Find pubs in the UK where you and your best friend are welcome to share a good meal and a pint.
Drawing on the extensive database of pubs from http://doggiepubs.org.uk, allows you to quickly find and map dog-friendly pubs near your current location or to search for and do the same for any other location within the UK.
- shows an easy to browse summary of all the pubs within about a 12 mile radius of your chosen location including a star rating and a description
- where a website is provided allows one-click browsing to see more details
- integrates with Google Maps and Google Navigation so that you can easily locate and navigate to the pub of your choice
- includes a one-click telephone option to enable you to contact the pub and make a reservation for yourself and your four legged friend
- provides a link to the Doggie Pubs website to allow you to submit new pubs from your phone
NOTE: since February 2011 (and since v0.8 beta), I am no longer officially associated with doggiepubs.org.uk. I have therefore removed any branding associated with their site. I have continued to use public URLs from the website to obtain data. As I have significantly updated the functionality of this app for my personal use and it seems to have a degree of popularity, I have taken the decision to release these updates to existing users. You should be aware that doggiepubs.org.uk informed me when we parted company at the beginning of the year that they were working on a new official Android app and you may wish to check their website for news of its availability (http://www.doggiepubs.org.uk/mobile/).

Many a time do we find ourselves hunting for a pub that will cater for the pooch too, although I do find its database probably needs a bit of expansion. Possibly with the help of its users

The UK isn't blessed with too many places you can eat that welcome also welcome dogs and as a family with a small child and smaller dog this has become an invaluable app in finding places we can go to when on the road. Really simple to use, thank you!

Now we can find great places to eat and drink, where our dog is also welcome, and avoid all those arrogant non dog places that are too stupid to realise that money is what keeps businesses alive. No wonder so many pubs close down! No dog....No customer. Our money.... Our choice. Give me a good pub full of decent people with friendly dogs anyday, rather than a pub full of ignorant parents with badly mannered children who are allowed to tear about screaming and misbehaving and get away with it !!

Not user friendly, ugly, misses out any bars that allow dogs, doesn't give you an option to submit your own suggestions. I think the owners need to look at the 'happycow' app for ideas cos that essentially does the same thing but for veggie restaurants.

Overall a good app but needs an update facility for users. Visited a pub in Whitby which although welcoming dogs no longer does food, ended up going elsewhere for lunch - also found through app though.

As mentioned in the description, this app just takes data from doggiepubs.co.uk, so why not just use the doggiepubs app which is also free but more integrated into their own website.

Have used a number of times and always comes right. Visited many lovely pubs that we wouldn't have found if not for this app and all have welcomed our pooch. Yes it would be good to add your own reviews as I always think that a pubs stance on dogs can change with new owners etc.. So if you could add a comment it would keep it up to date. But all in all fantastic!

No update to the app for over 2 years?! Could do with some TLC as this is a very useful app let down by poor look and feel... Also I've tried adding pubs and clicking the button just takes me to a blank web page. As I've said, re build needed - Oh, you have 10k downloads of the app, so why not charge something to help towards a badly needed redesign?

As alluded to above, when I needed to find a dog friendly place to eat, I downloaded the app and ran a search... It gave me a pub that offered everything I could hope for just a mile away..! Ideal. I hope it maintains that record.

It's not showing all the dog friendly places near me. There are quite a few well know dog pubs I know of that are not listed, but it's given me a couple of ideas. I just wonder how many more places there are out there!
