The NBC Sports MatchMaker app. solves that problem by enabling users to locate, chat, and meet-up with other fans of their BPL team, so they can enjoy the thrill of watching matches together.
How?
At game time, the app activates an interactive map showing exactly where other fans of your BPL team are congregating, as well as showing the best football watching bars and venues as voted by other fans. From here, you can seamlessly invite your friends to meet up in the moment, or organize a get together for an up-coming match. You can even start the pre-game banter early, with an integrated group chat function. And because it is directly linked to NBC’s broadcast schedule, you'll get reminders about your team's upcoming matches so you'll never miss a kick-off, while the app’s integrated feed will ensure you stay up to date with breaking Premier League news.

The biggest match of the season, the Manchester derby is on Saturday, yet this thing tells me there's no upcoming matches. WTF? For an app that takes so much data,15mb, it should at least be up to date. Do NOT waste your time nor data for this terrible app.

I somehow managed to find people in my area. But I couldn't contact them or see any of their information. I couldn't do anything. Now I can't even get back to that screen. Very disappointed on how poorly designed this app is, because it seemed like an awesome idea.

Great idea. Great app. 3 hours before games isnt much notice but once u meet up the first time, u dont need more than that if u already intend of meeting. Need more commercials running during games to get the word out.

What's the point of the app if I have to do all the work of finding a place and organizing people who support my team? I look for places and only one is in California, in North Cal-- San Jose. Not one is in LA. Then, the only reason I would need this app is to find other people who share my passion for the team. If I had all those friends, then I wouldn't need help finding them. But I can't find any friends who are not already my friends. Basically, useless.

This app is brilliant! This is a much needed service for footy fans. However, I think you should be able to see all meet-ups everywhere. Not just the people you're friends with on Facebook. The point of the app is to connect you with people you probably don't know.

So you can only search by places you know, and you can only talk to people you are friends with? How does that help anyone find a place that show the games or find a group to watch with? Not all of us live in Boston or Chicago with a giant fan base for our team. Poor execution across the board.
