While the room lighting and visuals are an interesting experience, the app itself needs a lot of attention. Even though you're using a VR headset and pointing to the letters of your password, you can't view your password to make sure you typed it in correctly. I would also appreciate being able to login to Netflix automatically if I'm logged into the main app. Would like more additional features such as being able to change the room and being able to move the couch away or closer to the TV as the default option makes you have to move your head to see everything.

Great app. Works as described. For those of you looking to pay back in bed and watch, you can! When sitting in the cottage, look up at the fan or light and point your controller at it and click. This will bring you into a dark void with a floating screen. In this void you can move and resize the screen. Lay back and enjoy! Good luck not falling asleep! I only wish the controls outside of the screen would disappear once the controller is put down.

E70%
by E####:

Netflix have missed a trick with this one. I love Netflix, but why lock it down to particular headsets? It clearly works visually (for almost any vr headset that's been setup) so why won't it let the controller work? The controller works fine in the daydream app itself, but will not work in this app unless you're using the daydream view headset. Such a shame, I would have continued my Netflix account if this had worked but won't be now. I'm sure I won't be the only one who feels like this and as such Netflix will be missing out on potential revenue. How does that make sense?

U70%
by U####:

Totally bummed. For whatever reason, I can't log in! We're using an EVO VR headset with a Bluetooth controller, and even if I open this app through the Cardboard app, it just loads up the login screen and won't let me click log in or start free trial. Tried taking it out of the viewer and tapping it, made sure the controller itself was working (it worked fine on my home screen and in other apps).

I love the concept, the ski lodge with the big screen is so peaceful. In fact, I bought my VR headset just do I could watch movies on the airplane. Only one HUGE problem. You can't watch the offline movies you've downloaded on VR. Please add this, it will make me much happier.

I used it on pixel XL and pixel 2 XL and it looks great. I use it as my get away from the kids to watch a show I'm interested in. This app does work with any VR headset, but you will need to use the daydream controller in order to operate. The one wish I have for the app is when you recenter the screen from the occasional drift. Is that it will allow you to recenter it while laying down. Sort of sucks having to sit up in the bed to binge watch while not disturbing your companion while they're asleep. I saw a post of comparing it to YouTube VR and moving the screen around. That would be cool, but it'll take too much away from the form factor of Netflix VR. Being YouTube VR's back ground is more of a blank slate. Other than that great app for me.

H70%
by H####:

Just copy the features built into YouTube VR and you will be perfect. Drag screen rather than follow head would be preferred. Zoom in and out with thumb on touchpad, and curved screen option. Offline not being available after such a great improvement on the other app was a huge disappointment. Now I just get a blank screen. Useless

D70%
by D####:

Amazing! My only gripe was I couldn't lean back and watch, but as someone posted in another review, clicking the thing on the ceiling lets you move the screen wherever you want. They should really advertise that ability better. Now it's perfect

M70%
by M####:

Is it too much to ask to be able to use this app while I'm laying in bed? It's nice if I want to stare at a ceiling but I can't find any way to move the screen. YouTube VR app works PERFECTLY. This app wasn't thought through at all.

Literally, can't tell you how the video watching experience might actually be. Whenever I click the app, it loads the "cabin" with a blank screen. No login, no video, nothing. So, I mean if sitting in an empty cottage and looking at a blank screen was the goal, then bang up job Netflix! Otherwise, the app is clearly not working as intended. Incredibly frustrating! Once this issue is addressed and I can actually use the application, I will update review to reflect it.

by F####:

Using the Daydream VR headset (2017 version) and a Pixel 2XL on Android 8.1 I am unable to use the app. All I get is a black screen. Can't login or do anything. The living room is nice. Maybe I wouldn't uninstall the app if I could do something in the living room, since then the app would at least have SOMETHING to do.

