Pada 31 Januari 2018 mendatang, bidang orbit Bulan berpotongan langsung dengan ekliptika Bumi, membuatnya akan masuk bayangan umbra Bumi sehingga Bulan akan tergerhanai dalam peristiwa gerhana Bulan tota.
