About Hammock Tools

Hammock Tools calculates how high you should hang your hammock and how long the suspension should be if you can estimate the distance between trees. It also takes into account the angle of your hammock, the length of your ridgeline and how high you want to be off the ground. The best thing about it? You don't need an internet connection or cell signal to use it! Have fun hanging!

Get the diagram. Android has long since left the menu button off years ago. Developer should add a diagram button so we can access the diagram. Adding a clinometer would be useful as well. Other than that, it does what it says it does in a simple interface.

I like the concept and the calculator is very helpful, but there is no way I can get to the illustration. It says click on the menu button that is not specifically designated as such.

I found this to be very helpful for calculating my anchors in a room. NOTE: there is no menu icon... so on samsung phones try a long press on the back key to view the diagram.

Just installed so limited experience - but for those who can't access the diagram, try this: press and hold the task switcher / recent tasks button on the very bottom of your device - the one with a square, or two overlapping squares (depending on your device). Doing a long-press on that brings up the menu. The developer should update the app to provide this access on screen...

Menu button from Android update (a few versions ago) not available. Can't see the diagram.

Don't want to do math. Is the app based on a standard length of hammock, and if so what is it?I was thinking my xxl 11 ft hammock would end up with a hang at seat height lower than my double 10 ft hammock when looking at the app. But using the app there is no where to change the hammock length. I would have to change the ridge line too, but wouldnt the suspension be shorter to get the same seat height? Seems like this is a missing piece of the hammock hanging calculator I'd like to see in future revisions.

Basic and free. It would be better for me if I could enter the hammock length instead of the ridge line.

Why does a hang calculator need device id and call information?

Works well though I still make adjustments.

Press menu button to see diagram? What menu button?

Doesn't have full functionality, no menu.

Q70%

Not terrible, just not very in depth or anything I couldn't figure out myself. It was free..

Q70%

Why would a hang calculator need a device id and remote number? Might want to double check the permissions on this.

Easy, quick, and painless geometry calc. Good for the planet too, keeps excessive brain cell oxygen usage to a minimum.

I've used this a few times now. Its a useful tool to have for a quicker hang. Update/ suggestion: Add the ability to tap into the device's accelerometer, for use as an angle finder, and it'll be even more useful!

N70%
by N####:

New to hammocks and this is really helpful for learning the right hang. Looking forward to when I can eyeball it and get a consistent hang without a lot of fiddling.

Nice app. Especially for beginner hammockers.
