup holder. It can delete the mp3 after you have listened to it. It wont lose your position like other podcast players.
This app does not download podcasts. It only plays them.
permissions:
READ_PHONE_STATE - so it can know when to automatically pause for incoming calls.
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE - so it can optionally delete the podcast files after you listen to them.
WAKE_LOCK - so your device wont go to sleep in the middle of a long podcast.

This app is exactly what I want in a podcast player. It reads from a given directory, it remembers where I left off when I stop listening, and it has a customizable skip forward/backward feature. The bad news is that the "preview version has expired". It did this last year at about this time too but fixed itself then. No fix has appeared so far this year. The free version is ok but no where as good as this one. Is the developer still out there and working on this ? Judging by the reviews here there are many customers who will happily pay when the designer fixes it and starts charging. Please get this app back working.

I really like this app funny: it's perfect for listening to language podcast where you have to rewind often and don't want to have to look at the screen. It does have one fatal flaw though. If it's running and I make a call, sometimes it will start playing and I can't hear the phone audio. It's very frustrating, and has forced me to uninstall it for now. Otherwise it's a great app though.

The app does exactly what is posted and is great for podcasts. Only reason not a prefect 5 score is that I can not use pause/play buttons on headset. Though looks to be in a future fix. Preview version is over now and can not find pay version. .. :'(

Look forward to development. In spite of issues, the only way to listen to long mp3/podvasts. The controls are simple and make a boat load of sense.

I've used both of these Podcast Players for several years now going back and forth from other players and I return each time. Interface is great, visual access (big huge buttons for quick pressing at a glance while driving, or doing other stuff). Don't forget it's just a player that accesses your previously downloaded podcasts.

I've been trying out the preview after having used the free Postcast Player for about a year. It does exactly what I want: plays podcasts. I didn't want a downloader or anything other than a player with the ability to advance through commercials. This app does that. I agree with the previous reviewer that the old style of press+hold works better (for me) than the new style of double clicking when selecting a podcast to listen to. I don't know if it is a problem with the phone, with the OS, or the app, but when I sync and copy new podcasts to the phone, this app loses its place in the podcast being played. That can be a hastle when listening to very long podcasts or audio books.

Double tap method to select files is tricky (also its easy to miss the message explaining this is the new method) Old method of press+hold was easier

Basically it's the programmers to do list. Let me add one thing to your list. Remove the upgrade link from the original version. You can put it back later, when you find the time to fix this.
