About Source (News Reader)

Simple, smooth, and fun. Source puts all of your news in one place!

Source pulls articles from different services such as Feedly, Twitter lists, Inoreader, RSS, and The Old Reader to give you all of the most up to date news that you are looking for. You can easily sign in to any of these services that you want to use and start personalizing your content to fit your needs, or you can choose from the default list of sources through Twitter.

Features:
- Beautiful, simple, and smooth user interface you'll love
- Tons of theming and color options to make make the app personalized to your favorite look
- Android Wear support to read your news right on your wrist
- Feedly,Twitter, Inoreader, The Old Reader, and RSS integration to find all of your favorites, all in one place
- View full articles in the app, not just summaries that Feedly or other services provide
- Chrome Custom Tabs support if you need to head to the webpage instead of just viewing the text

Source isn't a fully-featured replacement for services such as Feedly, and that isn't the goal! It won't allow you to add new subscriptions to each category or manage subcategories. Where Source shines is putting content right where you want it, all in one place so you can read what you want and skip past others without missing a beat. News is fun, easy and beautiful to look at!

Enjoy, and feel free to reach out to us if you've got any questions!

Great way to check ur Twitter Lists

The app has a smooth design with very intuitive features like inline article expansion. It has beautiful material design and a good selection of sources. It is smooth and has Android wear support as well.

It's has a cool look, but needs more polish and runs like crap on my phone. So stuttery. Back to Feedly I guess

N70%
by N####:

Bug that show repeated articles all time..Justified mode for text. The compact mode shouldnt show the favicon, just main image of the article. Gif support. Needs more types of views, not only compact or not compact mode.Pocket button. Need full screen mode while scrolling as Talon does, that hide the UI when possible. Also an option to revert the mark all as read and to organise the sidebar panel.Needs improvement, but if you correct that, it would be best top 5 rss app. Good work, but correct that ;) it hasnt been updated since a lot... Pleaasee

Another excellent app for news by an excellent dev of my fave app Evolve SMS. I just wish one thing, please allow us to search ANYTHING at all as flipboard used to do. As in any single word search everywhere for new articles matching any word for instance "turtles" or even a specific breed of turtle as in not just what's pre picked for me as in most popular topics but an extremely personalized news "source" which will search YouTube and Google, Quora, etc for any words put into favorites.. Then this app will be my one and only news app! Thanks dev... Please update this and sms messages. Talon is becoming for user friendly as well... Source is on its way!.....

Could be the best app but its buggy a lot. It repeats articles for example. On the other hand it looks like Luke abandoned this app. Too bad.

S70%
by S####:

No way to change back to unread for an article, no way to open a specific feed, no way to stay in article view and jump to the next article... All features that are must have for heavy rss users. Pathetic

S70%

The design of the app is amazing! the UI is beautiful.

If you are looking for news app that integrates Twitter and other sources.. This is it. Wonderfully done.

Normally I don't buy news reading apps because there are so many free ones in the store. But since this dev makes good apps such as talon and slide messages, I though I give this app a try. Sure, there are some flaws that need to be fixed. But so far so good, as long the updates keep on coming. One issue that keeps coming up is that I'm constantly getting the message telling me that the app has crashed, if I'm using the widget.

S70%
by S####:

The app looks great and manages to show more of the feed than other apps that just show a short summary. I was looking for a syncing replacement for Feedly because my work has blocked it. Source pulls all my feeds in from The Old Reader well but it's not syncing read articles back to TOR. Maybe it's not supposed to but I can't see the point of using an API to a third party if it doesn't. If sync is fixed or added, this would be my daily driver.

S70%
by S####:

Luv the look and feel, but can't stand the constant repeated articles. Same ones over and over. And if you leave and come back by any means it jumps you back to the top losing your spot. Some of the news sources are political trash.

S70%
by S####:

It has everything I could want in an app that has my news.

J70%
by J####:

Talon is my twitter client of choice so I thought source would be amazing too. Well it doesn't load the news reliable (inoreader) and it marks every article as read. The "complete article text" feature is nice but all the pictures or graphics embeded in the article are missing.

G70%
by G####:

Light weight and good UI. The widget only opens the articles. It needs to be able to open the app as well.

S70%
by S####:

Some feeds don't ever work even though they do in flym. And opml import never works for me but the same opml file works in flym.

