About projectM Music Visualizer

projectM is the most advanced music visualizer available on the Android Market. It has the smoothest graphics, the most effects, and is the most responsive to music. It can be used as a Live Wallpaper, in Daydream, or as a standalone app.

projectM will visualize any sound playing on your phone. If there is no audio playing, projectM will visualize your microphone input!

projectM is essentially a rewrite of MilkDrop with modern technologies. It is compatible with MilkDrop (.milk) presets.

Features:

- Chromecast support
- Hundreds of Visual Effects
- Multi-Touch Interactive Visuals & Configurable Gestures
- Music Player Controls
- Track Title & Album Art
- Visual Effect Browser & Search
- Auto-detects sound from Microphone and Music Players
- Live Wallpaper & Daydream Modes
- Immersive Mode for KitKat devices
- Configurable graphics quality
- Low battery usage (low CPU usage)

The Free version of projectM is ad supported. You can upgrade projectM in-app to remove the ads, get 250 new visual effects, and enable the Live Wallpaper and Daydream Modes. The older paid version of projectM will act as an unlock key for this version, so you don't have to pay twice. Just make sure the old version is installed!

PLEASE READ: Some popular high-end devices (Galaxy S, Nexus, HTC) may not work with ANY music visualizer due to a new low-latency audio feature in Android 4.1 called Tunnel Player. The effect is that music visualizer apps do not respond to the currently playing audio coming out of many popular music players, including the stock player. An excellent workaround is to use PowerAMP, because it bypasses the Tunnel Player. We hope Google will fix the Tunnel Player in a future release, but for now, alternative music players are the best solution.

The visualization that came with winamp 5 or better on Windows. THIS IS IT, THE BEST YOU WILL FIND PERIOD. This can be manipulated and programmed into literally thousands or more combinations and include text and pictures into the visualization for hours of enjoyment. Some of it is difficult to master but I have never in 20 years of loving music visualization have ever found a better one. It should come preinstalled on any music software which includes video. I flat out love it. SO COOL.

Great concept! However, I went to cast it to my Chromecast and it told me I needed to upgrade to cast so I did and paid the 2.99 but I don't have the upgraded version. What's going on? Also I wish it would work with other apps, not just MP3s.

S70%
by S####:

It's a cool light music player but let me tell you something!! There is WAY!! I mean WAAAYYY!!! Too meany adds. They just keep popping up and it sucks. If you guys can fix it, this would be a great audio light player app. But there really is just to meany adds.

Looks great, runs smooth but crashes my bluetooth frequently on my gs6 edge +. Also had paid for the better version once and now it's showing another one I have to pay for. Don't understand this.

S70%
by S####:

Just paid for the full version and I'm disappointed. Enabling "Single Visual Mode" crashes the app and "Visual Duration" setting is being ignored. As reported by others, audio stops on Chromecast if app is not in foreground. Localcast somehow pulls off working as a background service when used as a streaming destination by other apps. Perhaps there's a different approach that can be used to get this working.

I paid for this app and it's riddled with bug's, forcing app to close. It's about time you updated this app to bring it upto date as it's clearly not! I think it's wrong to take money when your app ain't changed in well over a year. Shocking

S70%
by S####:

I don't know what changed in the earlier versions to the new one. I can tell you that I tested this with Pandora and just my microphone and it worked. I only buy apps that truly do what they advertise and there for I purchased this app to show my support. Does what it says it will.

If you want to cast to chrome, but wish to still Bluetooth sound to your speakers it will not work. What a waste if money. I would like a refund

S70%
by S####:

First of all, thank you for taking the time to bring milkdrop to android. I have tried many other virtualizers and they just aren't up to par! One thing I would like to see though is stereoscopic support, now that VR is taking off I think this would be a great feature that is already part of milkdrop for winamp.

Buggy buggy buggy... This would be a great app if it actually worked... When I Chromecast it the app either crashes within a minute (if even that) or it disconnects my phone from wifi... Waste of my money...

S70%
by S####:

Doesn't work with Anime Radio. It also force stops working when I click the "single visualisation" check box in the daydream settings menu. (I assumed this would let me pick one i liked and stick with it.)

K70%
by K####:

Using poweramp, drops BT audio when changing visualization settings while music is playing. Changes output to speaker at max level and that's not good while at the office. Otherwise, the visualizations look nice.

C70%
by C####:

Free version has way too many ads. Paid version works well with Chromecast and Google Play music for me. Would give five stars but the audio goes mute if I switch apps while Chromecast is on, so I can't multitask.

