About Pavlok

The Pavlok wristband is a behavioral changing device designed to help users break bad habits and form good ones. The Pavlok device uses a trio of stimuli (beep, vibration, and zap) to incorporate the latest technology (backed by 80+ years of scientific research) based on aversion therapy, to help users associate their bad habit with an unpleasant effect and drop it.

The app allows you to program your device for detecting habit onset, create warnings and stimuli when your habit is performed, track your habit results and history, explore content about breaking habits and the ability to seek coaching to help conquer your habit.

Because getting a good night’s sleep is the basis for high productivity. Pavlok’s clock functionality includes sleep tracking and “go to bed on-time reminder” features, along with a full-featured alarm clock. Our “Snooze-Lock” feature allows you to program various responses to pressing the snooze button, including an automatic zap until you are up and have done several jumping jacks!

Our “Chrome-browser Extension” allows tracking of blacklisted websites, “Rescue-TIme” Integration keeps you productive, “Pavlok-Unlocked” for including your coach, an IFTTT integration that enables a vast set of conditions to be programmed, and various timers and utilities to help you achieve a better you.

Says I need to update ota in order to use the app. Updated it several times, received the update successful message yet it continuously tells me that my firmware is out of date?! When it does work after I connected it to Bluetooth, it won't pair with the pavlok right after It had found it in Bluetooth! Seriously you charge people enough money for the Pavlok, how is it possible that you can not make a half decent software to go with the hardware? Using a nexus 6P with Nougat 7.0.1

When I try and connect to my Pavlok it connects and then disconnects repeatedly. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app with no luck. Anything else I can try? I kind of rely on this to wake up. Btw I love this device, it has helped me so much. Thanks.

Worked fine for about a month. Support sent me a new unit due to the old one going completely unresponsive. The new one worked once again for a month or so and is now connecting and disconnecting over and over. I have to do a full reset to get it to stop it's a process that takes 20 minutes just to set an alarm. This product is not at all worth the money it cost.

I love the concept here so much, but spent $130.00 on the wristband and can't believe the connection issues to my phone. I've talked with their live support and haven't been able to cure the problem. You guys NEED to release an update for the Android Bluetooth problems. Moto Z2 play.

App is totally inconsistent my alarms havent gone off in the past two days for no reason. I have to wake up at 330 in the morning so I thought this would be a god send but even on good weeks the alarm doesn't go off with 100% accuracy. Please spin off the alarm function in a simple app that works I don't find the device useful for habits anymore I just need a silent wake up device.

The app works and mostly connects fine for me, but it hogs battery life when the Pavlok device is not nearby. I use the Pavlok exclusively as an alarm clock, so draining 15-25% of my battery over the course of my day is not acceptable.

Just got my Pavlok and it was easy to setup and use. So far I've had a great experience and even at 50% power this thing makes me jump out of bed! No more snooze button for me!

Z70%

It's great when you can actually pair the device. Have had the Pavlok for about a year now and pairing has been a consistent problem. I have gone trough 4 phones during that year, 3 androids and one iPhone, and the iPhone was the only one that didn't really have a problem with this so it doesn't appear to be hardware or firmware bugs, get your android app sorted guys!

It'll work fine for a week, then it'll bug out and cost you up to an hour to set your "sleep tracker". - Big waste of money. Don't get it. But invest in a traditional metal bell alarm.

OH My GOD PLEASE HELP IT WONT TURN OFF!!!!! I had this set to the snooze lock jumping jacks setting and I've probably done about 500 jumping jacks now and it still won't turn off. This is the second time this has happened, and I seriously can't figure out how to get this stupid thing to stop. I tried uninstalling the app, force stopping the app, and it just keeps going!!!! I have to get ready for work and I don't want my cat to get zapped, I don't have time for this... I am seriously about to cry. The first time I took off the band and kind of flapped it around and that eventually did it but now nothing is working. Congratulations, I'm awake... and incredibly pissed.

The app just feels outdated. Wish they atleast provide an API support for Pavlok (without needing the app). Great Device, Bad Application.

