ArtDate 2017 Sacro / Sagra

Per la sua settima edizione, The Blank ArtDate si reinventa, proponendo un format nuovo che si contraddistingue da tutte le edizioni precedenti.

The Blank ArtDate 2017 è strutturato sull’esempio della festa popolare e riflette sul tema del Sacro, rileggendo rituali, gesti e ritmi capaci di unire le persone in uno spirito comune. Prendendo come riferimento le antiche sagre popolari -dal latino sacrum, “sacro”-, che erano innanzitutto dei momenti di comunione tra uomini e sacro, ArtDate 2017 chiede a numerosi artisti di interpretare e rileggere questa fondamentale tematica attraverso la loro pratica contemporanea, unendo con originalità tradizione e attualità.

Alla riflessione sui riti popolari si intreccia la lettura del sacro, inteso come esperienza legata indissolubilmente allo sforzo operato dall’uomo per costruire un mondo che abbia un significato. La creazione artistica, una della più alte espressioni dell’agire dell’uomo, si innesta perfettamente in questo contesto.

Come novità rispetto alle edizioni precedenti, la VII° edizione di ArtDate è contraddistinta dalla presenza di un luogo d’incontro e di ritrovo serale, nel quale verranno organizzati una serie di appuntamenti dalle ore 18.00 di ognuno dei tre giorni di The Blank ArtDate. L’oratorio di Longuelo diventa la sede di una vera e propria Sagra artistica, dove gli elementi contraddistintivi di questo genere di contesto, come il cibo, la musica, il ballo, i giochi tradizionali e i complementi d’arredo, saranno ideati da protagonisti del mondo dell’Arte Contemporanea.

The Blank ArtDate 2017 is structured on the example of the popular festival and reflects on the theme of the Sacred, reading rituals, gestures and rhythms that can bring people together in a common spirit. Taking as reference the ancient folk festivals -from the Latin sacrum, "sacred" - which were the first moments of communion between men and sacred, ArtDate 2017 asks several artists to interpret and re-read this important issue through their contemporary practice, combining with originality, tradition and modernity.

The reflection on the popular rites intertwines the sacred reading, understood as experience inextricably linked to the work effort by man to build a world that has meaning. Artistic creation, one of the highest expressions of human action, engages perfectly in this setting.

As a novelty compared to previous editions, the seventh edition of ArtDate is characterized by the presence of a meeting place and an evening meeting, which will organize a series of events from 18.00 hours of each of the three days of The Blank ArtDate. The oratory of Longuelo become the seat of a real artistic festival, where the elements contraddistintivi of this kind of context, such as food, music, dance, traditional games and furnishings, will be designed by the protagonists the contemporary art world.
