Got some good choices of music & would have given it 5* if it actually worked for a while without it freezing & completely shutting down. I try to search for artists & it just goes blank.. completely blank & stops playing the music I was listening to. I've had to uninstall the app 5 times because that the only way it will work again. Sort it out!

I pay the $10 a month to listen to many playlists already made for whatever mood I'm feeling. Whether I'm driving or getting ready they've got a playlist for any activity. Might just cancel it someday and play my own synchronized music list when I get more, but for now it's a payable rate. That and every other pay/free app is mostly a radio station app, look up a song and play ones similar to that. Don't need another Pandora app just want something I can look up 99% of the music available today.

I came from Windows Phone to Android, but love Microsoft services. Let me be clear: Groove is an incredible app. But on Android it is inferior to the Windows standard app. If I click on an artist and then wish to play their entire song repertoire I have on my device by clicking the "show all" button, the screen goes essentially blank. I can't view my songs from a single artist. Add that feature and the app will be exactly the same as your Windows alternative, Microsoft! I know you can do it!

Very basic music streaming app Cannot play music stored locally on the device. Syncing with music on OneDrive seems painfully slow compared to Play Music. AI generated playlists which are present in the Windows 10 version are missing in Android version Yet another half thought out, half finished effort from Microsoft

It would be nice to be able to control my Microsoft groove on my Xbox One with my Microsoft groove app on my phone. It would cut down on a lot of time. More helpful especially if you online gaming and can't pause. You would simply grab your phone boot up the app and control what music is played and volume controls.

Great app except when using the radio feature. It constantly stops playing and when hitting play I get an error 'cant play that song'. I am a subscriber and do not have the same issues on my surface, xbox or my old iPhone.

Downloaded simply because I wanted a more seamless way to control music between my Surface and phone. Works good, but there are times when the music will take long to start. My biggest complaint is having to have all your music on onedrive. It's a nice solution, but it only works when there's decent signal. So storing music locally would be the best option to avoid this. Yes, you can download the song for offline usage, but it will only save to the device's memory. On Windows 10 pcs and phone groove supports sd cards. So I think it's time Microsoft pushes an update to make groove for android sd card compatible.

This app is very flawed. As much as I love Microsoft and their products, since discontinuing the Zune brand player and apps, things have gone downhill. The newer Xbox and groove music apps are clunky and not user friendly. Groove doesn't remember what has been downloaded and won't read music saved on my phone. It constantly freezes and crashes and searching for music never yields results. I've had a Zune music pass since 2011, maybe it's time to change.

The app is simple enough to use which for me would be enough for flawless marks, however, the playback on songs is poop.. You select a song in your playlist to play which then takes God knows how long to actually start playing, you lose interest in listening to it.... Until this is fixed one way or another I will be sticking with Spotify

Until groove is able to support sd card storage, this app is virtually useless for me. I cannot splurge on music streaming while away from wifi, as this will eat up my data, and I simply do not be enough space on my 32gb internal storage to store all of my music. The app is very unpredictable. Either it is very slow or very fast, hardly any in between. There is no select all feature to automatically make albums available offline. This means that if you have over 30 albums, you can potentially be sitting there for hours clicking endlessly. The sync between groove and one drive is good, which actually was the number 1 reason for me wanting to try out groove. There are other issues but they are rather trivial, and not worth the time to talk about. It is just one of those polish factors which make an app go from good to amazing. Overall, I want to love this app, but I simply cannot use it properly, for my purposes, in its current state. I am hopeful it will be fixed, but until then, go with google play music or spotify. Atleast there you can manage your storage a little bit better.

I love this service but the Android app is buggy. lots of songs give an error saying "can not play" or "can not download" why are these song on the service if they can't be played/downloaded? When I download something the notification shows up showing the progress and when the download is complete it says download error even though the download has been completed successfully. Also when are we going to get the update that changes your groove to To recommended and music videos

S70%
by S####:

Good songs. Nice playlists. Great radio feature. When om shuffle it typically ends the playlist when playing the last song in the mix. Its annoying as hell. Now offline playlists wont download for me. Left it overnight and nothing. Im on a Samsung J5.

by S####:

I have a subscription too groove music and love it on my other devices. On Android the app won't let me download a lot of the songs in my Playlist... I get numerous download errors

S70%
by S####:

Good app, however I would like to suggest adding the ability to change the download location to the SD card. That is the only roadblock for making this my all time go to app.

S70%
by S####:

Great app, has lots of song, easy to use, I love it. my only complain is that you can't install your music on the external memory, i would give it 5 stars if this was posible

S70%
by S####:

It takes at least 3 minutes before the music I pick will even play. Long delays in skipping songs. Needs a little updating and it will be a good 5 star app.

T70%

This app Ticks many boxes, amazing collection of songs, play list syncing/ saving and works with sonos. But the reason for my one star rating is this,.. The app crashes, about once every two days. Sometimes the app even requires reinstalling to be able to resume playing music, this requires all my songs to be downloaded again. Microsoft you are a large company, surely you have the capability to sort this out now. I'd rate five out of five if the app stopped crashing

J70%
by J####:

Great app, can dl and play your music across multiple devices, still to expensive. Plans needs to be a little cheaper, but you get a huge library for the price, I'd be surprised if you couldn't find an album or song on here. There are moments of inconsistency with this app though, It randomly has moments where it shuts off. But those moments are far less than say Pandoras commercials, and I believe is computer related. The number one thing about this app, is you dl your music and listen to it on the go, no need for internet, and it won't crash. I like it and prefer it over any other music subsciption out there. Just wish it was a couple dollars cheaper.