Something is killing battery and per Android settings it's the Pavlok app. Just got this last week, so app and firmware are fresh; please don't waste time speculating otherwise.

App is a bit slow, not always responsive to gestures. Bluetooth disconnects often, and each time I click "reconnect to last device," I get a pair request despite already pairing. From habits menu, I decided to delete the data for one of my habits. However, it still shows on the habits list and now the app crashes when I click it. All in all, the device and app together do not justify the steep price that I paid. The development team seems to be working on the next half baked product (Rise?) rather than polishing the product that their existing customer base paid for. The app seems like a port of iOS, which leads me to believe that you used one of those non-native frameworks such as Meteor. For your purposes, a native route should have been taken. Your app has a lot of existing functionality and the potential for a lot more. I envision something like google fit or Lifesum. But as it stands, the performance and reliability are not even close. I look forward to seeing improvement.

The pavlok is garbage! Mine broke in less than 3 months $120 wasted they never tried to help me. No repair refund etc.

K70%
by K####:

So I spend $150 on a watch that can't pair for more than a minute then they are going to charge me another $50 for a feature that I thought I was paying for the watch not the app. Even if I did buy the full app it would only be good for this device not any other one.

Was sold on the pavlok for waking up and additional bad ha it breaking. Get the unit in the mail and the app is asking for another $40 for the habits which was not sated clearly at any point before purchase. Will be uninstalling and seeking a refund.

New version never connects . unreadable app . Older version worked fine ... 5/18/2017 , Still no fix, .Someone with common sense would be able to fix this software .. More worried about spying/feedback software then product reliability

The app and device is easy and works great for me! I've never had a problem. Thanks Pavlok, you've been a game changer for me!

Love the concept, but it won't stay connected to Bluetooth through the night. I end up frantically trying to reconnect after it starts vibrating so that I don't get shocked.

Still trying to figure out which is more painful the zap or the app. The recent update did help (at least the app opens now) but it is so slow! Edit: the app no longer works. I just did the most recent update in hope that would help and I can't get the app to open any more. No way to adjust my alarms!

W70%

Still a very poor app. I got a pavlok a while back and stopped using it cause it rarely worked properly and the app had very basic functionality issues. Still has problems (like the add a habit not working). Would be a good idea if it worked. Would be great as a feature on a more fully functional smartwatch or activity tracker tho. Doesn't look very good wearing a watch and pavlok. Plus worried the shock might jack up the watch.

The device works like I wanted. You need a professional app developer like stat to fix this broken design... look at virgin pulse as an example of how to do a health app!!!!!

K70%

Great app helping me beat everything from nervous hair pulling to depression, however I have some feedback for the devs, instead of having its own clock and alarm can you integrate Android set alarms into app, also, I seem to have intermittent Bluetooth connection where I have to manually connect in app from time to time. I'm using an LG g5 h831. Feel free to hit me up for more details

K70%

Really liking my Pavlok, I use it to wake up every morning as I previously had a lot of issues not going back to sleep after my alarm. Only issue I am having thus far is I mainly turn off blue tooth and location during the day as it drains my phone too quickly, and when I try to resync at night for bed for the alarm, it doesn't sync and I have to manually force stop the app and start it again and it them syncs fine. That just needs a bit more fixing, but easy to work around currently. Update: Figured out if I only enable Bluetooth and not location and wait for the app to ask to enable location, it syncs fine without needing to manually stop the app.

Z70%
by Z####:

Absolutely love my Pavlok, absoulutely despise the app. Recent updates seemed to help a bit but there is still nowhere remotely near consistency with Bluetooth pairing and holding connection

K70%
by K####:

I need to speak to someone from pavlok because I turned sleep tracker on and it won't turn off essentially meaning I can't use the 200 DOLLAR ZAPPER I BOUGHT the app just keeps crashing I EXCEPT CUSTOMER SATISFACTION I don't want one of those crumby replies saying " were working on it" BECAUSE YOUR NOT HURRY UP AND FIIIIIXXXXX IT

Could be more reliable but when it works it's great and wish the product was water proof
