What is this

I work in media and events and I'm an avid music and technology lover. Playmysong's versatility, agility, and ease of use make this the perfect app for me in my personal life as well as during events for clients, parties at my house, or for use in the office throughout the day. Playmysong easily transcends the barriers facing other social music apps by being a reliable way to entertain guests at events or parties, to keep a stream of good, hand-selected music pumping through an office setting throughout the day, to share music with friends via Spotify, and of course...to play awesome music that I want to hear while out at venues featuring Playmysong. I've had no personal problems with bugs or host issues, and most importantly I've never had a client complain during an event or party, large or small. Friends love it at house parties, colleagues love it in the office, and I love it for personal use. As a technically inclined person, I am going to guess that the less than stellar reviews are based on earlier versions as the current version works great for me.

Search is not working

The latest update causes the app to close immediately upon open and messes up my GPS option to constantly stuck on searching for location and will not turn off. The only solution is turning your phone off.

useless

No updates from app for 11 months. Think you would continue to update. App keeps crashing and wont show music list. Shows search box, but fails to show anything when entering an artist or song name.

I don't get the point of the app.

When the app is compatible with Spotify it's great but it hasn't been for months.. Please update

Slow, unattractive, clunky, poor selection of songs.

Hi there, We created an host on my PC, and to test my flat mate and I downloaded the apps to add to the play lists. Flat mate has an iPhone 5, I have a Sony Xperia S, iOS and Android respectively. Within the iOS app, when you go to 'Tap here to add my song' you can search for any song on Spotify as it is enabled on the host. Within the Android app, there is no search functionality and you can only choose from a predefined playlist. Will this be fixed? If so, when? Many thanks.

For some reason it no longer allows me to search for songs. So I can only watch while everybody else picks songs. :[

Awesome idea for app, a few bugs, none of which break functionality.

No privacy

I'd give it a 6 for more remote server control ;)

On the HTC G2, the Jukebox Request function worked pretty well, only a couple of crashes, but what I really wanted from this app was just the Spotify Playlist Remote function which is claimed to work, but only Jukebox mode is shown. Uninstalling.

We had trouble setting the correct location at first but once we were not broadcasting in Helsinki we were able to queue music. The interface for selecting music needs work. And the radio app for the phone is useless if you use spotify for your music as it only allows you to select local music. The ability to plug my phone into the stereo then control from the web would be great. Keep up the good work!

Always crashing on S3

It's gone from an app that worked but was buggy to an app that now needs spotify to function. Seems like a hipster is making bad product decisions. Uninstalled.

This works awesome for my backyard parties. Does not matter if guest have apple or droid. I am using a thunderbolt.

This app has a lot of promise, but there are some show-stopping bugs that should be addressed. The worst one is when you find the artist/song you're looking for. When you tap on it nothing happens. I'm actually considering creating my own Spotify app because this one is so frustrating. I do realize the app and service are free, so I wasn't expecting much to begin with.

And the people behind it are very helpful and friendly and they listen if you have ideas for new features or better ways to do things. :-)

House party just became 10x cooler.

Search functionality for songs and artists is severely crippled, the interface needs serious work. No way to add a station, I have to search every time I open (or go back to) the app. Other than those major flaws, great app.

It works for the first song once I select a playlist. but reverts back to the old que once its done. it still lets me know what they want to hear. but, wish it would just continue

The catalogue is a bit to country. The worst part is the songs play twice about 30% of the time

Works well except I can skip tracks from my mobile using winamp plugin.

5 stars for sure if the following is addressed!...Love this app, better than others similar to this, but when people have songs que'd from their phone and I que one from the computer, it plays mine from the computer then goes back into what others que'd by playing the last song over again that someone had already played. Can this be looked into? Kinda sucks cause I will que stuff for people who don't use smart phones from my computer often. Please take a look St. patties is right around the corner :)

as of June 13 (2013) PlayMySong keeps looping the same song, despite having multiple queued. (Replay button is off). I have never got the app to fully work :/