B70%
by B####:

It has big problems with marking articles as read. Sometimes it will mark all articles as read without scrolling at all. When it doesn't do that, it's basic mark as read on scroll logic is pretty bad, it will mark any article as read as soon as a sliver of the article card/list appears on the screen, so in order to make sure you don't accidentally mark an article as read, you have to make sure you don't let the bottom most article fully scroll onto the screen. Annoying for a feed reader

C70%
by C####:

Thank. You. For this app. I looked everywhere, and this is the only app that lets you read ENTIRE articles on your watch!! Thank you!

I bought this app so that the endless search for a multi source news app could come to an end. This app has promise, but seeing as my news feed is separately organized from one device to another, it seems very half baked and unfinished. What I would love to see is an account system that links to the device's Google account that shares the sources for the articles. Otherwise, this app is a good start but lacks stability to be my daily driver for news.

D70%
by D####:

Amazing design for the app, best looking RSS reader by far. App is still a bit buggy though, also seemed to make my phone lag a bit so had to uninstall. Look forward to seeing further development in the future and hope that one day this will be my go to RSS reader.

S70%
by S####:

Revisiting this app: The animations are gorgeous and fluid. The only thing I could complain about is that favicons get mixed up between sites/feeds. It's an extremely small thing.

N70%
by N####:

Wonky at first but becomes quickly intuitive, seems to have syncing issues, and there is zero control for the wear app i could find. I hope to see new features and fixes in updates

L70%
by L####:

The design of the app is amazing! the UI is beautiful. it has so much potential! That said. it's super crashy on my Moto X. also, the text in the articles is really cramped. I would love to see an option to spread it out a bit more.

It's just that the websites wrong and empty icons are bugging me.. Keep up the good work!

Love the UI, bought it a few days ago, didn't like the app filled with tons of bugs, so asked for a refund. Now, bought it again and I must say it vastly improved. Still 1 thing bothers me, the app automatically marks all the articles read. Please please fix this... Thanks!

Been looking for an RSS reader with card design for a while. This seems like a good start, could do with some tweaks such as making the space between the cards the same size as the border but for the most part seems great.

N70%
by N####:

Not really a fan of this app. It's material, and looks nice. When it functions properly, it works great. Most of the time when it loads the newest articles, as soon as you read one article, it loads a whole new group of articles, completely. Good luck reading a article you saw ahead of the present one you're reading. Other times, it loads articles with the wrong source, or loads six or seven articles all in a row, repeatedly. Wrote the developer with no response as of yet.

N70%
by N####:

App crashes when trying to open it when not connected to any data or wifi. Yes it does fetch lots of full articles but I can't see progress so how do I know it's finished before data is unavailable. I can't see how many feeds I have to read. And it always makes the first feed as read when it downloads. Feeds marked as read don't change how they look until you change menu item. Update: And marks all as unread if manual is selected.

N70%
by N####:

One of the better newsreader apps out there right now, but still definitely in development. I use Feedly as my feed aggregator and connect Source to it. Source doesn't currently sync the read status of articles FROM Feedly after they've been downloaded; i.e., if I read an article on the desktop, then resync, it's still marked as unread on my device. Also, there is no unread article count. Add these features and the app would be a high 4. If it also showed the individual feed names under my Feedly categories so that I could select a single feed to read, it would be a solid 5.

E70%
by E####:

Aside from the issue with all Feedly articles bring marked as read, articles will occasionally have the right headline but the author, source and favicon from the wrong article. Could also benefit from a floating back to the top button.

It crashes on launch since the latest update. (Found a fix --- clear data then reboot.)

V70%

No readability functionality (that I can find in the settings), embedded images in the articles are not being displayed. Some articles have no text from the article. Needs a bit of work.

N70%
by N####:

Love the app, took a bit getting used to but smooth and looks great!! However in the pictures it shows both system and navigation bars in color but can't seem to find this function in the app? Any ideas? Keep up the great work!

N70%
by N####:

After having the app for less than 5 minutes, it decided to mark all of my Inoreader feeds as read, except for the podcasts.

N70%
by N####:

Thanks for making an all encompassing app for news! Unfortunately there is a glitch that marks all as read for feedly after reading just one article. In some cases, turning off the screen while reading an article will mark the whole column as read.

N70%
by N####:

I use it every day. One of the must have apps on my device. Does perfectly what is intended for. Improves reader's experience with every new update. Responsive developer. :)

I originally used this app back when it was still a beta and first launched on the Play Storefor some time, but ended up uninstalling it because it only seemed to show my twitter feed. I just recently rediscovered this app and I love it. The beautiful layout, transitions, and enjoyable experience make using this app an outter joy. This app helps you bring together many different sources to create the ultimate personally curated news feed available on Android.
