About Trigger - Task Launcher

Bored of putting your phone on silent every time you get into the office? Tired of turning off Bluetooth to conserve battery every time juice gets low?

This app interacts with your surroundings to configure settings on your phone automatically. Combine triggers and actions to create tasks, then activate the tasks that you create with conditions that you set!

Here are examples of what you can do:

In your car: Use Bluetooth as a trigger to open GPS and launch your favorite music app

On your nightstand: Program an NFC tag to set your ringer to vibrate, dim your display and set an alarm

In your house: Use WiFi as a trigger to silence your phone, connect to bluetooth, and play your favorite songs.

The current free triggers are as follows:

-NFC
-Bluetooth
-Wifi

And as part of our Pro-Upgrade we also have these additional triggers:

-Battery Level
-Location
-Time triggers
-Charging
-Calendar Events
-Agent
-Headset

And here are a few examples of the actions that you can perform with Trigger task launcher:

- Change WiFi, Bluetooth, mobile hotspot, airplane mode (root users in Jelly Bean and up), auto-sync, GPS and mobile data settings (root users).
- Change your volumes or notification tones.
- Change your display brightness, timeout, auto-rotation, or notification light settings
- Check in on social media like Foursquare or Google Places
- Send messages using Twitter, SMS, Email, or Glympse
- Start or stop Applications (root required for stopping most applications), dock modes, open URLs, speak text, or navigate to an address
- Set Alarms or create calendar events
- MORE!

Trigger is a task launcher that allows you to easily program your device to do the actions you do regularly.

So go ahead and create your own combinations to automate your life. The only limit is what you can come up with!

The Wall Street Journal calls it "living in the future."

Additional actions can be found when experimental features are enabled in advanced settings. Auto lock screen and airplane mode are restricted by Android but we've created some work around solutions for these actions. (Note: They aren't 100% reliable which is why they're classed as "experimental features").

Some demos can be viewed on the application website

Note: When using NFC Tags you can create a Switch task that will toggle between two tasks with each tap.

We're always working on adding new actions to Tasks. Please get in touch if there's something you'd like to do that's not currently offered.

This application supports NFC Forum Type 1, Type 2, Type 3 and Type 4 Tags as well as third party NFC Enabled tags like the MIFARE Classic, DESFire, Ultralight and Ultralight C. Now supporting read-only tags & allowing you to write any amount of data to any tag using Tagstand's cloud service. This allows you to use your tags just as you would any writable tag without worrying about size.

All permissions are listed and explained here: https://sites.google.com/site/triggerwiki/permissions

This app uses Google Analytics for aggregate, anonymous data collection, which can be opted out of from the settings page.

For Android 7 I had to remove app from battery optimization to work correctly. Love app. I use it to change screen brightness and start apps (Pandora and Waze) when I Bluetooth connect in car. Lower sounds/ringer when connected to work Wi-Fi. Louder when at home but quiet after 11pm.

Sucks. Does anyone actually work on this thing anymore or what!? Get this fixed! Update - For whatever reason, it changes my "Display Timeout" to "after 72 hours of inactivity" instead of "30 seconds" when triggering the iHeartRadio App. A year or two ago it was fantastic. Now it does (or doesn't) do whatever it wants. It decides what triggers (and parts of triggers) it feels like triggering, or it changes part of them entirely, regardless of my settings. Here's hoping it returns to its formerly awesome app soon. In the event it is phone related (I've uninstalled, reinstalled, cleared cache everyway possible, and factory reset (

Have been using this app for 5+ years. At the beginning it was great, but slowly it has become obsolete. No major updates (new features) have been released for a long time. It is easy to use and the UI is great, but it lacks support of a lot of controls that other apps can manage (look at Automate for example.) The big disappointment here is the geo location feature, which has never worked for me. I paid for this application when it was the best out there; today I would put my money somewhere else.

D70%
by D####:

The app can no longer be triggered by time of day. App is still very slow to respond to triggers - especially bluetooth.

D70%
by D####:

Really useful, use it everday, in car, on bike, everywhere. One missing thing is a trigger on volume. We can't place a trigger when we disable notification sound

D70%

After trying it out, very happy. After paying for the full version, hardly ever works as it did before. Crap

After searching for a user friendly app to switch from SmartWatch to car Bluetooth in vain for over a year along comes this very well built simple and effective app. Well done!

D70%

If this app works only with automate, why is it not providing complete details about automate, or automate trigger task launcher. Doesn't even use the same name as automate

J70%

Work great. Needed something easy to use. This app also has a nicer look than other automating apps. Thank you!