U70%
by U####:

I can get a movie/show to start but after 2 mins or so it backs out of whatever I'm watching into the "choose profile" menu and I have to reset the video... Other than that it's nice, though I would like the void viewing area to be darker, or just plain black

U70%
by U####:

No login screen when using a Pixel 2 XL and Daydream unit. As other users are saying, I see a cabin and a black screen. Perhaps Netflix support isn't prioritizing is VR app, but it's the biggest issue keeping this from getting anything more than a 1-star review

U70%
by U####:

Well the app looks cool.. too bad it's completely useless. No matter what I tried (reinstall, clear data/cache, even reinstall main Netflix app) it just gives me a black screen. Bought my Daydream mainly to use this app so the fact that it is useless is quite annoying.

U70%
by U####:

This app has been non-functional since before Christmas. I can't add anything that hasn't already been said. The lodge environment renders, but the screen remains blank. None of the suggested fixes resolve the problem, and Netflix support is definitely aware of the issue.

H70%
by H####:

Such a pity that the app is there since November without updates and so many people complaining. Over 2 months to fix bugs is very poor by Netflix. What makes even worst is that Netflix isn't free, we pay for it. Seen free apps fixing bugs and responding to customers much quicker.

U70%
by U####:

You'd think they could make an app that could work but it doesn't work. It will load for me but never gives me any option to watch anything, search for anything. The theater screen stays blank. Using Pixel 2 XL with Daydream.

I go in the netflix vr app and im sitting in the cabin with the tv on and the sign in page for netflix is j chillin, so i look at it pressed the vr interact button and then absolutely nothing happened and i dont know how to get in and watch netflix. So thanks for being usless

EQUIPMENT: VR Box 2.0 w/ BT remote, Samsung note 8. Got the app and synced my Bluetooth controller to the phone. However, in app the cursor from the remote shows up but is unable to interact with the log in screen. Please expand remote compatibility and maybe even make interfacing with the Netflix app option same as current app so cardboard and similar headsets are compatible

Nothing but a black screen on my pixel 2 XL. Looked online and seems to be an issue for loads with various phones but all pixel 2 users. Netflix have responded to people as far back as early last year but done nothing to fix it. Bad form

W70%
by W####:

I have the pixel 2 XL with the Google Daydream and this app will not work it shows a blank black screen. I spent one hour on the phone going through 3 different people finally reaching Google VR team support and they cannot fix it either they said it is a Netflix problem. Now I'm going to try the Hulu app and see if that works any better

U70%
by U####:

BLANK fireplace startup screen. Completely useless. Was really excited to try Netflix VR on my new Pixel 2 and Google Daydream, but this app is useless. Just sits you in a comfy looking cabin with a blank interaction screen

X70%
by X####:

Netflix VR = a TV with no power button or a round room where you need to find the corner! App loads, huge tv screen that is blank. No log in, no options nothing. Hoped the nice remote they had did something, nope, maybe Netflix forgot the batteries. Waste of time.

U70%
by U####:

I have no idea why this doesn't work... The app opens fine but all I'm staring at is a black screen on the wall in front of me. This would be a fantastic viewing experience if it worked. Using Google pixel 2 and Google Daydream headset

U70%
by U####:

Like many other users, the environment loads okay on my pixel 2 xl with daydream viewer, but I just get a blank screen that never turns on. Is there a hidden power button?

U70%
by U####:

Pixel 2 XL doesn't work with this App. I deleted and reinstalled both the VR and std versions of it and cannot watch Netflix VR. Environment loads fine, however the screen stays dark and there is no way to log in or out. Very disappointed. Hulu VR works great though.

U70%
by U####:

I am using it on my Pixel 2XL and my Daydream View, and all it does when I open up the app is show a black screen and nothing happens. I've waited, I've looked around to see if I'm missing something but this app does not work. If they get it to work, I'll change my review.

