What are users saying about Astro File Manager (File Explorer)

Astro is useful. It would be great if it had just one decent format. Let us set one view for all directories sick of setting the same view on every directory. Let me turn off those stupid icon they take up most of the space &add NOTHING.

E70%
by E####:

is there a way to NOT show history. under display I can turn off favorites and other things but there's no way to turn off recents. I have private files which I do NOT want shown by default yet if I access any of them there they are for anyone to see. this Is enough of a problem to cause me to uninstall Astro.

J70%
by J####:

Deletes video files! I tried several apps that claimed to, but could not really delete videos. Astro does it. Click and hold file name to get trash can. (I originally dinged one star because I really wished it had a list view. List view was an option in settings, but did not actually work.) Woohoo! New update has working list mode! So much better for video files! Astro has been flawless for me so far, other than that one thing, now fixed. Great customer response!

by U####:

I purchased to use for wireless sharing to and from my linux computer, works great. I only wish I could apply a dark theme, the orange color scheme doesn't suit my sensibilities. great app in any case.

P70%
by P####:

ASTRO makes its bad file editor the default for opening text and html files. No way to remove it as default. ASTRO makes its grid view the default every time you update astro. No help available for these problems. Used to be the best, not even top 10 now.

U70%
by U####:

Does everything I want it to do. No complaints. Easy to use. Can't remember seeing an add on it (though it's free so maybe there are? Haven't noticed them anyway).

U70%
by U####:

Overall I'm happy with it and find it quite useful. Since the last update, I've changed my rating from 4 stars to 5. I've tried a few file managers on my Android, and this is the one I keep coming back to and using regularly.

by H####:

This beautiful app does what it says. Needs some improvements UI for shining in this competitive world of similar apps. However, I like this apps simple system which is very easy to use as a good file manager. Thank you, Dev.Team.

L70%
by L####:

I like the older version. I accidentally updated this and now I'm stuck with a new worthless app. The older version worked perfectly.

U70%
by U####:

The new UI is awful AND highly UNcustomisable: Favourites are shoved to the bottom (requires vertical scrolling), and then only shows a handful (without horizontal scrolling). Old UI allowed hiding the stuff I didn't want (or more specifically only showing what I did want), AND used the full vertical length of the display.

U70%
by U####:

First action I tried was renaming a folder. It not only failed it deleted the folder and all contents then asked me to send an error report. Very, very unimpressed.

A70%
by A####:

It's pretty good except that It CONSTANTLY bothers you to enable all permissions if you don't let it have access to your contacts... So moving on to another file app

M70%
by M####:

I like the older version. The new UI is terrible and it removed quick access to the favorites from the drop down menu on the left. Really sad.

U70%
by U####:

Good app. I'm using the paid version and it's working perfectly. It has proved to be a good alternative to the file manager system I was using on my old BlackBerry phone as it is easy to transfer files to Dropbox which was the reason I purchased it.

J70%
by J####:

If in 2018 an android file manager doesn't support OTG between a phone and a usb flash drive then it only deserves 2 stars no matter the quality of the other features

U70%
by U####:

Please Keep Individual Folder View settings intact. Individual Folder View Settings is main reason I am using this app. N This unique feature make special among all other File managers

F70%
by F####:

Not as fully featured as some, but it's easy to use and works without hassles. I always seem to fall back to using it.

T70%
by T####:

This app is really effective in sorting and keeping track of files. Being able to pick and choose your search parameters is a great way for the visual learner to understand exactly what they've got on their device. Astro hasn't let me down yet.

U70%
by U####:

I've used Astro for years installed it on at least 20 devices for friends. Having to set my views each time I use it to detail views and not being able to go into the hidden root files are my only minor complaints.

G70%
by G####:

An all-around full-service file manager. Error reporting seems broken, the hard-coded email address bounces. Also problems with networking to a 64-bit Windows 10 computer.

U70%
by U####:

Bugs not fixed even after many updates: 1. Thumbnails duplication (overlapping of same thumbnail to all files) 2. In display setting a blank option to choose small , medium, large below list directories first option

U70%
by U####:

Please bring back the EXIT button. It's annoying to press 3-4 times to close the application.

D70%
by D####:

Can't move files from device to SD Card without some reoccuring complicated "picker" issue which STILL doesn't seem to get resolved. Ended up deleting everything .... including this app :0(

U70%
by U####:

A great app. But please add the feature of creating a new file, right now only folders can be created. Please add this feature

U70%
by U####:

It really amuse me on how this app works, I can simply upload all my files in a folder to cloud services, user friendly and love it so much, I would give a hug and donate for this great creation. I love you all.

U70%
by U####:

The local folders it finds fine, but simply cannot see anything on my local network. Es is great at this, makes accessing network shares easy, but this app doesn't even see them.

U70%
by U####:

Locked up my tablet so badly that I had to do a cold boot. Twice. It won't get a third chance. Uninstalled.

U70%
by U####:

I have tried numerous file managers and ASTRO is by far the best. Hands down the perfect file manager. I can do everything i can on a PC. Move files sort files and delete... It's amazing for organizing all of your files

U70%
by U####:

Used ES Explorer for a while but it got too pushy with 'extra' programs, and went back to Astro.

U70%
by U####:

Best app I've used so far works great for every need I've had such as moving files copying files renaming files and folders changing extensions unzipping files and moving files to the SD card which was supper important to my needs

U70%
by U####:

Paid for it, and now I can't connect to my cloud server, and it's too late for a refund, soooo.... Yeah.

T70%
by T####:

One of the best file managers on Android but crashes a lot for me when copying files to smb and ftp. Or copying/moving large files 1GB in size or more.

SD Card Write Permission error On Oreo Android 8.0. App force closed. Please fix this. Please fix this.

K70%
by K####:

Indispensable file manager for Android. Supports copying to/from Google drive and Dropbox, I use the SD card usage tool all the time. A must have for Android users.

U70%
by U####:

Still dun hv "exit" function in the menu. This version move favourites from side menu to dashboard. This make it troublesome when I want to "jump" to one of my favorites which I used to b able to do so simply from the side bar. Pls review this change!

E70%
by E####:

Good, but like most apps these days they dumb down the ui and--thinking they're making things better--make it worse for a substantial set of users.

U70%
by U####:

Good file manager. Only Nick pick us that when you open a photo to view, you can't swipe to the next photo. I remember the older versions I could do this.

U70%
by U####:

Excellent file manager. Includes local, network and cloud access. Intuitive interface. Usual quirks.

U70%
by U####:

Liked this version because it doesn't have ads unlike the previous ones. If ads are integrated in future again there will be 1 ???? from my side.