Excellent. But SMS plugin not available on Google Play

D70%

This app it is very very complex and finaly it is not useful

D70%

Crashes on opening, can't use the app

D70%

It is a very good, specially combined with Tasker. Tasker is better for making tasks, but to trigger them this is better. As it is compatible with tasker, it is 5 stars

H70%

Too many tasks only work halfway without additional external plug-ins that do not always exist.

For some reason time triggers doesnt work. Please advise!

I needed a replacement for 'Bluetooth connect and play' and this is exactly what I needed. Easy to set up and work as expected. Great utility!

Good apps, could be better if it could associate with social media to posting status or sending text via whatsapp

1) It asks for permission to (de)activate wifi every time I run the NFC task, making it pointless, apparently there is no way to give the app permission to do it permanentkly???? 2) reinstall the app and you lose all yopur tasks, even when I am logged on. What is the purpose of login in, if not to save the work I put in the app???? 3) There are nags everywhere to buy NFC tags and to use the paid version 4) I have a task stored in a NFC tag, and the app runs it (well, everytime asks for permissions so is not very useful, but it does whatever it is it does) but I cannot load it into the app to modify it, in fact there is no way appatently to know what actually the task does, opening some interesting and risky security situations if someone gets access to the tag you use (the best way to improve the situation is to uninstall the app, what I will do right now) Pretty useless to me, I do not understand how it has such a high rank

I have been using this app for a while. It has a really nice UI and does all that I need excepting the limitations for not having a rooted device. What I use it for is BT connections. My car has BT for phone but not for music. I have a seperate device for that. I have a Nexus 6P and by default, it will conect to the phone in the car but not music. I set up a workflow that connects the second BT device when the first connects. I also have it open Android Auto and start the music playing. I love it for that and it works great. A improvement that I would like to see, assuming that it is possible within the limitations of AOSP, is that when the handset connects to my home wifi, it disables mobile data and when I lose home wifi, it enables mobile data again. Final thoughts, it has worked great for me and I have tried MacroDroid, Tasker (too complicated for what i needed) and Automate. I prefer Trigger above the three. It is only 4 stars because of the lacking I mentioned though I don't know if that is fair since it might be a limitation of AOSP. If that is the case, I would give it 5 stars. If the devs let me know they can't do it, then I will up the rating.

Update: Widgets disappear from home screen upon reboot. Otherwise, this thing does all the tasks we set Task alerts for us to do, automatically. Like checking in with people regularly via automatic text etc based on your location/wifi you're on etc. Awesome automation. Turns on Bluetooth based on whatever parameter you set. Now there are even sticker things we can apparently use with NFC to tap and make the automation programmed in it run.

This app used to be the best for NFC tags and general phone automation but with Android 7 it closes all the time and never stays active. Tried to contact support but they are MIA.

This worked great when I started using it. I used it for a while, then disabled it for a few months. Now it doesn't work. I tried re-installing and nothing. All I want to do is make my phone start playing Pandora when it connects to my cars Bluetooth. Instead it randomly starts playing Pandora everywhere but my car.

I've been happily using this for years and now it's crashing constantly on Nougat, even since the last update. Please fix this since no other app seems like an acceptable replacement for this fantastic app

The background process crashes at startup since Nougat arrived this morning. Sorry to say, latest patch didn't fix the crash.

i use headset connection as the trigger. the event runs when triggered but fails to limit notification to priority only. currently running on custom rom.

This app for a few years has pretty much performed flawlessly. I love that it just takes care of muting my ringer and flipping stuff on and off based on detecting which wifi I'm near. I never forget to turn off a ringer at the movie theater or work. It doesn't really work for me using geo fencing, it's not very reliable. Maybe it has gotten better, but I've been using it a few years and it wasn't good when I started. However, after Nougat, it crashes all the time which forces me to give it less than a stellar rating. Hopefully other people will report it as a problem.

D70%

The triggers such as changing to vibrate mode after connecting to a WiFi network very often doesn't trigger... Triggering when disconnecting from my car's Bluetooth also often doesn't trigger

D70%
by D####:

For some reason switching rotation based on Bluetooth event doesn't work for me. I want auto rotate in my car, portrait most other times. It switches to auto but doesn't switch back to portrait on disconnect. I've removed it from battery optimisation .

N70%

GPS off instead switches GPS on. Also why not call it 'High Accuracy' and 'Battery Saving' modes like they are called in the settings?
