So far I really like this app. You can have facebook, messenger, and Twitter all in one app which saves a lot of storage on your phone. It works well. The only things I haven't figured out yet on fb is how to tag friends and I don't get alerts when I receive a message. So some updates would be nice! Otherwise great app.

D70%
by D####:

Great in most respects, but I'm pretty annoyed with the photo viewing format. I can't make photos full size and scroll through them. When I do view a picture full screen, there appears to be a glitch that doesn't allow me to go back to the album. I have to exit back to a home page. It's incredibly frustrating.

T70%
by T####:

Generally a great app, but almost every web page I open through it crashes/freezes and requires a restart. Slightly better since last stability update, but still an issue. Otherwise it'd receive five stars.

Y70%
by Y####:

Nice app apart from when opening photos to full size the app seems to be unable to return to the post/page. 5 stars when fixed and then I will buy the Pro version.

D70%
by D####:

I will NEVER EVER use Facebook and Twitter again after Metal..I've used third party apps for both in the past..Eventually those apps got to be unreasonably big after constant updates. I'm saving approximately 375 Mb on storage not to mention RAM usage being way down with Metal..Keep up the fantastic work!

S70%
by S####:

It uses less memory than regular Facebook and messenger. Notifications are not as fast as I like but it works. Unless I am doind something wrong with the settings.

T70%
by T####:

Solid. Way better on space and battery. Couple of awkward things, but still getting used to it. Love that it replaces both FB and messenger

O70%
by O####:

Once I get into a full size picture, there is no backing out, I'm stuck there. Looks like a good app but has a major flaw

T70%
by T####:

My official Facebook app was driving me mental with its constant crashes, sending my phone into near-endless reboot loops and the mobile site annoyed me so much. Then I found this! Brilliant! And I can check my twitter from it too. Now I have loads more memory with those apps gone. Would like to be able to change notification alerts for specific things for Facebook though - I can't seem to find how I can turn notifications on for messages but off for comments and replies. If I could do that, I could get rid of the Messenger app too!

Q70%
by Q####:

Great app just needs the full size photo bug fixed as mentioned in many other reviews! When that bug gets fixed I will definitely be getting the pro version.

T70%
by T####:

Generally ok. The app has problems uploading photos into messages and opening webpages is not as smooth as in the Facebook app. I like the Metal notification bar for quickly accessing messages and notifications.

T70%
by T####:

I would put 5 stars, if I could set it to update with push, or at least every 1 minute. It's a great app, but I can't really delete fb messenger until this is fixed

O70%
by O####:

This app is a blend of good and a little bit of the old fashioned with Facebook's interface but not with Twitter which is good not that I can remember what Twitter was like before I never used it back when I was in high school but anyway I like that the messaging system on here it's a lot more less complicate it then it is on another app that I'm also using for Facebook but with here I really like using the Twitter just only on Metal and with Facebook is more of the messaging I get a better experience then downloading any other app that I could have used but instead I use this one I'm glad that I picked it

A70%
by A####:

I like the design, and that its a lot better then the Facebook app. Only thing that needs to be perfect for Me, is instant notifications

Y70%
by Y####:

Works well as an alternative to the official FB app, but it plays havoc with Bluetooth devices, when trying to watch a video while connected to a Bluetooth device you get horrible distortion (can't use Bose headphones or VW car speakers)

U70%
by U####:

It's a useful app for people like me who want to declutter their phone and life. The app itself consumes very little space and battery on your phone unlike the official Facebook and Messenger apps. It functions well enough although there are some setbacks. The general experience is not as smooth as the official apps. Any kind of carousel/roulette type of content does not work properly; when you swipe, the carousel does not move. Instead, the whole screen gets swiped to the next screen. Messages and other posts do not update instantaneously, theres a few seconds to a couple of minutes wait time before you see your new messages/posts. I wish there is a setting to get instantly notified ONLY if you get messages, while the rest of the updates can be lumped together in longer intervals. To me these things are minor and I can look past it but, its something to consider. Still, overall a useful app that doesn't take so much space and doesn't consume so much juice.

