This Spot Smile app is based on cognitive bias modification (CBM), a new technique that aims to alter harmful thought patterns. By focusing on smile images, it can subtly re-train your brain to shift attention away from nasty images and towards more pleasant images. A growing body of research shows that shifting negative biases is surprisingly easy and has effects on how well people cope in a stressful situation.
It is suggested to play this game at least once a day, you may do it while commuting.

Easy to use, only takes couple of minutes per day and a lot of research seems to be encouraging people to start using. Click on the coloured bar on bottom graph for top graph to appear

Does seem to improve one's psychological wellbeing. I hope they keep adding more faces as time goes on. Adding your own pictures seems counter intuitive as you would pick them far too readily.

It's not fancy but it does it's job. Lacks variation with the faces like other similar apps. Instead of looking genuinely happy the "smiling" faces often look reserved and pretentious. Not a good app but not terribly bad either.

To get top line on graph to work just tap on one of the bars on bar graph. Interesting to observe performance at different times of day. Seem to do best when I feel worst - silver lining stuff...
