About Life Calendar - Your life in weeks

"It kind of feels like our lives are made up of a countless number of weeks. But there they are—fully countable—staring you in the face." — Tim Urban, waitbutwhy.com

Life Calendar helps you visualize your life by breaking it down to weeks and displaying it in a grid. Each week is symbolized by a little box, and each box can be color coded. A note can be added to each week, and with it you can capture any thoughts, dwellings, feelings, or reflections you cherish during that time.

Features

• Your entire life’s weeks, one by one, visualized in a grid.
• Cherish your life by adding a note to each week.
• One note every week, 52 notes every year.
• Define each week with color by choosing from a growing array.
• Take and store snapshots of your entire life, either in weeks or years.
• Export your notes and save them anywhere by using Life Notebooks.
• Store your Life Calendar with accounts and keep it backed up and available across multiple devices.
• Custom reminders make sure you never forget to take a note.

Imagine the perspective you'd get on your life if you keep taking weekly notes for a year or two! Wouldn't that be really helpful?

Simple but effective. Looks sleek. You should allow for variable years though. What if I'm older than 90 or have a terminal illness?

P70%
by P####:

I can't see the start and the ending of a week, the color coding for years isn't working and also you should add year labeling.

Y70%
by Y####:

Lovely app to track your life one week at a time. Especially great for procrastinators. Also, I love its effect on making sure you don't waste your time.

D70%
by D####:

So far so good, elegance in it's simplicity, will give it a spin for a few weeks and then consider the subscription. I look forward to seeing how this app will develop.

I70%
by I####:

Notified that registration/login was fixed. Worked. Simple and useful. Thx

Y70%
by Y####:

This app is fantastic and easy to use. There's just one thing I would add that would make it even better, in my opinion- the ability to see your entire life in weeks. Since this app was inspired by that 'Your Life In Weeks' post, and is presumably targeting people who are interested in such things, it would be nice to see your entire life in weeks laid out on one page, rather than seeing your life in years and your year in weeks.

R70%
by R####:

I started going through the tutorial, but halfway through I was faced with a blank page. I closed the app and the tutorial restarted, however I faced the same problem again. This is a cool concept, but I can't use it because the app doesn't work.

Y70%
by Y####:

I can barely notice the blinking grid. Only from year 17 can be used . Need some work on additional and impressive and engaging features.

Y70%
by Y####:

Animation between screens is annoying. # of screens to move through is annoying. UI is annoying. Pretty garbage app overall, and subscription model ($2/month $20/year) is laughable

Y70%
by Y####:

Love the concept and approach to design. Though feel the cost of upgrading is too high £2month/£18 year isn't value in my mind. Will stick with free version for now and look for to future enhancements.

V70%
by V####:

Man, really nice idea but your onboarding process is too long and too boring, i just kept reading and reading. I get you made this app, but i need to know what this is and how to use it quickly. No?

Y70%

Subscription required to export data.

Z70%

Helpful to be able to add photos, links, location, etc., of events or places

Y70%

It is a very good application but you must update it

Y70%
by Y####:

Simply excellent representation and nice thought. But there should have been option to export your content via mail or a document

Simple and love it

I genuinely like this for what it is, it was exactly what I had looked for - one thing, though; I haven't yet had the chance to look for an option like this, but I think you can't number the weeks or somehow distinguish weeks and months from others (other than colourcode)

E70%
by E####:

Helpful to be able to add photos, links, location, etc., of events or places

N70%
by N####:

Too confusing to use. No dates are shown and everything being birthday dependent rather than with standard year format makes it hard to plan things. Also having the option to add deadlines and reminders would be nice.

N70%
by N####:

I like the basics of the app a lot but wish that I could look up specific dates to add past notes or events. I also wish I could add goals, have a count down to complete those goals, and set reminders for them when the date arrives.

N70%
by N####:

Love the app, but it doesn't really work intuitively. First my Nexus 6P doesn't even show current week indication. Then... can it just show normal 52 week years? Like if it's June show it in the middle, not birthday dependent. Also a full life week view would be awesome. Instead of starting at the birth date you can just indent the first row. I also want to know more about the paid features, but even the FAQ section doesn't explain it well. I'd love to use the app, but so far it has been difficult.