***DEV- App won't close a photo when opened to full screen. Forces me to search and reopen a profile/page

T70%
by T####:

Get stuck when viewing images full size, have to kill app

T70%
by T####:

Exactly what I was after, no need for the Facebook + messenger app, have both in one and it doesn't murder my battery like either of the others do.

Z70%
by Z####:

Like it so far but it really needs a way to get out of Full Sized Picture

T70%
by T####:

Is light ...yes, i want to check first if this will not drain my goddamn battery as the actual fb app.

This app is good but has a few flaws that are pretty annoying. I would definitely pay for pro if they were fixed. Flaws are: When you view pics full size, they zoom way in and you have to unzoom to see anything. Plus the back button won't exit the pic (not sure if they're is a way) end up having to hit the feed button which means it's difficult to look through an album if you want to full screen any of them. So hitting the feed button makes you start at the beginning again. Then if there are any left to right scroll screens within the feed you're unable to swipe left or right without changing the category (Feed, People you may know, messages etc) I do really like the app and big plus for having messages built in. Please just fix those two things and I will change to 5 stars and buy.

T70%
by T####:

I would love to be able to set a default feed to open with the app. Seems like that would be obvious.

S70%
by S####:

Please fix screen refresh bug. When scrolling up or down, the refresh arrow drops down and reloads page everytime. its really annoying.

Metal used to be a great alternative to the fb app. I remember the initial draw was that it was less resource-intensive than the fb app. I tried it, I like it, I've had it for quite a while now. But over time, the updates have broken simple little things, and it's a little more every update. My biggest pet peeves, currently: 1. Can't get to the "Memories" (or "On This Day") page. Pull up the menu, tap it, and nothing. It doesn't even move. So I have to hope to see someone else posting a memory, so I can click "see your memories" there. Or use something else besides Metal. 2. Location information never works. I post, I go to tag where I'm at, it asks for permission to use location, I say yes, it says it can't find me or use them or something. It's never worked in this app. I have to go to the website to do it. But this is supposed to be just an overlay on the website! How do you lose functionality that is inherently there?? 3. My biggest biggest pet peeve. If I read a compelling article from anywhere outside the Metal app and go to share it, with my own comment? It'll post the article just fine. But not my comments. It will consistently either lose what I typed altogether, or if I'm lucky, grab the first like ten characters. What sucks is this USED to work, but somewhere recently, they broke it. I'm going to end up having to uninstall this before much longer. I can just create a shortcut to fb via chrome on my phone, and it'll function better. Too bad, because this started out as a nice app.

Good app, felt too much touch sensitive or I'm mistaken but during scrolling links would open up that I didn't click from my feed. Else does what it says.

R70%

Now i can get rid of the worst 2 apps in history, Facebook and its ugly companion Messenger.

T70%
by T####:

Great app. Would be perfect but each time you view full image, you can't go back, I have to get out and go back in. So 3 stars. Worthy replacement

T70%
by T####:

Photo uploading isn't as fluid as the official app, but having three apps in one with metal is excellent

Q70%
by Q####:

I like this app, but after the recent update, I'm seeing way more ads in my feed.

T70%
by T####:

I can't save pictures ...which sometimes makes me want to redownload the FB app. I have to screen shot and then crop. Does anyone else know a way to save pics?

T70%
by T####:

It does what it says and does it well. Takes a while to get used to but not a learning curve.

T70%
by T####:

Amazing app! Rarely uses up battery and RAM. Would definitely recommend it to a friend.

C70%
by C####:

Works well, doesn't drain battery or slows phone down

T70%
by T####:

Generally great, but I'd love an option to allow all external links to open immediately in my web browser.

T70%
by T####:

Much preferred to the actual Facebook app. Saves battery and sometimes I even forget it's there. But when I use it it's a smooth and easy experience.

B70%
by B####:

Privacy, not bad for speed, took some adjustment from original FB app but it is worth it for battery and data savings.

T70%
by T####:

I really like it. It's a true replacement for facebook and twitter app. I noticed the battery life of my phone significantly increase.

T70%
by T####:

Could still use a few UI improvements, but great at reducing Facebook battery drain.

K70%
by K####:

Almost perfect. If the title of the web page link you are searching is a web page and has 2 lines, the 2nd line is blocked by the web page picture.
