About Tactile Player - Music Control

Control your music player with your phone's volume and power buttons! Finally you don't have to take out your phone, unlock the screen, and navigate to your music player just to change the song. With Tactile Player you can change the song just by using your phone's volume and power buttons, even in your pocket.

Double Press the volume UP key for NEXT.
Double Press the volume DOWN key for PREVIOUS.
Triple Press the Power key to toggle PAUSE/PLAY. (You can change this to double press or never if you like).
Simple as that.

These controls are now modular so you can make the volume down action trigger next or the power button trigger previous, it's up to you!

Tactile Player supports most stock players (the "Music" app) along with third party media players such as:
PowerAMP, Pandora, Google Music, Google Listen, doubleTwist, PlayerPro, Amazon MP3, Mixzing, and most other popular media players.

This full version also comes with a widget so you can easily turn the service on and off anytime.

Now you can use your favorite music player and control it with your phone's tactile buttons, thanks to Tactile Player. Try it out.

Note: You can turn the service off anytime, just open the app, press the off button, then close the app.
Note: Samsung users using the default music player on your phone, please select the "Simulate Headset Option" in the Choose a media player setting.

If you have any problem using the service, please email us at: purelogicapps{{at}}gmail.com.

Please, please come back to rate the app! Thanks!

What are users saying about Tactile Player - Music Control

by S####:

When long holding volume buttons to quickly lower audio volume, it registers each volume slider movement as a separate click. The issue is that it triggers the Next/Previous hotkey. And when sliding the volume slider on the screen, each separate movement is registered as Next/Previous. Basically, say goodbye to that very basic feature. Updates to 1 star for absolutely no updates or feedback

Any possibility of adding a thumbs up option (Spotify and Pandora) for a double click on the tactile key or back button?

K70%
by K####:

Didn't work with inbuilt music player and doubleTwist player. Please fix it.

I love how easy and simple it is. My only suggestion would be to make the player automatically detect what player is being used and to automatically switch controls to that player. For instance, if I was using Pandora, I'd want tactile player to be able to detect that I'm using Pandora and allow me to control it. But then if I switched to Google Music, it should again automatically detect that without making me go into the program to select the player I am using. This has already been implemented into the iPhone and it would be great if you could do it here too. Thanks a lot!

I loved this app on my Nexus 5 but since the update to 6.0 it has just stopped working, even after messing with all the different options etc. Please make it work again on 6.0, I miss easily changing tracks so much!

Just what I needed to start, stop, skip & get through podcasts faster with the screen off. The free version worked well so I got the extra functionality of the paid. Now works with SiriusXM. I have to set it to either SXM or BeyondPod as the "use last media player" doesn't get it done.

Loved this for riding my motorcycle and switching songs on my HTC M8 and now my LG G4 but it stopped working on the new version of Android, massive bummer.

On my galaxy s4 and Android 5.1. It works fine when the app is freshly started but then after a day or two it stops working and needs to be restarted. Shame as this app could be very useful.

Great app, ONLY drawback is that Tactile Player registers the HOME button press as a POWER button press which is really annoying, as I press Home then Power button to turn my screen off, which starts podcasts! Changing to 3 presses is too convoluted. Please disassociate the Home button from Tactile Player.

Walking down the road with hands warm in pocket and skipping back/forward in my Shuffle play. Works as well when using bluetooth headphones and using the phones volume buttons to skip. Have the on/off widget on the screen, handy.

Any possibility of adding a thumbs up option (Spotify and Pandora) for a double click on the tactile key or back button?

Using tactile player really makes a difference. No more fumbling around with screen buttons trying to control music players. This makes driving and listening to music so much easier. And it works with a lot of different music players (even slacker radio). It also has a widget to turn it on and off. Great widget to use with a custom lock screen.

Works great! Was looking for a music player with this built in but all of them gave me problems. Was happy to pay the 99 cents

Status as an awesome app is back now that autoshutoff and option not to display on status bar have been restored!

K70%

The controls work very well but occasionally after I pause the music (finish listening to music), this app seems to automatically start my music player which gets annoying especially since it plays on speaker. Any idea why this is happening? Thanks. Phone used: Samsung Galaxy S III

I thought it didn't work, but by ticking 'simulate headset controls' everything works perfectly on my Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro. Nice one, programmers.

Ya no más encender/desbloquear sólo para poner pausa o cambiar de canción, esta aplicación hace más agradable el uso del teléfono como reproductor de música.

I've been searching forever for something that did this. I needed something that would allow me to skip tracks while in navigation mode while driving. Some apps only worked in the foreground (while the music app was active), some only worked from the lock screen. This solves it perfectly. Works in the background and configuration is perfect. Couldn't purchase quickly enough. One request: Please add an option to auto-start with the music player. That way I never forget to enable it. Thank you!

Makes life so much easier with the default music player. Was wondering if you could make an option for a half-second hold instead of the double-press to change between songs. But even without that this app is great.

One way to make it even better would be to enable and disable tactile when headphones are inserted and removed, still great tho as is!

This is a great app for us audiophiles who like to lug around amplifiers and such. It works exactly the way it was designed to. I use an external DAC/amp with my Galaxy S3 (Vamp Verza if you're curious) and my inline buttons don't work through the amp. With Tactile Player I can now control my music without taking the phone out of my pocket. Highly recommended.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I've had this on three different droid phones and it has always worked perfectly.
