I use this app on my Nexus 5X phone and Pixel C tablet. Tablet version is imo better in terms of layout. The filters/sorting UI could be more intuitive on both phone and tablet. It does seem a bit buggy lately, when I tap on an article that's meant to open in Chrome, it simply won't do that. I don't know if it's a bug or if I've got the settings wrong.

Was 5 star. It started having problems and the developer has been totally unresponsive to emails. Multiple feeds stop updating and I have to unsubscribe then resubscribe to get them working right again. They fail again a week or so later. I didn't even get an acknowledgment that they received my email.

by U####:

Don't usually buy apps, but this one is the best I found of it's kind. I would like to see the filter option at the individual feed level instead of all feeds. So when I filter out the words "!dead | !murder | !killed" etc. that I don't want to see in my local news, it is also going to filter it out on my movies, games and other feeds.

by U####:

Double tap to read full article provides random article in a random language. This used to be my go-to reader, but is useless until it is fixed. Online forums seem to include the Pro version as misbehaving, too. I will be using my Feedly app now.

U70%
by U####:

Hey! Readability integration is not working anymore! When double-tab the article it just opens some random web page which is not on my RSS subscription. Without working Readability the app is almost useless! Please fix it! Used to have 5 stars before that bug happened...

Tested many Rss apps. I know Offline is beta so I'm not gunna knock a star off. It doesn't always want to work. 2 things this app can't do that other ones have is being able to fully view a feed that your not subscribed to

Update 03/2017 - This is a very capable newsreader app. Was grappling with sync updates problems until I found a post by @lutomas on the Github page for gReader. When first installing choose RSS Reader Local -> Press the dot menu -> uncheck "Optimized Sync" and all my feeds sync as they should. BTW, the only time I saw the "Optimized Sync"checkbox is when installing.

This was the best RSS reader ever since taptu went out of business. But now I have to look for something else. I don't know why but half of my feeds don't update anymore. The only way I can make them work is to remove them and add them in again. But that only works one time. Then I have to do it again. It's a royal pain.

UNINSTALLED ADIOS FOR GOOD INOREADER HAS YOU BEAT I RECOMMEND DUMPING THIS AND GETTING INOREADER - After the last rating I gave I decided to give it one more chance, for quite a while about 3 years this app was working fine. Not sure what happened but feeds that worked for a couple of years stopped updating. The rss feeds are fine because I can read them with my PC reader. It's almost as if Google decided to start censoring certain news feeds. I hope that's not the case because if it is we're in deep do do. Anyhow my one star stays too bad because the app is better in other ways than it was.

Can't browse an article and merely brush past a YouTube link without it opening MULTIPLE TIMES. How is no one else having an issue with this? Awfully laggy scrolling and web browsing, even on a Galaxy S7. I always thought it was my phone that was not up to date, but when everything else on an S7 is buttery-smoothe and yet gReader is STILL choppy, I see NO REASON TO BUY PRO IF THIS IS THE BEST THEY CAN DO.

I didn't know how much I missed the original Google Reader until I started using your app. I thought feedly was good, but I always found the navigation a bit quirky. gRSS Nailed it. this is Fantastic. There's always room for improvement, but for a feed reader this is as good as it gets.

U70%
by U####:

Page disappears after 10 sec. Need to recharge the page if you want to finish your reading...annoying!

U70%
by U####:

Great app but that would be great if there was a way to hide subscribed feeds icons (they are usually very low res or doesn't display correctly). It is the only complaint I have so far.

U70%
by U####:

I've been a long time paid user. They introduced ads. The problem is it's at the bottom with the buttons and the pop overs so when you want to hit the back key, you tap the advert

U70%
by U####:

La mejor aplicación para leer suscripciones (RSS) que existe. Así de simple. Que permita descargar artículos y entradas de blogs de medios que no ofrecen su lectura íntegra directamente para leer fuera de conexión... no tiene competencia.

U70%
by U####:

Regularly launches YouTube videos without consent, just as you're scrolling by, which is very annoying. Pretty solid otherwise. The whole app could do with a visual upgrade, but it appears that the developer has lost interest. Definitely on the lookout for something better and more modern.

U70%
by U####:

now there is strange behavior as everyone is stating. when you double click an article, it goes to some foreign language ad. this is sad because i have used it for years and it's now useless.