S70%
by S####:

Good selection of music, good interface, but no gapless playback and no equalizer support kinda kills it. Plus it stops playing music randomly and only a force stop will get it back.

S70%
by S####:

This app is pretty awesome now. My only gripes are that I had to convert my FLAC library to MP3, and the app is slow to start playing music. Otherwise, terrific.

S70%
by S####:

I use this app alot, but it takes a very long time to load any song and play it. I wait for countless minutes just to hear a song. This problem even occurs when I have a song downloaded and available offline. Please fix this Microsoft.

S70%
by S####:

Every new version is improving! I think Microsoft should release a free version (with ads) for everyone who doesn't want to subscribe, that way sharing Playlists would with non-subscribers would actually make sense. Some things can be improved, but it is faster at loading and syncing than ever! Still needs driver friendly mode.

Seamless access to my music on OneDrive. No issues with offline playback. No SD on my Pixel XL so can't validate or deny any complaints there.

F70%
by F####:

Pros - wide selection of music. Cons - you never know when the app will work. Saying it's offline when I clearly have a connection. Stopping mid-track, for no apparent reason. Crashing. Just not playing the music, no errors or prompts, just not starting. And now, as I am writing this review, it suddenly TURNED ITSELF ON and started playing the track I tried to play for the last 30 minutes. Full blast. Thanks, I am not in the car anymore, in on a meeting. It took two months to piss me off, and you did it, congratulations. Your patches and updates are fixing nothing, too. I wonder if you even read the reviews.

Groove is great to use when streaming your own music from Ondrive. On my pc I create my playlists on itunes and transfer them to groove. As a result I have a tidy and fast streaming experience without having to pay monthly rates to play my own music. Groove works for me!

S70%
by S####:

Compared to Spotify it takes a bit longer to load, start and sometimes pauses in song to download song. Also please unless I missed how to download to my SD card please work with that issue. Two disappointing things. 1. I primarily use my smartphone and often come across albums that have missing songs. I think if played through my Xbox ill be able to have access to all the songs. That was kinda disappointing. A little disorganization of albums and artists. Not sure if I'm in the m' or A's. The application did fair on using phone resources such as ram. Kinda a big file along because of where I only can download songs, draws up alot of storage. Sorry Microsoft with this application I give u 3.5 stars where compared to Spotify it's real close to a 5. Thank you for the free time to explore your music app. But for the price and accessibility options. Spotify got you beat.

Navigation needs a lot of work. What happened to being able to jump to artist by clicking on a tiled letter? Also please separate search for groove music pass and the music I actually own. I want to search within the music I own and it brings up results for groove music pass. I just want to search my own music!

K70%

Pretty decent selection compared to other streaming services. Kendrick Lamar album was delayed about a day compared to official release for example. Download option is very useful.

D70%

The new update why? Worked perfect before the update. Now songs won't even download to my offline playlist. Thinking about getting rid of my membership since this latest version.

D70%
by D####:

Why no SD card support? Zune and now Groove were great on Windows devices and the amount of music in the database is strong. I saved all of my purchased music (from Zune/Groove) on an SD card and installed it in my android device, But I cannot play it unless I am on a WiFi network.. All of the saved music plays on Google play and Samsung music apps..

S70%

Better than crap apple music but could learn a lot from spotify with the playlist. But over all enjoying n can't fault it.

G70%
by G####:

Pretty good selection but after a few minutes of use the app tends to freeze for second somtimes I have to skip a song before it starts up again, and the happens on my phone and tablet, would be a great app if it weren't for this problem

S70%
by S####:

This app is stupid, worse than Pandora! I have groove on my computer with plenty of music but none of it transferred to my phone. Only let's you listen to 30seconds of any song unless you pay. Gtfo.

I70%
by I####:

The app fails to find some of the music in my OneDrive, which is disappointing because I have a lot of music there. Also, it doesn't seem possible to filter search results between music in the catalogue and music in my library.

S70%
by S####:

The offline capability needs a lot of improvement. It constantly fails during offline play.

F70%
by F####:

App frequently takes 5 or more minutes to start playing each time the app is started. It also crashes most of the time when I switch from WiFi to cellular data.

U70%
by U####:

Not good at all. The app won't open without an Internet connection. What's the point of downloading the playlists then? Feels like a beta app overall

D70%
by D####:

Can't listening to anything not one song will play and I subscribed. Pl us I wouldn't be able to use it offline, not that it matters because I can't use it anyway.

J70%
by J####:

You guys need to seriously fix it 90% of my songs won't play cause it says sorry but this song can't be played I would give this app a 5 star if u guys fix it first

W70%
by W####:

Only use it as it's on xbox, shame Google music isn't as its far superior to this, this one has poor titles it's very slow, has issues downloading for off line play, and the shuffle is terrible it keeps playing the same thing over and over again, and what's with all the copies of the the original artist thing I hate when you find a tune only for it to be a copy and a bad one at that, it's not like Microsoft hasn't the cash to make this work properly yet it doesn't.
