The world of parenting is just a little easier, just a little more reassuring with Munchkin Monitor, which turns two or more Android devices into a single baby monitor. Easy to setup, very reliable, & with unrestricted range via any network connected to the internet (WiFi/3G/LTE)! You can have peace of mind knowing that you'll be alerted instantly if there's noise or after 30 seconds if monitoring somehow fails. Plus photo/video & sound transmission on request.
HOW IT WORKS
All you need is internet access. The app keeps a constant connection open at all times during monitoring to ensure reliable alarm notifications. Unlike other apps, does not use unreliable phone calls or text messages for alarm notifications (eg. reception loss triggers no alarm). You will never have to wonder if the app is working or not - one glance at your Parent Station device shows current noise levels and let's you take a live photo from the Munchkin Station camera - Anywhere, Anytime.

** Many Android devices disable WiFi (but not 3G) when the screen is off. Some have an option to disable this functionality. The Munchkin Station will keep the screen ON by default to prevent connection loss.
*** We will keep the app free for basic usage, but it costs money to run the servers which power the app and as the user base grows we may have to introduce data limits and a small fee for some features or for more frequent usage.
For the time being, there are absolutely no ads or locked features, we hope you find the app useful and share it with friends and family!

Finally a baby monitor app that works. The noise alarms are reliable. The streaming of live sound is less realiable but the app does the job. Had a relaxing coffee while baby slept in hotel room.

First app that actually sends a notification over network instead of always having the parent phone speaker on. Must have searched dozens of apps for this feature. The video over wifi is still a little buggy but works 90% of the time. Video over mobile data would be great addition as well.

That chime when when sending status option is redundant. Urr phone keeps beeping every 20 seconds for nothing. Better put an option for the phone to make a sound when it's disconnected from the munchkin station. It happens frequently. I have to exist the app and start again the parent station. Cheers

Using this on a padfone x and a galaxy s5 works good audio option doesn't works just FCS app other good for video. If you happen to have a extrabphone laying around and don't want to pay for a video monitor this is a good start.

I'm not the first to say that this app needs an update. I used it constantly until my phone updated, and the video streaming option doesn't work. Update this please!! I don't want to have to use another app.

First error told me to connect to WiFi and mobile data which were already connected. I restarted the app and now I got a time out error when trying to connect to Samsung galaxy note 8.0

This app worked beautifully until my os updated to Android 5.0. Now I can't get live video on my S5. Please fix!! I love this app and I'd hate to scrap it. Update: was working for a while, except live stream kept quitting and audio would crash the app but at least it still worked, since the latest update it won't pair with my S5 @ all.

I had this when my little girl was an infant and it was amazing. Video steamed well and I got notifications all the time even with the slightest noise. And being a first time mom, that helped me a lot. But i had deleted the app after getting an actual video monitor to use in the house. Now we're on vacation and had to leave the camera at home... So I cam back to this app to try it again so I could feel better about my little girl sleeping in the bunk bed. But i can't can't the video to even show up now.

Love this app, I get so much done while baby naps because of the piece of mind this program provides. No android app will replace a fully fledged baby monitor, but as a usable solution this is great. Guess all the low reviews are from parents that expect the app to look after the infant for them! Its easy to restart the stream when you get an audio alert.

No need to purchase a monitor at the store with this app. Does more than yhe basic monitor. Live stream, you can talk to baby via live stream audio, its awesome. So glad i found this since baby will be here any day now!!