A70%
by A####:

Really like the idea of the app. Nicely done, with simplicity in mind. But, to extend the users flexibility in how to use it, could you add the option of viewing all the weeks of the 90 years in one chart, in opposition to seeing the weeks displayed inside each year? This would put in perspective how many weeks you still have in your life, which is a more dynamic and representative way of seeing your life progress than only seeing the years or only seing the weeks in a one year span.

N70%
by N####:

But It shows me that curr3nt week is 47 and it 2. May...? Whats with that, so confusing.

N70%
by N####:

Does what it says, little to no bugs, I do accidentally change the color for a year by accident and it would be great if the years were locked

N70%
by N####:

Great app! Puts things in perspective

K70%

I would like to be able to store it on my sd card. If I keep this up, I don't want it on my device. (note 4) I will try using it but have been poor at doing this in past attempts on paper. Maybe my phone will be different. Also possibly a password to "lock" my life's story so that I could give a true narration without hurting any feelings of those who would read it should curiosity influence them. Thanks.

N70%
by N####:

After typing a note, when I tried to long-press select a word to replace, it deleted everything I'd written instead ...3 times. Not good for a 'diary app'. I love the idea, but I'll wait until the ratings show improvement.

W70%
by W####:

I really want to love this; however, I'm not entirely sure how to begin using its features. It tells me, "you're XX years old, and this little circle is your birthday," but the little circle is on my NEXT birthday -- that is, my current birthday +1. That's fine, but the app should default to the CURRENT week in the CURRENT birthday year. [Edit: based on dev reply, app world be more satisfying if user could assign a calendar date to first entry.]

N70%
by N####:

First i would like to see password locking, i don't want anybody to read my private thoughts. Another must have feature is date stamp on the notes. Also there should be a marker for the current year and week. A website would be also more then welcome so i can enter the note from pc. Hope you can add this features and make this 5 star review.

N70%
by N####:

The only way to enter your birthday (and you have to) is by paging back, month by month, though a calendar . Then you have to click through page after page of instructions. After wasting ten minutes on on this I finally gave up on it. Sorry, there were absolutely no other options presented to me other then a calendar interface. But I'll tell you what, I did like the concept so I'll try installing it again and see if it was corrupted during the install. OK, I installed in on my phone and you are correct. I had the issue on my Nexus 7 so I'll install it on there to see if I can do it. I will say, that with all the dialogue you present (which is nice) you should start off with a tip about the date. Bumping to 3 starts until I test the tablet. I created an account, see if that helps too.

N70%
by N####:

I'm not sure why the app doesn't automatically go to the current week. It highlights your birth week and current year a different color but I can't figure out which is the current week. I mean I could do the math but... Come on... In this day and age isn't my phone supposed to do that part for me? It would even be nice if you clicked a week and it said a date. But it just says week 27 or week 1. I honestly make use of so many apps that the ones I do choose have to be simple and as easy to use as possible.

I've tried twice to enter notes, only to find they haven't saved. The first time it was because after writing a note I was invited to create an account, which would wipe all information I've entered. The second time, my account was already established, I signed in, wrote my note, and *poof* it is nowhere to be found. OnePlus, Lollipop, Cyanogen 12

I still havnt gotten thru it and no apparent way to get thru it faster... annoying! Tried again, stuck on year, no idea how to finish the tutorial... still havnt got thru tutorial, offering me the app doesnt help if i cant even open it!

Suggestions: 1. Widget 2. More color options 3. Stickers maybe? 4. Reminders like "You have 10 weeks left this year, make a good use of them"

Hi, I was waiting for something like this. A few suggestions to make this app even better. An account to sync all of the info you put in the app, it would be great to be able to track this when someone upgrades their phone, loses it etc. An efficient method to grey out many squares at once. Also maybe the ability to make a snapshot of your whole life in weeks like in wait but why a pdf maybe?

Just downloaded app and like the premise of it. Also enjoyed the intro, personalised for my life which is a nice touch. Maybe suggest an option for push notifications at the end of each week (maybe Friday or Sunday) as a reminder to make a note
