☆ If you have a Samsung Gear VR headset, you might have noticed that the App store that comes with it has nice high-end games and applications. But not very many, and the prices are high compared to other mobile apps. Meanwhile, there are other a thousand apps and games for Google Cardboard.
☆ For Gear VR lovers, you can now use your Gear VR headset with Cardboard apps and games without launching the default Gear VR app. As a result, the Oculus Home app will not be auto-launched until you enable them again.

How to use:
- Run this application, then TAP ON the IMAGE of the platform that you want to run, Cardboard app (right-side) or Gear VR app (left-side)
- In Gear VR mode (only run GearVR app), when you put your phone into the Gear VR headset, no matter what app is currently playing, it will automatic switch you into the Gear VR starting space. It's a giant living room with the app selection screen.
- In Cardboard mode (only run Cardboard app), simply load up the app like the way you normally do, then put the phone in the headset. But now, instead of it switching into Gear VR mode, the app continues to run and you can play it. You can even use the trackpad for your button.
- Advanced mode, Key Disabler and Calibrate Cardboard apps Viewer are optional.
Permission:
- This application requires Device Administrator permission (android.permission.BIND_DEVICE_ADMIN) to enable/disable packages. If you want to remove it, Go Setting -> Security -> deactivate Device Administrator permission of this app.
– This app uses Accessibility services (android.permission.BIND_ACCESSIBILITY_SERVICE): If you get trouble with Hard Key (Home Key) auto-pressing bug when putting your Samsung phone into Gear VR headset, this permission can help you resolve this bug by temporarily disable/enable Hard Key function.
How to uninstall:
- Open this app, select [Menu] (3-dots at top-right corner) and click on [Uninstall this app] to uninstall
How to add Home screen Widget:
- Go Home screen, press and hold on Home screen for 1 or 2 seconds.
- Select WIDGETS tab, find [Run Cardboard apps on Gear VR] then drag and drop widget to Home screen

It works great. Sometimes it glitches out and corrupts the Oculus software if you leave it in Cardboard mode for too many days, though I've figured out how to fix it when it happens. It's more complicated than it says to initially install; I also had to start my phone in safe mode to get it to work the first time (it did not want to recognize that I had removed all my accounts in settings for the install). But now it works fine.

Followed the instructions and it worked at first but now tells me that it can't run on my phone even though my model is listed and says the gear vr service is missing and said I should uninstall. I did so and now my gear vr service is blocked and I can't use it.

I'm rooted, so I didn't have the "needs root" issue--but the developer tells you a way to get around this when you install the app. So you can try it without buying the Pro-version, which does work with non-rooted phones. I'm giving this app five stars, because it works perfectly for me. Non-rooted users can apply the fix, or even better, just root your phones.

I came from the CB loader app since that one stopped working due to some "error license" message. This app is awesome! Works exactly as advertised. You HAVE TO, and I mean have to, follow every step it says. Buying the paid app is the only way it works. Wonderful. Allows Gear VR owners to temporarily disable the auto start of Oculus software when inserted into gear VR allowing loading of cardboard apps instead. Those not giving 5 stars likely dont know what it's for

It was a rip off. Only few games work on my gear vr, with very bad and blurry images making me feel sick. Most of the cardboard games do not work at all. I whish I could get my money back...

Works perfectly, exactly like I wanted it to work. To those who have no idea what root is, just google it, ull eventually find it out. Just dont say "it doesnt work" by giving it 1 star without knowing what youre doing. If you arent sure if you have root or not, then you dont have it. Ive tested this on a samsung s7 on android nougat and it works!