A70%
by A####:

You must know at this point that this app literally doesn't work at all; it's not bugged, it just straight up has no use at all. I'm sure you must know this by now, but the professional response would be to remove this app completely from the Play Store. It's an eyesore and a laughing stock. Remove it, fix it or scrap it, it doesn't matter once it's gone, but leaving it up makes people buy VR headsets and be disappointed, and leaves you with one of the lowest rated apps on the store.

U70%
by U####:

After I started a movie in the hard to find and hard to click on immersive mode in the chandelier the app crashed. Feels like an escape room, but I just want to Netflix and chill? The settings menu alone with working buttons as an app would be 5 stars

U70%
by U####:

I accidentally selected daydream as my be headset and am unable to cancel the action. Wonderfully, you have to go through the entire setup process with a daydream, and Netflix provides no path to change to the correct headset in-app. Even after clearing app data and cache, uninstalling and reinstalling, I'm still greeted by an "Install required" message.

U70%
by U####:

Can open up app but there's just a blank screen with no way to watch anything. Bought daydream vr mainly for this and side load movies. Not impressed with the experience so far. Paid beta isn't cool...

U70%
by U####:

Please thumbs up this review so Netflix sees it and improves the app. This app is buggey and is lacking features. Please.improve it by; -fixing bugs -fixing screen drift -being able to change the screen(tv) size -move the couch closer or further away -more backgrounds/loving rooms -a full screen mode -allowing a mode where you can lie flat or on your size in bed instead of sitting to make it work(bedroom mode) -support download and watch offline mode for shows that can do that in the main app -allow access to shows already saved offline in the main Netflix app(downloaded Netflix originals) -automatic login through the main app or Google saved passwords -allow the user to see the password as they log in. No need for stars like this *** your in a VR headset. Lol your privacy is fine -allow is reporting of bugs with automatic device information attached to the report -a start up survey that asks which type of phone/headset your using to give you data need to optimize the app -community forum Bonus cool thing. Integrated video player for users personal content. (though I know that won't happen)

Embarrassing that a company like Netflix has a VR app this disappointing. On my new Pixel 2 XL with Daydream headset, you start the app, and suddenly, you're in a cozy home in the mountains, staring up at... nothing. Literally, there's just a big black box where Netflix is supposed to be, and nothing ever happens. Have rebooted it several times, and it's consistent only in that nothing happens. Fire your VR developer, Netflix, and get your subscribers an app that works!

G70%
by G####:

I'd give it zero stars if I could. The living room loads but nothing happens. Just a black screen. Using a Pixel 2 xl with a new Daydream View vr headset. I even tried fully uninstalling both Netflix apps from my phone and just reinstalled the vr version, but to no avail.

U70%
by U####:

Pixel 2 XL with the daydream view 2017 and it's just a black screen in a virtual living room. With all the money Netflix is swimming in you'd think they'd at the very least make sure their apps work for the newest hardware. I couldn't be more disappointed.

R70%
by R####:

Well it looks okay... But I didn't realize you need daydream to use it. It started up and I'm pressing my button everywhere and it's not responding... It was a frustrating few minutes. Seems like a fun idea, but why wouldn't they design it to be able to be used by as many Netflix subscribers as possible? ..

J70%

If you're looking for a VR cabin room with a coffee table and a TV that never turns on, I guess it's pretty good. If you're expecting anything else... Like actually watching Netflix... Look elsewhere. It's just an empty cabin.

U70%
by U####:

App doesn't work at all on my pixel 2 xl. Just sit here in a living room with a big blank TV in front of me. Either fix the app or remove this disappointment from the app store

U70%
by U####:

This app either doesn't work with Daydream and Oreo, or the controls are not at all intuitive. The theater is displayed, but there is no obvious way to login or play a movie.

U70%
by U####:

For some reason it doesn't work. I'm in the cabin but the screen is blank. It doesn't ask for credentials. Quite disappointing. I see based on reviews I'm not the only one. I have a Pixel 2 with Daydream hardware. Regular Netflix app works fine. Please fix.
