This application contains information about local services for everyone living and working in the Ards, North Down and Down area.

It is a particularly useful resource for newcomers to the region. Whether you hail from other parts of Northern Ireland, or are resettling migrants from farther afield we welcome you and hope you get the most out of living here.

It’s not always easy to live in a new place. Everything feels different and it can take time before you call this your ‘home’. Hopefully this application will make things easier by letting you know what support services are available - and where to find them!

The area covers nearly 2,500 km² and encompasses many towns including Bangor, Newtownards, Comber, Saintfield Ballynahinch and Downpatrick. Over half a million people live here.

People can be very friendly and curious in Northern Ireland. Please do not think you are being singled out if you are asked, ‘Where are you from? Are you here long? Are you here for good? Why did you come here?’ These are questions commonly asked of any newcomer to a locality in Northern Ireland – no matter where they have come from!
