Oxford Dictionaries – Search

Worked ok for a long time and was very good ... but now has an error saying a data connection is needed ... even if connected. Uninstalled and reinstalled but same error.

Although I am connected with internet notices that needs connection with internet

Find meanings on the go...this is very useful. But, u need internet connection. Dosent take more than 2 to 3 seconds to display meanings and the origin of the word u search. Very informative.

This app is indeed a must have by all enlightened personality: students, graduates, teachers, lecturers etc. Its importance can never be overemphasized. It's just too good. Though it works with network.

It will be good if the word list is made available online as a pack. It is littered with apps also which makes it look tarty.

I was well happy when I found this app & it was really useful, but recently it keeps saying that or can't be used without an internet connection, even when I have a good data connection, even when i'm connected to my wi fi. I've tried uninstalling & reinstalling...the same. I know this is a free app so you don't owe us anything, but it would be great if it could be fixed. Thanks!

I don't know what is wrong with the app. Even though i have a great internet connection but the app won't run. There is some serious bug crippling the app underneath. You should fix it real soon before it's too late. Don't you ever forget that there are other free dictionaries available in the market as well. If you don't fix this sooner,then people are consequently going to switch over to other product.Thank you.

It looks like a great dictionary; I would like to use it so that I could get some idea of whether it would be worth the money to get one of Oxford's paid dictionaries. However, it seems to have an issue which prevents it from connecting to the internet, so I have not used it at all. I know I have a reliable connection, so there must be some bug. I would be happy to change my rating and review if it gets fixed.

When I was started this app I just think that it was not understandable to after 2 or 3 days it gave me lots of help and because of I can understand easily lesson with myself but no offline system my humble request is to do this in offline than much more rate you will have plzzzz

If u are searching for a good and fulfilling ideal dictionary just download this app its like zingat speed and all format with multi meanings.Baap of mini and speed dictionary..... just stop thinking download it now...its like brother of Oxford dictionary...... it gives feel of apnapan...small but selfcontaining so i say just DOWNLOAD it .........

This dictionary suffers from a lack of a decent UI and subsequently creates a terrible experience trying to navigate to words. What's the point if the app requires an active connection? Might as well use Android's browser which performs better. The meanings are fine, but with this package, all it's doing is wasting your space and resources being on your device. Install WordWeb and be done with it.

No,Dictionary app in comparison with it.Having no problems except,It requires internet for the usage of the app.You can find 99.9999999% of English meanings here.

I'd rather use this dictionary instead of others bcz it is free of cost, and most imp. Thing that it is oxford.. i dont care that it is either ofline or online

Keeps telling me I've no internet connection when in fact I'm connected to a very strong wifi and have no problem with other apps! Tried uninstalling and reinstalling it but the problem remains. Finally, decided to uninstall it!

I am having exactly the same issues as Jeff k , it says I need data to open it. It worked fine up to this. I done the same action uninstalled etc please fix this as I use this app daily..

I'm experiencing same issue described by other users. The app tells me i'm offline, even though the the wi-fi is turned on and functional.

That's incredible ! It is above reproach. Whatever you need is available and easily accessible. Hardly can one find a better dictionary app anywhere or even a match. I have the distinct pleasure to pay due homage to all who contributed to make this application highly satisfying and a tangibly real success. It deserves 10 stars. Congratulations !

This is the best in all dictionaries . I try so many dictionaries every dictionary is rubbish except this one . I llllllllooooooovvvvvvvveeeeeee it really. Thank you....... For this great dictionary I will gave 5 stars to it when it works without internet promiss.

I am connected to WiFi and this asks for internet. What the hell is this.. Don't download this.

I liked it a whole bunch and exeptra it also got my english better. (I am not sure if my "exeptra"is right i will see in the dictionary): )

Great but i wish it worked without internet . Plz two days past it stop working Y? It ask me if I connected to internet though it still connected . Tell me wt to do .

It really helps in many ways . It's the best online dictionary i've ever seen but it doesn't save a history of all the words I ve looked up. It'd be great to improve it

No man, I think you have a very slow and bad connection. I dont live in UK but my application is working absolutely fine.

I installed this app twice in my both mobile and tablet but it did not work nither with data or with wifi. Asking for internet connection even after installing. Dont go for this app and waste your time.

They say quick search but it is same as others alought slow even don't describe any word fluently

This app is the official dictionary app created by Oxford Dictionaries. I tried to contact the team and they said 'Yes it is'. I'd give five star rating only if they could give more improvements on the spelling feature, as well as the phonetic transcription.

I actually thought what people say about it wasn't true until I experience it myself , I am connected to Internet but it still tell me to connect to Internet. I hope u can fix it

It is easy to understand and learn the word to use it daily in writing speaking it improves your knowledge.

This is the best Dictionary, obviously as its Oxford. But you guys are like Gods of English language, so please do bring the offline feature very soon.

This dictionary does not have the most important component which is pronunciation and then it is not for off line use!

Everything's normal like other dictionaries but not having pronunciation make it trashy! Improve it plz
