ECO Plugs

I agree with other reviewers that the instructions need revising. Using your phone's WiFi, directly connect to the Eco Plug's Wi-Fi siginal, then open the App and follow along. If the tutorial had said that, it might resolve a lot of the 1 star reviews. Great unit after install. I almost can't wait for the holidays.

This is a good buy. Initially the lights won't turn on as scheduled. Contacted their support and they email me back indicating my Android is set to DST "on" and on app it's "off", turned it on and all worked as expected. Would have been nicer if these information is documented. App can offer more.... I would prefer a shut off button in the app if I need to turn the lihth off without cancelling the entire schedule. The other is notifications such as "light turned on or turned off". Thanks!

App doesn't respond to input. Plugged in the hardware and blue light blinking as described in wuick start. Started app on phone and pressed settings icon and nothing happens. Hardware and app are useless. Updating review to 3 stars because after uninstalling and reinstalling twice I finally got it to configure properly.

For me smart plugs are for making a simple switch easier. I walk into my home, my lights come on, like magic. But due to incompatibility with more smart systems then just Alexa this switch is inconvenient to use. Need to find phone or plug itself to use it. IFTTT or Google home integration would be great.

Still did not work, tried two different phones, did not work. Going to the trash, the plug in can be used as a on or off plug only. Cost more then I would pay for a gang plug.

When I used the plug the first time it was showing on my WiFi network, but when I took the plug to a different home with a different WiFi it doesn't work. How to fix this problem??

The hardware appears to work fine, but the app is useless. I followed the instructions to the letter, but it won't find my router. And if I click the + to add it manually, nothing happens. Clicking + is completely pointless. I've uninstalled and reinstalled it 4 times now, but it still won't work.

Does not work on Pixel Xl v7.1.2, saw the plug once and never again,used my HTC One m8 v6.0, worked no problem, 3 stars since it doesn't work with newest OS. Update 10/2/17, app updated works with both Marshmallow and Nougat. Would like more flexibility with countdown schedule, limited to 3 hrs 59 minutes after sunset. Support was very responsive

A great tool. The setup is easy and straightforward but can be confusing. After installing the app, it is the 'setup' button of your phone that you need to go to first to connect to the signal transmitted when you plug in the unit to power. A common error I have noticed that frustrates people during setup is thinking it is the setup inside the Eco plugs app that is being referred to. I use it to auto-time my engine block heater to get my car ready every morning during winter. Saves me time and power. Thumbs up!!!

This app did not work at first. I have a S7 and the setting icon did not work. All I got was the "More" icon. After feedback from Eco team, it works now. The instructions should be more descriptive.

The app can't seem to find my router. The plugs connect to my phone just fine and have good signal. But when searching for a router the app stops doing anything. Can't even manually add a router

App not working. I follow the instructions from the app and website. I'm not able to click on anything but "MORE". Can't get to the setting tab. Tried this on two devices.

You need to be strong in puter skills. Not user friendly at all

This is a pretty bare-bones app, but it works well once you figure out the interface. It would be incredible if the developer added Google Home support!

App seems to work. Has Alexa support, needs Google home and/or smart things. Probably won't use much or buy more untill that happens.

Excellent, but read this before attempting install: The correct setting sequence is go into your Android's phone setting(Normally is as gear icon symbol)first and then select the ECO Wi-Fi to connect ECO XXX(NUMBER}.And then tap ECO Plugs App.

Nothing works. App is not able to find any wifi routers. Gonna return it if it doesn't work by tomorrow

Get stuck at "Checking connection" I followed the instructions precisely. After connecting to the hotspot, when I opened the app, it gets stuck in "Checking the connection"

Won't connect, despite my have a strong internet connection. Just wasted 20 bucks

Purchased plug don't even know if it works as the app doesn't. Very frustrating.

Okay so i was ready to scrap this thing but i finally figured it out. Plug in your wifi plug. Go to your wifi settings and look for a wifi network starting with "eco". Connect to it and then open the app. From there you can enter your wifi settings. If you open the app first, you will not be able to click on anything.

The app flashes the Eco Plugin logo in a loop. Works on wifes android not mine. Disappointed

Like others have said, the app refuses to respond to the SETUP icon. Thus, the unit is worthless. (It does respond to the 'More' and 'Email' buttons, but none of the others.)

Privacy/security issues. Transmits SDID/password to server in Taiwan.

Functions most of the time, but the UI is absolutely horrendous. Also, no widgets.

Downloaded the app. When you touch the setting button it dose not respond. Uninstalled the app and reinstalled three times. Nothing changed.

Installed, tapped settings & nothing opens. Tried & tried. Settings won't open. Useless.

Installed app. Nothing happens when I touch settings icon. Only icon that works is the 3 dots which brings up a list of q&a and setup instructions.

Worked Ok couple months ago. Now app doesn't Android 7.0. Reinstall works temporarily. IPhone/iPad works ok

It works great I went settings and then wifi and found Eco plug typed in my wifi password that,s it

A little tricky to get the order of what to hook up first but Alexa controls it perfectly
