Speak For Me - Text to Speech

I am on chemo and have mouth sores so bad that I cannot speak. This app (and moreso the paid version) made it so easy to communicate with med staff and my girlfriend effectively. Be prepared for analogs to Stephen Hawking. You have all the language packs and voices that Google TTS can access and you can change the voices through its settings; you may have to download some additional lang packs for your needs (all the American English ones have a lisp, so I'm a Brit gent now). Developer is very responsive and worthy of our support.

I have a ilness that makes me get sick very easy and at times I don't want to talk nor can I and this app is amazing with helping me speak. I can also change the voice to kinda sound like me!

Omg idk if this is offending to anyone but when you try different languages it just adds "ay" and the end XD i typed "doggo is cute" then pressed Spanish it said " Doggo is cuteay". Then i tried it with other languages. Same thing XD

The app does exactly what it says it will and with or without wi fi which is perfect!! The pronounciation isnt always completely perfect but it works, especially right now while i have a sore throat

It worked when I first starting using it, but now it won't allow me to scroll down to change the user settings... I know a little about computers, so I already tried uninstalling and reinstalling it.

Sounded fine but my keyboard covered the text while typing so was having to type without being able to see what i was typing and couldnt scroll the screen up behind the keyboard so i could see it

Using this app to speak on the phone is complete garbage. Words get cut off, and nobody can understand me.

It continues to crash every time I hit the speech button which is pretty annoying

Found this for my father who after addressing head & neck cancer, can no longer speak for himself without a struggle.

What the hell it says 'i' as 'e' thats pretty retarded im not using this app it can't even pronounce anything correctly

Helpful when loosing your voice

This app isn't a good option for those that need a text to speech app because of a speaking disability. Instead, I recommend Type and Speak for that, because that app has a huge text box and relatively few buttons on the main screen. Those two things are extremely important for those that need an app to communicate. I'm often in situations where I need the other person to read the screen instead, and so I need a plain, simple UI with a large text box. By having fewer buttons on the main screen of the app, I'm then able to have a larger text box when I have someone else read what I typed.

Samsung S3, Android 4.3. Can't save favorite phrases, or pitch or speed. All settings lost on program exit.

When i use my family gets annoyed but i usally talk alot so they get tired of the speaker talking for me lol

After trying 5 or 6 apps. This one works. All others crash the second i press play.

It says "is ze" and "play yey" what's with the accent

This app doesn't work. Why is there such a gap for usable text to speech apps? So strange
