La Fondazione San Benedetto è nata a Brescia nel 2005 dall’iniziativa di imprenditori e professionisti che hanno fatto propria la preoccupazione, più volte sottolineata anche da Benedetto XVI, per quella che viene definita l’emergenza educativa. Siamo convinti che l’educazione sia il punto da cui ripartire per salvaguardare la civiltà che ci è stata consegnata e ricostruire una società oggi pervasa dall’idea che nulla in fondo ha valore fuorché i soldi, il potere e la posizione sociale. È lo stesso percorso compiuto tanti secoli fa da San Benedetto. Nell’Europa devastata dalle incursioni dei barbari, in cui nulla era rimasto in piedi, ricostruì una nuova forma di civiltà.

The Foundation San Benedetto was born in Brescia in 2005 by entrepreneurs and professionals who have embraced the concern, repeatedly underscored by Benedict XVI, for what is called the educational emergency. We are convinced that education is the point from which to start to preserve the civilization that was delivered today and rebuild a society pervaded by the idea that nothing basically has value except money, power and social position. It is the same route taken so many centuries ago by St. Benedict. In the Europe devastated by the barbarian invasions, in which nothing was left standing, he rebuilt a new form of civilization.