S70%
by S####:

Just like winamps milk drop that i still use as i am yet to find anything better. Only issue is that i paid for the ad free version on my tablet but it wants me to pay again to put on my phone.

S70%
by S####:

I know how difficult it is to program, i am developing my own app but after years of debugging i still cant get my app onto play store. Nice job man works really good.

S70%
by S####:

Goes right into adds and you have to get up to turn them off. Defeats the purpose of having a music visualizer. This app is junk, deleted faster than I installed it!

S70%
by S####:

Pro-tip don't run this app if you have WiFi or roaming on. Otherwise you'll get bombarded with advertising

W70%
by W####:

Awesome. I love the visuals and control! My only recommendation... add a vr mode. If the app "vr music" does a good job with their next update or 2, I'll likely be unistalling project m unless it delivers a vr mode, preferably with 360 headtracking.

S70%
by S####:

This app as far as I can tell is only a visualizer app but a very good one... Super responsive to sound and very customizable with great visuals that haven't gotten boring and this app doesn't bombard you with ads or lock everything from use till u pay... Great developer!

D70%
by D####:

What's with the weird folder of somewhat unsettling images? I deleted it and it came right back when I reopened the app. Haha. Wtf.

S70%
by S####:

Overall great app for what it says, would love to see some sort of Google Cardboard VR Version available, that would push me to buy premium.

R70%
by R####:

Love how smoothly it functions on my phone, like in my beloved Winamp, in days of yore. Best visualizer ever! Now, if I could only get it to stream to Chromecast without major degradation in both the music and the visuals - I realize Chromecast support is a relatively new addition, so am hopeful further refinements are down the road. In the meantime, maybe it's time for me to get Google Cardboard, slip on some headphones, and bliss out!

S70%
by S####:

Great app, I was able to recreate the bluetooth issue. When i would tap back in the settings, (galaxy s4 back button) it would chage the music to my phone instead of the headset. The headset does remain connected to the phone. Unless i have not found it, a way to choose a song would be nice.

To anybody that reads this.in settings.set it at 120hz and click 4 times on all mushrooms.then have each scene at 5 seconds and overlap at 10.this is the best music visualizer ive found and developer should be proud.love it

S70%
by S####:

I bought the paid version. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. When cast to a tv the visuals are pretty mediocre looking. Still better than the lame fire place that Google provides... When it works that is

D70%
by D####:

Do not waste your money on this app. Yes, it is pretty but you do not get what you are paying for. I am hugely disappointed with this app for consistently interrupting my music with musical ads.

Z70%
by Z####:

Best I found needs few things make it best I think record button would be great to record music and visualiser and double tap to settings good work can't knock it use all time

F70%
by F####:

I just downloaded it and it's awesome except that I have a timer on my google music app so it shuts off after I fall asleep, but there is no timer on this app, so I think it will keep my screen on all night long.

S70%
by S####:

Start Google Play Music App and pick one of your playlists. Switch to projectM app - you can control music playback from this app. Cast to TV.. now you have you're music playing on the TV along with full screen visualization. Looks great!

S70%
by S####:

OMG the amount of ads is ridiculous! I love milkdrop but this app is merely exploiting the name.

Q70%
by Q####:

Want a visualiser? OK. But don't get this one. It crashes your phone and glitches it so u have to restart it. Bad app.

S70%
by S####:

awful for casting tho (buggy)

R70%
by R####:

This app works well...if all of your music files are mp3 files... I like when the app works, but really, I have over 200 songs on my phone and about 10 of them are mp3 files. You really need to make a fix expanding the variety to wav and other audio files. Not every download is automatically converted to mp3. :/

R70%
by R####:

Doesn't work with daydream and prevents audio from streaming to Bluetooth. No sign of the album art they mention in the description either. Maybe I have to pay to get a working version but the free version is disappointing.

F70%
by F####:

Pretty neat. Is there a way to have it cast music while in the background though? Chromecast stops playing music whenever I switch to a different app :(

Z70%
by Z####:

Grab this and then do a google search to download a .zip of all the .milk presets ever!!! Then buy the Pro version upgrade to support the devs.

4/5 could use a cardboard or gear vr mode

This has got to be the coolest app I have ever bought thank you.

R70%
by R####:

Not really a big market of visualisers on google play but this one is pretty nice. It should have one more option tho, to be perfect. Setting the speed of movement in the visualiser. I would like them to be slower for example, not that agitated. Also, to have a input into the duration, like having them change after 10 mins, not 10 secs. I will change the rating if this options come into the next update

R70%
by R####:

The on reason I purchased this app was to cast it while casting Google music on TV. One over rides the other.