J70%
by J####:

Erratically "unreads" posts when updating. Also, when automatic reading mode is on, it will still take time in its web format(especially when internet is slow). I believe this is because it still tries to load images, even though i disabled image loading. It would be better if it goes reading mode as soon as the base source html has be loaded. Will update to 5stars if this is implemented. EDIT: some feeds stop updating, mainly from wuxia world, the current fix is to log in to feedly then opml import.

For some time now every time I read anything with a YouTube video embedded it starts automatically and after I close it it starts again. Is there any way to turn it off? I love this app but it got too annoying... Please help :)

U70%
by U####:

Used to be great, only had static banner ads, but lately I've been getting a lot of video ads. A productivity app should not have video ads. Time to find a new RSS reader. Maybe I'll check back in a year.

This is a great app. An organizer's dream, except for one great flaw. I am getting multiples of the exact same articles in my feed? Up to 4 duplicates of the same article(s). An organizer's nightmare. Also, no way to simply delete articles from feed. Fix these flaws and you have a near perfect app.

U70%
by U####:

Would be much higher rating if this was faster. Only uses a fraction of my available bandwidth. Good for regular connected usage but not so much when I am in a hurry to download for offline reading.

U70%
by U####:

Used to work great but, now tries to open any YouTube video multiple times. No matter what setting i use it has no effect. App is almost unusable now.

K70%
by K####:

IT WAS a great reader alternative. gReader is hampered by one big shackle. For the last couple of months it no longer properly updates feeds. I've lost dozens of bookmarked articles. I can put up with the ads...IF IT WORKED!

H70%
by H####:

it suddenly stopped updating the feeds I'm glad I didn't purchased the pro version. I tried a lot of stuff to fix greader but failed.

U70%
by U####:

It has been working great since the very beginning. I have the free version so the ads can sometimes get annoying but oh well

J70%
by J####:

More and more superfluous stuff added that can't be disabled and more and more bloated comments and ads and other annoyances. Not easy to just get a list of sources with their feeds underneath. Overcomplicated and very intrusive full page ads.

K70%
by K####:

Ive been using this app ever since i got a smart phone 4 years ago, but now, something is wrong that im unable to log into feedly. Giving 5 stars in hopes that it will fix soon, need it as i only connect to the internet by wifi

U70%
by U####:

This is BY FAR the best RSS app I've used. The one thing that seems to be a persistent problem is that when I click on an article, it takes FOREVER to load, even if I have full LTE coverage or WiFi connection. I wish this could be optimized.

H70%
by H####:

It's an excellent app when it works. There's an issue which hasn't been fixed for the last few years!! Which is some of feeds stop or didn't update with the new contents after refreshing!!! I need to unsubscribe them and subscribe them again in order fix it! I've tried to remove the app and it's folders which includes the database in it. It didn't seem to fix the issue. Apparently it tries to download the settings from somewhere else after reinstalling it. I saw all my old subscribed feeds but they disappeared when I click refresh!!! I happened to my old phone (other brand) few years back, but it fixed itself after a while for the old phone. However, it's been doing it for the last few weeks!

U70%

The built-in browser has terrible performance with no option to use better alternatives. Video ads are really annoying and popping up with high sound volume.

W70%

As of a few days ago, feeds no longer update. I changed nothing and have not been able to get it to work correctly again. A quick search found this is a wide spread problem. Moving on to another app.

A70%

Was great. A complete waste of time now, ceases to update most of my feeds. I think this app has been abandoned.

T70%
by T####:

This app is awesome to get the latest news. However, if you get your attention called away and your phone goes to sleep upon waking the article you were reading will no longer be scrollable. This has only started happening in February 2016. I am hoping it will be rectified soon

X70%
by X####:

Still the best RSS reader for Android. One critic though, there doesn't seem to be option to easily migrate database between devices, so once you change or lose device, you lose your collection of articles

G70%
by G####:

These ads seem to be more and more popular, and while I understand the need to monetize free apps, ads that prevent you from USING an app and that suddenly start making lots of noise is NOT the way to do it. It's too bad, because otherwise the app is very functional.

K70%
by K####:

Use less data . i liked open pages in chrome not in greader and now its scaring me

T70%
by T####:

Only fast at first and became slower over time.

G70%
by G####:

You can only download podcasts with the pro version. But the link is part of the RSS itself! Download a podcast is such a basic feature! You can't take this from people!

T70%
by T####:

The links will either open in the reader, or if you choose to "open in browser", it will open in a built in brower, as opposed to your main browser (which was the old default). The volume keys move next/previous in articles, which is highly undesirable, and the setting to prevent this behavior is cleared when you update to a newer (worse) version.
