About Cades Cove

Seven miles into the National Park via the Townsend entrance, an 11-mile driving loop takes visitors back in time. Families began settling in Cades Cove in 1821 and the population peaked around 1900 with 708 individuals in 125 family units. Today, cabins and churches built during the 1800’s are open for exploration, fields are wide and surrounded on all sides by magnificent mountains, a working grist mill and historical re-enactments are complemented by a visitor’s center and gift shop.

Cade Cove is my favorite spot in the smokies and this is a must have app or guide tool to guide you through and around the 11 mile loop. I try to tell people about the cove but words can not describe it, it is kind of a spiritual thing if you know what I mean and if I can say that. A lot of detailed and useful information that will help you get the most out of your time there. The map is a very useful tool... The photos in the app will give you an idea on the angle that you should take for your own pictures and help you remember this unforgettable part of the Smokies...

I didn't actually open the app. You kinda don't need technology to enjoy cades cove. Its easy and beautiful. However....the description says families started moving to cades cove in 1822. White families maybe but families had moved there hundreds maybe thousands of years before 1822. This app is gross and racist.

15-25 seconds into the introduction you see a prime example of the great story of the brave white Christian settlers taming the untouched land that the civilized Indian population had kept tamed for the previous few thousand years until it was taken by the true savages. History in America is nothing but lies and crap.
