About Rainy Days

If you have questions, problems, feedback, please send me an email.

Rainy Days shows you weather radar doppler observations from multiple sources on a fully interactive map. You can zoom in, pan and search for locations.

Rainy Days uses multiple sources of data, not one map for the whole world. This gives you the most recent data for your location. Therefore, Rainy Days works best when zooming in to your local area.

Rainy Days uses real doppler observations and only falls back to satellite sourced data for areas without any doppler radars present.

Predict the weather with Rainy Days: see how storms are moving to see if they are heading for you.

Coverage: Europe, Scandinavia, USA incl Alaska, Canada, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, Africa, Australia

Note: shows rain (radar reflectivity), not clouds!

If something is not working on your device, please send me an email, adding a comment doesn't give me enough information to fix any bugs!

Been using for years. Now all I get is no coverage for your area. Now I have uninstalled. Was working fine yesterday. Won't work on any of my devices eg 2 Samsung tablet or note 8. Very sad

T70%
by T####:

Insufficient contrast between light showers and light coloured background maps (e.g. Road map). This makes it difficult to distinguish between the landscape and the rain clouds.

App is a must have for weather junkies! Just discovered the tap & hold zoom so Thanks Hugo! Only weirdness is that if you zoom out too far, u lose the state border lines.

T70%
by T####:

This app is the best you will get, sometimes there are issues with coverage, but that is not from the app or developer, that is due to upgrades from eumetsat that takes place, as soon as they are done the app goes back to normal

by T####:

Had problems with the background map properly loading, but now everything is working prefect.

I have used this app since inception. I absolutely rely on it. It's always been fantastic. However, there is now a prompt to turn on GPS every time you launch the app. This is new and extremely annoying. I don't want to turn on GPS. Can you please remove this? It should be an option under settings not the first thing you see when launching the app.

Awesome work on the 2018 update! Simply the best quick radar app out there.

I have used this for many years, especially when boating. By far the best app for radar.

Must have for all motorcycle riders. This will show you the ACTUAL rain bands in the area instead of relying on a percent chance of rain. One time I was out at the bar had the 636 with me, and I checked the app, and I saw rain bands about 20 minutes away. I paid my tab, and headed back home. As soon as I pulled the bike into the garage, the sky opened up. This app is AMAZING!!!

T70%
by T####:

By far and away the best Doppler app. Other apps have useless features and invasive ads. This gives you what you need - clear, quality Doppler - without any excess garbage. I have an Android phone, so I have weather built in but no Doppler. This app compliments my phone's built-in features perfectly.

People are always asking about an app that just has a great radar and nothing more. Well stop looking here it is. All you need to know if rain is coming. Quick loading, quality of the radar is great, Also the above radar location dot is very nice. I don't want anything else added. Great Job, Thank you very much.

I've used this for radar for bad thunderstorms for years. I like this app the best.

Was a great app. Not worked on my android tab since last update. Shows the radar but no map!!. So sad to lose !y favourite weather app

Tonight my Google Play Services just got updated to the current version. Rainy Days worked fine before. Now after about 30 seconds it simply crashes.

T70%

Showed rain in local area but when went through the area there was no rain to be seen or any damp areas even though the area was several km in area.

T70%

Free and good (if not great) app on all of my Andoid electronics, Google Pixel XL, Samsung Tab A, all the way back to my first downloading this app for my Nexus One.

O70%
by O####:

Sometimes the time period that is being shown ends at the present time, so there is no forecast really. Would like to see this improved.

T70%

The time is bad

T70%

Functional accuracy could save lives! "Rainy Days", is an uncluttered weather tool with almost pixel accuracy of the radar.

E70%
by E####:

It does exactly what you would expect - shows rain radar in increments historically. What it also seems to do is flip to a predictive mode depending on zoom level for my location in Ipswich, UK. When I zoom in, the time range changes to an hour in the future, and you can clearly see the fronts passing, before they actually have!

I commend you on your hard work on this app. In fact maybe you should take over Google earth from Google cause apparently you figured out how to keep it going. It's pretty sad that I can't use Google earth for more then two minutes or it crashes but I can keep this app open all day without issues.

C70%
by C####:

Two major problems: The radar shows the past not the future. How is this helpful? Also, I live in the Florida Keys and the coverage doesn't go outside the U.S. meaning that any storm to the east is not visible.

C70%
by C####:

I have tried a number of weather apps that are very intensive with data selection from various stations and options for warnings, wind speed, rotation and many other settings. Overwhelming, to say the least. They tend to be clunky and slow. I am not a meteorologist, so most of that information doesn't interest me. But it is nice to open up Rainy Days and quickly see where the precipitation has recently been, its intensity and its general course. It gives me a good idea of what is coming.

K70%
by K####:

Perfect for what I use it for. I am not mapping out a forecast. I want to know if rain or snow is heading my way. Or if I hear thunder in the distance, I like to see the radar so I can have an idea of what is coming my way. Great, great app. Thank you!

A70%
by A####:

But shows radar from what's already passed up to present, not what is to come. I want to be forewarned or to see what future weather pattern is, not what has come & gone. Pointless.

C70%
by C####:

The first app I install when I get a new phone! Essential for living in the UK! Tells you when you are going to get wet, and where to go, sometimes only a couple of miles, to miss the rain

Z70%
by Z####:

Superb -- does one thing and does it perfectly. The first app I install on a new phone. (BTW, unless you crank your DeLorean up to 85 mph, there's no way to show a live stream of *future* weather.)

G70%

Fast, good animation , but not for full earth, please make it for earth. Limite line 60.00°E

Been using this app for a few years. Gotta say I still love it. It's simple. No frills. No extra cheap stuff. I recommend this app to people new and old to Android.
