We keep pesto in cupboard not fridge so couldn't add where wanted. All items would come up in all sections. Also need to be able to add items that aren't on list. Should be able to choose measurement because some of the units were ridiculous like how many teaspoons of instant coffee when we have 300g jars. Everything else is good. Do like this app though.

E70%
by E####:

Need a greater selection of food items, portion sized are wrong meant to be 70g of meat/fish per person per day! Health and environmental hazards if eat more than that!

Great app

I found that I couldn't find some of the food we have. Also we have grown our own, so when brought wasn't any good either. Very limited, but handy. I'd like to be able to change the weight input as well. We have got 3lb of courgette transfering that to grams was a pain.

M70%
by M####:

Agree with the other reviews, this app doesn't allow users to add items that aren't already included and the list is too limited. For example it will only recognise the following items in a freezer: peas, sweetcorn, ice cream, berries, sliced apples and rosemary! This makes the app unusable, which is a shame, as it is a good idea.

M70%
by M####:

If you just free-add that would greatly improve this app. Also, if you could store meat in the freezer?

A70%
by A####:

Deleted, thought it might be able to give me meal ideas for my left overs. Did it heck.

G70%
by G####:

Good app IF you can add portions rather than grams. You can put meat in freezer. You can free add foods. Uninstalled

M70%

Great features to help me save money and waste less food, and much improved in the latest version!

So had a practice using the app.....it's currently my week before payday so trying to be more resourceful with what I have rather than buy stuff. The recipes that are coming up say I have one of the required ingredients but have to go and buy another 12...... and I can't add simple things like rice.

J70%

Simple app that lets me bake cakes from my leftovers!!

M70%
by M####:

Only the recipes are accessible can't get shopping trolly which is important. I don't just want recipes

M70%
by M####:

Tried to sign in as didn't want to sign in using Facebook but would scroll any further than how many children, very annoyed as then had to sign on using Facebook

Q70%
by Q####:

Ltd choice of foods.Could we not scan in barcodes to show the food? This would help with making receipe. Needs a favourite button as some people may always have a certain product in the cupboard. Need to be able to choose weights for any food/ or quantity if say using three bananas rather than grams. Work on it and it will be great tool to cook healthy and save wasting food. shame as it was recommended by prima magazine!!

M70%
by M####:

Great idea but found the list of foods too limited to be able to use this. Able to say you have pork, but not if it's chops or a roasting joint or belly. Also doesn't seem to think that these goods can be frozen, only able to list meat in the fridge. Wish there was an option to put what you want in as free text.

M70%
by M####:

Yes the app is a good idea in itself but there needs to be more variety. I couldnt even find 'chicken' in the fridge items nor broccoli or the most basic of stuff. I would also say if they could incorporate the use of 'scanning' items this would be alot easier to use and to also kep track of the items you have bought as this would also save time of having to find each ingredient look on the pack for weight of each item. Its used on 'my fitness pal' so why not here ?

S70%

Not a big choice of food. Won't let me manually add my own meals to planner. Rubbish.

D70%
by D####:

I downloaded this to make a better inventory of my freezer because I forget what is in there and often waste food in the fridge. It is a little limited in the recipes, but the freezer option is the most frustrating. The picture is always of a basket, where other apps have a few basic pictures that give a better indication of what the food is. There is also no option of writing notes. If I throw away the box, or homecook something, notes about the calories, cooking time, thawing etc. would be helpful. So this app isn't really helpful for me and a pen and paper would be easier.

The app shut down when I tried to enter my own recipes. After a few attempts I became frustrated and uninstalled it. Good app in theory, but needs work!!

I love the recipes on the website now I have them at the touch of a button on my phone. Great app easy to use

Absolutly rubbish. Wont let me add my food items. Waste of time.

Excellent app if you want to keep track of food in your fridge/cupboard and find neat recipes to make the most of your ingredients! Highly recommended!

On my galaxy tab 3 it just hangs at the opening screen. Shame cos I've looked at the website and wanted to find out more.

Keeps crashing

X70%
by X####:

Great idea in theory, but not enough choice in the ingredients to make it really useful. Would be great to be able to just scan barcodes to enter food onto the app as you buy it. Would also be good to be able to put own entries in rather than just select from a list to be able, for example, to record meals made and frozen and not just raw ingredients, to help with planning meals.

D70%
by D####:

Very useful app to help plan my meals. Especially like the find a recipe from what you have already feature. I think it could do with a bit more flexibility with input, having to scroll through long lists to find the item you are after is a bit tedious, especially if what you are looking for is not there. I would also like to see an import recipe option

X70%
by X####:

My favourite feature of the app is the recipes - really useful when you're stuck for inspiration or have something to use up in the fridge and aren't sure what to do with it. The shopping list and meal planner are both really handy tools to have, too.

X70%
by X####:

I may be biased but great to see these new improvements on the App.

T70%

This is brilliant, great source of information, recipes, advice etc. I've now got dinner planned to use up the food that's close to the end of its best.

W70%
by W####:

Great app but would have given 5 stars if I could also add my own foods to the ingredients list.

J70%
by J####:

There isn't enough food to pick from in the selection. In the freezer part of only has about 5 options. I get frozen chicken but there wasn't an option for this

Q70%
by Q####:

But it's free, so I can't cavil too much. It took a while to discover how to use the fridge/cupboard/freezer contents section (you tap the top shelf - now I KNOW I should have known this - but I didn't), and I don't put in quantities or dates, because I won't be using it like that.. I use the website a lot, and this is an extension. But I really would like to be able to add my own choices. For example, I don't eat meat or fish, so it's waste of space for me. It's useful, but needs more input from users. If I want to remind myself about shopping - I'm on a very tight budget - I have a diary or a list which I take out with me.

L70%
by L####:

will only allow me to put certain foods that are in a very limited list of their choice...... cannot put in every food / herb /drink etc that i have in my cupboard/ fridge or freezer so not really helpful

Q70%
by Q####:

I thought this was going to be a fantastic app. The idea is brilliant and the app would be if you could add your own foods instead of relying on the limited items available. The only inspiration and use I got from this app was how to make my own Kitchen Spread Sheet on Excel. I expected more from LFHW shame on you

Q70%
by Q####:

Nice idea but can't find bananas (one of our frequent throw away items) and it crashed 4 times during my first brief use.

Q70%
by Q####:

You're meant to be able to enter the food you already have in your kitchen but you have to choose from a very, VERY small list. Why not let me enter my own food?? Only four options for freezer food and none of them are meat?? Carrots aren't available to choose as an option?? The app crashes out every time I try to update my 'cupboard' and force closes pretty much every time I use it. This could be a great app. Let us choose from a much wider range of foods and fix the bugs. Has been uninstalled.

Q70%
by Q####:

On first impressions it looks like this could be a useful app to help use up fresh food. From a - admittedly very quick - look around, one thing I would find useful - which I couldn't find - would be the option to put fruit & veg in as units, e.g. 4 bananas, rather than by weight. Most recipes seem to use units rather than weight, and as most of my fruit and veg comes in a veg box, I have no idea how much it all weighs!

Very disappointed would love to be able to use this application but I can not even get it to open.
